Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Witnesses have told authorities that Ellis cut in front of waiting customers at the Walmart in Kennett on Jan. 6, 2007, shoved merchandise already placed on a conveyor belt out of the way, and became belligerent when confronted, according to court filings.

Ellis maintains she was merely joining her cousin, whose checkout line was moving more quickly. She claimed in a written complaint to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People that she was then pushed by a white customer, hassled by store employees, called racial slurs and physically mistreated by Kennett police officers.

But, but, but, 101, don't you know blacks are first class citizens in this country and that any white person is supposed to give up their place to them?

Seriously though, playing the race cared is the last refuge of a scoundrel. When people can't win on the fact, they'll do anything they can to get off without being properly punished. Sham on her, she probably hates white people.

I can't fathom why she thinks her defense is the least bit valid.

I also can't believe that the NAACP or that other victim's group from NY are willing to back her on this move.

I'd love to see the video. I can't imagine that there isn't one.

The problem with the NAACP is that they back any black person whether they deserve or not in the same way that unions protect all workers whether they deserve it or not. In other words, the NAACP is racist.

Where's Al Sharpton?

I have seen both blacks and whites do this in line. To paint this type of behavior as "black entitlement" is just plain stupid.

Maybe you should re read the name of the organization.

Q.E.D. (the thread)

You don't know nothing about cutting in line til you shop in North Miami Beach, Florida. Anyone who has ever lived there knows exactly what I'm talking about.

* * * *

I think that's the point.

"Maybe you should re read the name of the organization."

Maybe you need to look at the name again. How is backing some horse's ass like this woman "advancing" anyone?

Good, old-fashioned shivving would have nipped this right in the bud.

j/k

Maybe you should re read the name of the organization.

Maybe you shouldn't have cut his quote?

Nothing in the name of the Organization explains why they would back any black person whether they deserve it or not.

They aren't "advancing" anything here by backing her except the fact that they'll back any race baiter they come across.

Damn Sully.

NAACP trying to become relevant?

"Where's Al Sharpton?'

Front and center... Along with the other race baiters....

Seems a bit odd she was given a job as a teacher. The fact she had a felony case pending should have disqualified her.

From Crisp's link...
"Heather Ellis is presently facing a possible 15 years in prison based on charges stemming from an incident that took place at a Wal-Mart in her hometown of Kennett, Missouri. Heather's ordeal began when she was falsely accused of cutting in line in front of some white customers (For more details of the case, visit
www.theheatherelliscase.com)."

She already admitted to cutting in line. Unless her definition of cutting doesn't incluse leaving a slow moving line to a fast moving line simply because your cousin happens to be in it.

Yes we know, you dislike brown skin people, we know.

#17...

It does seem a bit "Gates" like when it comes to the actual truth and charges, according to a couple of sites. I guess the two counts of assault on a peace officer isn't important to the cause. But I do enjoy how she "simply placed the items..." or "she was just trying to buy a few things..."

It is normal to cut in line so you can join up with someone that you know in another line.

This is a case where a black college girl was getting "uppity" and the redneck customer and redneck cashier ganged up on her to try to put her down.

The question is who is the first person to put hands upon another. I believe the customer shoved Heather Ellis and the prosecutor is wrong.

A) No, it isn't "normal" to leave the line you chose and cut in front of others. Not by a long stretch.
B) Only an idiot would think anyone knows who goes to college, or even care if they did.
C) I don't give a shit what the customers did or didn't do. Heather assaulted the police. That's why she's in trouble, not for cutting in line, which she admits to doing.

The former Mayor of the town was Charlie Brown! Wonder who the Chief of Police is, Linus? Pigpen? If you ask me, I think they're all a bit (pea)Nuts. I'd lay odds that it was Peppermint Patty who called her out for cutting the line, too.

See, now you're insulting the lesbians.

After slavery Black folks are entitled to cut in line especially if dey is white, Big swinging Dick Jesse Jackson along with the NAACP will see to it crackers know dey place from now on, word up to yo momma...

"Yes we know, you dislike brown skin people, we know."

No I was talking about little old Jewish ladies as a matter of fact. You would have to live there to understand. It isn't as if anyone cares anyway, these people are so old that it's just funny.

Time to revive "The People of Walmart":

www.peopleofwalmart.com

"Yes we know, you dislike brown skin people, we know."

"BROWN" What is that the new politically correct word for black people.

Danni I was in a relationship with a Jamaican girl less than a year ago. We didn't even talk about race because it obviously didn't matter. Even she was confused about what was politcally correct just look at all the choices...

