That 54% approval rating (mediamatters.org) must be keeping the guy awake at nights. But, please, stick with Rasmussen's downright weird "index" and check it on a daily basis like a bow-and-arrow hunter trying to figure out how tonight's date will go by examining the entrails of a lion-killed wildebeast.

AHAHAHAHA LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL...

BUT BUT What about hope and change I guess even liberals are starting to figure out the messiah is nothing more than BUSH on steroids...

Suckers...

Another Rasmussen poll from the "polls don't matter" crowd. Geepers.

Let me guess what the questions were...

Do you a) believe Obama is doing a bad job or b) doing a horrible job?

Why is it that Rasmussen is the always the lowest of all the polls?

That's easy,
They are more accurate than the others...

Whenever possible, I always opt for entrail reading, ATAXPAYER. My personal experience is that it's even more accurate than the Magic 8-Ball. As an over-the-top bonus you can eat the roadkill after giving those innards a thorough going-over.

Proof?

I see that claim bandied about quite readily, but never any proof.

Hope and change and socialism

Independent voters are sick and tired of him. He's never had the right, and the left will go along with anyone with a (D) after his name. It's the 30% or so in the middle that he's losing, more and more, every day.

If Obama wants to get anything done, he needs to hurry. In 2011, he'll be looking at a different Congress than he is now. But who knows? That actually benefited Clinton.

Had you clicked my link you would have seen such gems as:
John Marshal of Talking Points Memo has said, "The toplines tend to be a bit toward the Republican side of the spectrum, compared to the average of other polls. But if you factor that in they're pretty reliable. And the frequency that Rasmussen is able to turn them around because they're based on robocalls gives them added value in terms of teasing out trends."[13] Some have speculated that the reason Rasmussen's polls trend more Republican than other mainstream polls is simply that he samples likely voters.[14]

In 2004 Slate magazine "publicly doubted and privately derided" Rasmussen's use of recorded voices in electoral polls. However, after the election, they concluded that Rasmussen's polls were among the most accurate in the 2004 presidential election.[15] Near the end of the 2008 Presidential Election, progressive statistician Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com analyzed the eight national presidential tracking polls. Silver concluded that while none were perfect, "Rasmussen -- with its large sample size and high pollster rating -- would probably be the one I'd want with me on a desert island."[16]

Now, Obama's approval rating stands at 54 percent, roughly the same as in October but very different from the enthusiastic 74 percent in January just before he took office. And some 56 percent of people say the country is heading in the wrong direction, an uptick from 51 percent last month and 49 percent in Obama's first month as president.

Rasmussen does not put out polls......it puts out "entertainment pieces" the same as Beck & Hannity......

Funny watching O'tards try to paint one of most accurate polls as inaccurate.

It's not surprising. People can see the contradictions.

A white cop arrests a black professor and while admitting he does not know the facts of the case Obama claims the cop acted "stupidly".

A Muslim yells god is great and kills 13 soldiers and Obama says don't rush to judgment and has his staff hitting the talk shows all weekend warning of Muslim backlash and touting diversity.

How stupid are you all going to feel after Obama wins in 2012 after all the BS gloating you do over 1 poll over and over again?

This guy is a one termer right?

Going to be easy to remove from office in 2012 right? Easy as pie right?

Enjoy your disappointment ladies.

A white cop arrests a black professor and while admitting he does not know the facts of the case Obama claims the cop acted "stupidly".

What else is Rush making you say today? You just heard him say that didn't you?

It's why I point and laugh. You're a stupid fucking dittohead and I know it.

I love it. BoOb runs for the hills every time he's asked for proof of one of his lies.
He's a punk, a dummy, and a liar.

I don't think Obama is going to be a one termer if only because I can't picture the repubs picking a serious candidate. He'll have to get much lower on the scales for them to pick anything but a sacrificial lamb.

But pretending Rasmussen is an unreliable poll is a joke, and makes the pretender look stupid.

PRINCETON, NJ -- The Republican Party's image has gone from bad to worse over the past month, as only 34% of Americans in a Nov. 13-16 Gallup Poll say they have a favorable view of the party, down from 40% in mid-October. The 61% now holding an unfavorable view of the GOP is the highest Gallup has recorded for that party since the measure was established in 1992.

Rasmussen Poll shows 100% OF Americans COMPLETELY against the Democrats!

