What is it about the concept of paying for this medical coverage that keeps eluding you people? This is not a handout; it is coverage that everyone will have to freakin' pay for, except for a fairly small percentage of people who do not have the means to do so, and who will get subsidies to pay for their premiums.

What's on the table is people being responsible for themselves by buying health care coverage, instead of squandering every nickel of their disposable income on Dodge Rams and 52-inch HDTV's bought on time, with the result that they end up in a taxpayer-funded E.R. when they get sick. Why do you have a problem with people paying for their own damn health care instead of doing that to you?

I know about 30 people who work there. No one pays even close to what she pays them. She's great to her peps and to others as well. Gives a shit load of money to charity. Not saying, just saying...

I pay for my own. You pay for your own. But a lot of people don't, trust me. Some of them can't, because they're making barely enough to subsist on, and the health care plan has subsidy provisions for that. But those who prefer to park a buy-here-pay-here Escalade out front of their trailer instead of spending what they should on insurance will be given incentive to do the right thing for themselves, their families and taxpayers. Even in the case of subsidized poor people, which would you rather see - their health care costs paid indirectly by means of an insurance premium, or directly and in full, by Medicaid?
