SNOOFY
I've been on record, on this site, for a long time, believing in evolution.
Your brain must not work.
Is an environment free of DDT better than one with it? Yes, EVERYONE knows that, and ALWAYS did.
Is an environment with a bug problem and no DDT better than an environment with a much smaller bug problem and significant DDT?......
......Not even close. You can DRINK DDT (people have, for decades, deliberately, just to prove the point). DDT is a TRIVIAL issue compared with the health hazards involved with bug problems. And as far as egg shells go, Rachel carson cooked her numbers.
Even much harsher chemicals (like in the raid can you buy at the store) are better for your health than having bugs.
So, yeah, non-chemical anti-bug solutions that work AT LEAST AS WELL as DDT, sure, they are better, but they DON'T EXIST.
Many choices are not a case of "Perfect good" vs "bad". They are much more commonly between "bad" and "worse". Clamping your hands over your ears and shouting "La La La!!!...." does not change the reality of things.
You need to live in a soviet union chemical dump city to even approach the problems of pestilence. Even then, its possible that significant pestilence is STILL worse.
