I imagine he threatened most with a horrible death if they didn't help. I also imagine several helped police after they were safe from him. Why else did he get caught so quickly. Not only did the police have a suspect rather quickly thanks, most likely to surveillance video, they we able to zero in on him 'after' he left several friends and family's homes. But the sad fact is people did help him and they will, as they should be punished.

Over the years many "suspects" have been shot and killed...and even a few were later found to be innocent! Now we'll never know what the real story was.

Two issues:

Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer said earlier Tuesday that Clemmons was carrying a weapon taken from one of the slain officers and had been shot in the abdoment in Sunday's shooting at the Forza Coffee Company in Parkland, Washington.

Was that in the initial police reports? They kept that part quiet..

Clemmons was accused of child rape and assaulting a police officer in May. He had been released on $150,000 bail five days before the shootings, according to court records.

WHY was he allowed bail? A violent rape, particularly of a child should instantly force him into psychological evaluation and NOT release.

Most people are not aware of what Tacoma is - a drop off point for convicts. They get bussed up there for free from Portland - it's basically become a city of dangerous felons.

There was no chance this filthy animal was making it to a jail cell. No way he was gong to to get his 'day in court' to flip off the police and say he was glad he executed four police officers having their Sunday morning coffee.

No way this evil piece of shit was going to get the chance to throw feces on a jail guard at chowtime or be treated like a hero by other scum.

2. Lakewood is a nice place, it has a small town feel even though it is a contiguous part of south Tacoma.

3. Most of Tacoma is a beautiful and prosperous place. Stadium and Bridgeport are two of the nicest place in Washington to live. Tacoma has some of the best restaurants in Washington state and I would wager America.....I enjoyed living there.

There are some bad places, i.e. Hilltop, but every industrial town has bad spots.

4. This monster could have killed in any town around the Sea-Tac area.

Under California law, if you assist in a murder -- even if you weren't the one to actually kill the guy -- you are considered just as guilty as if you had pulled the trigger yourself and can be charged with murder. In California, the get-away driver would have been charged with homicide.

...Two people accused of helping Clemmons evade authorities, brothers Eddie and Douglas Davis, appeared in court Tuesday. Both are charged with rendering criminal assistance, a felony. A man who police believe is the getaway car driver was also in custody, along with a second man. Neither has been charged.

The men accused of trying to help Clemmons provided medical aid, housing, a cell phone and money and were trying to get him out of the state,...They also called in false leads to police to divert investigators.

You can take it to the bank these guys would have killed again if not caught and/or killed.
