BEst MTV gameshow ever!

And the Birth of the great one, Colin Quinn

RIP Ken

when did MTV officially die?

Thank you Ken Ober for it was your show that gave Kari Wuhrer her first break.

I also should not forget Adam Sandler and Denis Leary. No surprise my mind went to Kari first.

He was grossly oberweight.

"Dead or Canadian?" Best game show question category in the history of television.

Kari Wuhrer...yes...thanks Ken.

Adam Sandler and Denis Leary

That's right!

No surprise my mind went to Kari first.

You are straight, then?

Now if only his partial namesake (Olber-dickhead-mann) would kick the bucket too, It would be one less fake talent.

I forgot about that show. Seems like I remember something about music videos too....nah, must have been another channel.

Please. The great one?

A year or two ago, I saw Colin Quinn waiting with a friend outside a theater across the street from my building. I was feeling a little rascally.

"Hey Colin, loved you on Remote Control, man."

"Thanks. You know I've done a lot of other things since then," he calls from across the street.

"Whatever you say, Colin," was my terse reply.

He looked at me like he could slap the mierda out of me. His friend laughed loudly in his face.

RIP, Ken.

On a positive note: he outlived MTV.

I gave up on MTV so long ago I can't even tell you what's been on that channel for at least 20 years. And I'm a music fanatic. Anybody who still cares about music, whether videos or not, is surfing through YouTube or, even more fun, becoming a blogging DJ at blip.fm.

FF and great story for #11, Hagbard. And I agree Quinn was never funny.

Also, the article says this was the first non-music original progaramming on MTV... I always thought that was "The Real World".

The real world didn't start until 92 or 93. Remote Control was on in the 80's. Doncha remember the bad hair, acid wash jeans?

MTV did a story once for MTV News on how the Levi-Strauss company actually did the acid washing. Man...that's some critical reporting right there.

"Man...that's some critical reporting right there."

I remember their ad campaign where they started insulting the viewers.... very 90's alternative I guess.

"This is Michael Stype and you're watching MTV.... You're soaking in it."

But my favorite was far more honest...

"This is MTV, blah blah teleblah."

If you don't get Colin Quinns humor, you may not actually have a sense of...

Errr.... I didn't say I didn't get his humor, only that he is nowhere near deserving of the title The Great One. I used to watch Tough Crowd. The guys on stage were always laughing loudest. Like a bunch of has-beens and never-will-be's commiserating with one another at the Friar's Club.

"This is MTV, blah blah teleblah."

www.youtube.com

still funny.

either they've become a parody of themselves or that commercial is prophecy.

"... either they've become a parody of themselves or that commercial is prophecy."

It couldn't be both?

It couldn't be both?

No.

Did he die because of death panels or rationing care?
