She did all she could to fight breast cancer, raising millions--money that will go to help others. Sadly, it couldn't save her life.

As a Buckeye fan I became aware of her situation some time ago. She was able to benefit others thru her illness. Sad story, yet one which occurs all too often.

RIP Stephanie.

A great heroine and fighter has passed on. She spent the last 11 years of her life helping others by raising awareness and millions of dollars for cancer research.

God bless her and her husband Chris Spielman for their tireless work and great service to all.

Thank you for all your efforts, Stephanie.

DEER LODGE Barbara A. Schneiter died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, in Deer Lodge.

Barbara was born May 6, 1929, to Clarence and Grace Kendell. At a young age, they moved to Bozeman, where Barbara received her education. She married her soul mate, Armean Schneiter on Nov. 11, 1946. They spent many great nights dancing at the Eagles. The couple farmed for 55 years north of Central Park. She loved to go fishing and be outside. Barbara also drove school bus for the Belgrade School District for many years.

Stephanie and Chris Spielman, through the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, raised more than $6,500,000 dollars for research, education and patient assistance at OSU's Aurthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

We have lost a leader in the fight against cancer. For her sake, we will continue the battle against a disease that claims too many women all over the world.

Someday, after researchers learn all they can about the human body and its potential for dis-ease...there will be knowledge and there will be cures. Until then, another good person has lost the battle with this illness. So sad...I'm thinking of her kids. They need their mom.

Chris Spielman is a disgrace. living in columbus, I've been subjected to his frequent political rants on his radio sports show. He slammed the entire country of the UK after one of its newspapers asked 'what the hell is wrong with the usa' after bushco won reelection in 2004. His grandstanding for an immoral administration will cement his status here in Ohio; sad we now know him as a right-wing christianist bigot rather than the all-american, all-pro linebacker he was.

I grew up in Massillon when Chris was playing H.S. Football. I knew Stephanie had fought with breast cancer for years but I thought she had overcome it. I am shocked and saddened by this story. As a fellow Buckeye alum, this is as sad news during such a special day of the year, much akin to UM losing Bo three years ago.

It's another shitty day for football.