1 Black
2 Colored
3 African American
4 Negro
5 Brown

And now we are supposed to add Brown to the list, why does the NAACP have colored in it's title when it should be the NAABP? Hurry Hurry someone tell the NAACP they better not say colored anymore better change it to NAABP...

"why does the NAACP have colored in it's title when it should be the NAABP?"

Or it become the National Association for the Advancement of African-American Brown People of Color.

NAAAABPC

(BTW, I'm just having fun with acronyms, but I'm sure someone will flag this as somehow racist. Which it is not. Humor requires intelligence, which is why it is so lacking in Liberals)

The important part here is not so much what she did, but how she was treated as a result.

She could of been treated like your run of the mill jackass going off at Wal-Mart who just happens to be black.

Or

She could of been treated with exception because she was not only a jackass douchebag, but she was a BLACK jackass douchebag.

Even amongst people I know, it would of been the difference between "That fucking asshole" vs "That fucking nigger bitch". What I want you all to understand, is its possible, "that fucking nigger bitch" got a harsher treatment than she would of gotten if she was just "that fucking asshole".

For the record I'm not ignoring the fact she seems to be almost if not entirely at fault.

101, this is a racist incident and the charge of assault on the police is complete bullshit as that kind of charge usually is. Instead of defusing the incident the police manipulated it. But the situation was already out of control before they even got there because it had begun as white racist cooperation inside the store. I believe Heather will be vindicated.

15 years in prison and three years of legal proceedings because a 21-year-old woman cut in line at Walmart and got into an altercation with police officers in which none of them had injuries mentioned in this story?

This prosecution sounds ridiculous. I don't know how anyone can think justice would be served by having this woman take up a prison spot that could've been used to lock up a murderer or sexual predator.

What is curious to me is we all know about the peopleofwalmart.com site, we all know what it's like to shop at a walmart, and have seen the bottom barrel of society that is unavoidable at a Walmart.

So the question that springs to my mind for everyone defending her with "Big deal she cut in line and got into it with the cops" or to something like that to some degree. When one goes to Walmart, you(I) expect this to happen.... So what caused this to escalate so far, who did what that made this so far over the top?

The press and the NAACP are covering up the truth here . They want to paint a pic of a sweet preachers daughter who has been treated bad by whites .
Look what I found on "sweet" Heather Renae Ellis. Check out just ONE page of her arrest record here !!
www.courts.mo.gov
This is NOT the first time she's been in trouble for being violent , it is NOT the first time she's resisted arrest in that town .
She makes black people look bad , she makes the NAACP look bad ( and they don't need help with that )She gets in trouble again and she plays the race card and every black in the country runs to her side . She has a history of this sort of thing . So why is the press not reporting that ??? Why is the press helping a criminal start a another race war ???

All I can say is woooooooow. After reading all these comments, i'm shocked and worried! I hope i don't live anywhere near most of you, but fear that some of you may be my neighbors....folks that i work with who smile in my face and verify my timesheets. Do you all live in the same United States that I live in? If so, i've been greatly disillusioned about who it is i fight for when i deploy to the middle east in support of operations. I guess this is my lesson in freedom of speech for the day. I'm a black woman and i'm not surprised that folks have the opinions i've read above.....i'm just bothered that you may be the same folks who smile in my face everyday.
ok, on to MY opinion on this topic:
I'm concerned that the facts aren't strong enough to support a prosecution, but that a prosecution will ensue anyhow.
So far, all we really know, is that she was confronted by the police and that she was arrested for assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace.
Missouri Penal Code 565.08(1,2and3)
law.justia.com
split assault on a police officer, peace officer, or emergency worker into three degrees and includes anything from recklessly coming in physical contact to knowingly and willingly attempting to physically harm or kill said persons.
You can also research for yourself, should you choose to actually be informed, what actions constitute being charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.
My point? Well she may very well be guilty of some of the charges.....but 15 years? So far all i've seen is a misdemeanor charge of assaulting the police officer (3rd degree based on the info available).....and therein lies the injustice. Disparities in charges and sentencing! 15 years is just ridiculous for all of these charges put together! Now, someone argue THAT point!

I went to the website you attempted to describe.....IF any one of those persons is her, those are traffic citations.....how clean is your driving record?

it is basically her word against 5 other officers. we all know how that is going to end. what was seen on the tape was "inconclusive". it shows her walking out and the officers following her? what happened at the car was not caught on tape so like i said, its her word against theirs. i do know that an officer's lips are not the Bible so just because they said she did it doesn't mean much. whether she did it or not I don't know. I wasn't there. but why has this been going on for 3 years?! and 15 years shouldn't surprise anyone. our "justice" system is a joke. rapists and murderers have gotten less. but hey...at least they didn't cut in line and raise their voice or get upset. shame on her.
