I was telling my husband about the events on here the past couple of days....he laughed saying he was thankful not to be standing toe to toe with me. He knows my passion for Jesus and for fighting against injustice.

It's in reference to spiritual protection, not literally Viper-armed clothing.

To war in the sense of using your spirituality to arm yourself is disingenuous to the purpose of devotion to peace that Jesus instructs. I've never found language of this nature satisfying, merely pandering for people to act with aggression to anything questioning their beliefs.

Sometime 2002 or 03 I watched a televised Floridian minister "anoint" her congregation as "holy warriors for God" to join the military and fight the war in Iraq. She went so far as to describe Florida as gun-shaped, thus a "sign from our Lord".

Imo, fundamentalists who describe themselves as "warriors" are not realizing how mistaken they are adopting that word. All religious recruiting and particularly use of militarized labels should be warily observed.

i am not trying to make less of a murder, but it reminds me of the scene in "Die Hard with a Vengeance" when Bruce willis wears the sign that says "I hate " on it.

Why do missionaries have to glorify the number of people they are converting, like they are doing something good.

I hate missionaries, if people convert because they feel like they find something in another religion missing in their lives great.

I love missionaries. They give up everything they have to spread God's word, in most places they put themselves in danger to do it. They are selfless people.

Lost and weak would be those who threaten with violence trying to force others to believe as they do. Obviously the Word they follow isn't strong enough to convince others theirs is the sharia.

In current times it's the stripping out/away a cultures heritage and beliefs to "spread the word". Yes, gotta love those missionaries!
