I know what it's like being locked up for an extended period of time(More than a few hours or days) and it galleds My balls that these detainees have never had charges brought on them within at least 15 day period but at greatest a 72 hour period of time. I am also galleded by the fact that these detainees have not had their days in a fair court of law. I am also appalled that we have many detainees innocent of everything. Here in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA It's totally fucked up. Either Bring them to the mainland and charge them all try them all and either get a conviction or an aquittal on them. OR Release the whole bunch. We can not condone the continuation of the GITMO Prison system. It must be shut down post haste. IT'S BULLSHIT.

Our most significant policy change is that we are no longer releasing photos of the "hazing" that went on there. Having done that, and counting on the poor memory of Americans, there really is no reason to shut down Gitmo at all.

I don't give a rip that he isn't meeting his deadline. On an issue such as this, the deadline is trivial.

What I am bothered by is his actual decision. Closing the facility is stupid. What's worse is that it's only a symbolic gesture. What makes Gitmo so 'controversial' is that it's detainees are being held indefinitely without counsel and due process. Moving the detainees to the states doesn't do anything to address the 'controversy' it just changes the geography.
