I wasn't on the site then, but yes. I don't support attacking families of politicians or any public figures. I say the same thing about Palin. Her kids should be off the table, but since they decided to campain as a family then they've decided to be public figures. I understand that people used to compare them to monkeys in a racist way, but that doesn't mean that when someone does it today that it is racist. There was no outrage when Bush was called one and no matter what, he was still being likened to a monkey. Is that not also insulting and racist? After all, if the comparisons are being made because he resembles one that is due to his genetic make up. Same thing goes for a black person.

First Lady Michelle Obama is a public figure, not some random house mom, and like any public figure we have the right to make fun of her.

Some will say it's racist because she is black. But when the comic artist makes 5 white people into monkeys and a black person into a monkey that is not racist intent.

If anything, the people who are racist are the people who insist that this is racist. If you look out the window and see a dirty world, trying cleaning the window!

All of this said, I support Barack Obama. I voted for the man, and donated a fair sum of money towards his campaign. I've no opinion either way regarding the first lady. I don't feel that this art was particularly clever, but it wasn't illegal.

And if someone wanted to publish inflammatory art that puts me down, I surely wouldn't like it; however, I'd die for the creator's right to publish it.
