Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

When Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan started shooting up the Soldier Readiness Processing Center at Fort Hood, Pfc. Marquest Smith dove under a desk. The Associated Press reported that "he lay low for several minutes, waiting for the shooter to run out of ammunition and wishing he, too, had a gun."

Neither Smith nor the other victims of Hasan's assault had guns because soldiers on military bases within the United States generally are not allowed to carry them. Last week's shootings, which killed 13 people and wounded more than 30, demonstrated once again the folly of "gun-free zones," which attract and assist people bent on mass murder instead of deterring them.

"bases within the United States generally are not allowed to carry them"

Gee, I wonder why!

Must be because the military is liberal (prompting the fox news fire and pitchfork brigade to nod in agreement)

Tis Funny and Ironic that when I want Federal National Parks Gun Free I am labeled a Liberal fraidy cat but On a Military base where it's inhabitance are SUPPOSEDLY trained in the respect and use of weapons including guns are forbidden from openly carrying them on base yet no liberal fraidy cat label is spewed. Too fucking funny and ironic to say the very least.

Larry

Where do you stupid shits think a soldier would secure his or her P.O.W. when doing PT? How about when performing details? How about when on training missions?

I'd also like to know what part of the word "uniform" escapes you.

In your simple world, we can entrust these people with a machine gun, claymores, and tanks, but we some how can't trust them with a pistol...

What a couple of dumb-fucks.

sound point, Larry.

19 - 25 yr olds, bored, filled with alcohol, and made to believe they are the baddest motherfucking killing machines on the planet.

Sure let them carry they're guns, what could go wrong?!?!

That being said I am kinda shocked there are so many unarmed on a military base lol.

Nice straw man argument.

FYI: I posted this article, and I'm very much a liberal Democrat.

But I believe in Conceal Carry, and open carry. And if I support that for us civilians, I certainly support it for military personnel.

I wonder how many of those victims would be alive if someone on the base was capable of putting the attacker down earlier.

It's amazing how many people think that people on a base carry their weapon around. Personally, I hated carrying my rifle around in Afgh. cause it just got in the way. I wasn't going off base (fobbit) anyway, so it was just burdensome.

Which is why the other side carries Kalashnikovs and Kalakovs (AK-74).

The Kalakov is smaller than most other assault riffles but packs a full punch.
