Maybe they need a new CEO. 68 billion in revenues and they can't figure out how to turn a profit?

As far as I can tell, they are still trying to run it like it was a government operation. I believe US Postal to be a great asset to this country, but its long enough in the tooth that I don't think I'd agree with any sort of bailout.

It is in all likelyhood probably for the better that they would have to re-organize a bit. I'm guessing the pensions are killing them.

i don't know. it's one thing that the feds are actually supposed to do under the Constitution - as opposed to all of the other shit it's getting involved in. knight is right, pensions are probably killing them, along with e-mail etc.

i think it has to be bailed out though, but the whole system needs to be restructured first.

The law should be changed and it should be made a 100% government operation again and reinforced to whatever degree is necessary to keep it as strong as possible. It is holding this country together.

Coming soon to a health care industry near you.

Maybe they will finally drop Saturday delivery - that should make the difference with fewer man-hours and less fuel costs.
