1 in 5 huh?
Are they counting children under 18 or something?
This sounds unbelievable enough to dismiss right off the bat, especially since they opened with...
Have you ever wondered why the CPI, GDP and employment numbers run counter to your personal and business experiences?

Thank you, George Bush.

Republicans like high unemployment. They can now mistreat their workers even more now. Nobody would dare up and quit a job now. They are stuck working for slave drivers.

Funny thing, back when Bush was president some of us tried to make the argument that the unemployment numbers they bragged about were bogus based on the exact same arguments now used by these folks. The Bushies, at the time, wouldn't accept those ideas for a second. Now, they trumpet them as if we've already forgotten that the economic disaster was created on Dubya's watch. I'd post Bush = Hoover except that Hoover was a very smart, very decent human being who actually did try to deal with the depression of 1929.

I know many times Nullifidian reminded -people of the Boston Federal reserve study about the Unemployment percent was 1 to 3 points higher than reported and Republicans here scoffed at that idea. Now those same assholes do the exact same thing with Obama trying desperately to denigrate Obama at all costs not taking into account this is Dubya's fault. Same song and dance with Republicans just different pew.

So you are saying unemployment is higher than being reported by the administration? If this is true, what happened to the change we were promised? Why do they continue to lie? Or is this the same as the change in Irag? Patriot Act? Afgan? Federal Spending?

I've been unemployed since August--outsourcing, my brother just got a job as a truck driver, but he was unemployed for over 3 months because the towing company he worked for went out of business. My sister in law went to school to be a medical assistant and is still unemployed after 8 months. Quite a few people that I know from my old job are still unemployed or ended up working minimum wage jobs. At least where I live, 20% seems about right.

That's right, douche!
Its just that fuel bill for the Citation X flights to the cow sales that's killing us cattle producers.
*sigh*
Maybe we can fuck some Latin American peasants out of their seeds or something to pay for it....
Dumbshit.

"U-6" is one of the unemployment numbers reported by the government's Bureau of Labor Statistics. It includes people who quit looking for work, while the numbers usually cited don't count these among the unemployed.
The fact that the 20% number runs counter to your personal and business experience says more about class-based segregation than the credibility of unemployment figures.