In a Rasmussen Poll which was conducted from September 19 through September 20 of "some likely voters" the results showed that all voters are completely against the Democrats.

Fighting against findings from an earlier criticism that Rasmussen Polls were unreliable "thumb on the scale" polls, the company released the following statement- "We do not want you to notice that there is something fishy going on here. We do not want you to think that Rasmussen favors any particular political party," said Rasmussen spokesperson Aryan McNation.

When asked about the poll conducted by rotary phone from September 19 to September 20, Rasmussen officials admitted that the poll was begun at 11:30 on the evening of September 19 and ended forty five minutes later at 12:15 AM September 20, 2009.

Also revealed was that the poll only asked five people their opinion about Democrats and all five of them were Republicans in Biloxi, Mississippi.

We asked Rasmussen for a copy of the question as it was worded to the participants; and the following was issued:

"Do you or Do you NOT favor the actions of our socialist, totalitarian, lying Democratic Party which wants to give our entire country to the Muslims and which wants to tax every working family into poverty and which hates America and wants to abort babies at random via satellite."

All of the participants were given the question worded the same way. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 100 points.

And the poll results showed that 100 percent of the voters are against the Democrats.

The poll also showed that 100 percent of Americans are going to vote Republican forever.

unfavorable view of the GOP is the highest Gallup has recorded for that party since the measure was established in 1992.

CHAPEL & MYSTERYTOY
This is what YOU should be worrying about. Your party is sinking to Green Party levels and you have NOTHING POSITIVE TO OFFER AMERICA.....only more bullshit about Obama......don't you think that your lies become increasingly more transparent and meaningless ?

Why do all my little leftist-socialist friends drop big loads in their trousers when someone brings up Rasmussen? Is it just because they don't like the numbers? They SHOULD check results and notice that Rasmussen is the MOST accurate of the pollsters. Rasmussen hit the elections earlier this month right on. From Pollster.com:

"As the chart above shows, that difference persists through the final round of surveys released today and late last week. On their final polls PPP, SurveyUSA and Rasmussen have Christie leading by an average of 4 points (46% go 42%) while the three live-interviewer surveys released earlier today by Quinnipiac University, Monmouth University and Democracy Corps had Corzine leading by an average of one point (41% to 40%)."

We all KNOW how THAT one turned out.
Even CNN had this to say:

@RasmussenPoll (Scott Rasmussen, founder, Rasmussen Report)

"If it's in the news, it's in our polls," boasts the Rasmussen Report Web site. We (thankfully) haven't noticed any polling numbers on Jon & Kate or Miss California, but if it's politics you're after, you can do a lot worse than links to fresh data from one of the nation's best-known pollsters.

The feed is frequently updated, giving all those politicians who claim they don't look at polls the chance to read up quickly before going back to pretending to study health care legislation."

The Political Science Department at Fordham did a study that ranked them No.1 With Pew. Using our little friends' rationale, I guess they don't belive ANYTHING that might be disadvantageous to Dear Leader. They probably believe that the unemployment rate is 2%. It's all OK though. They've been deluding themselves for decades, why stop now.

You're one dumb bastard, aren't you? lol!

Let's see, first you say "losers care about polls," then go on to post one from Gallup, because it happens to be one you like. Guess you're a loser!

Then you repeat the talking point that Rasmussen is slanted, when it's been shown that it's one of most accurate polls in the most recent elections. Guess accuracy is a slant!

How Rasmussen's right-wing bias has made it a laughing stock among major pollsters

There's are reasons most major news outlets don't often mention a Rasmussen poll. One reason is because their questions are designed to elicit responses that skew heavily to the right.

The second reason is that Rasmussen doesn't even use live operators or ask for voice responses. They robo-call their phone list sample, which is weighted more heavily to Republican households than the general demographic, and they tabulate based on phone keypad responses. There's no quality control in that polling - does voice mail or a fax machine produce tones that Rasmussen counts as "yes" responses? Nobody knows. Does no response produce a "yes" response? Nobody knows.

We do know that they're an outlier that always produces results that guarantee favorable Fox News coverage and always agree with the GOP talking points of the moment.

That's a little too coincidental for most news organizations to take seriously.

Rasmussen Caught With Their Thumb On The Scale
by Steve Singiser

During this year, the nightly polling and political wrap-up has always been rife with comments from Kossacks skeptical of any polling done by Rasmussen Reports.

Over the years, RR has been one of the most prolific pollsters in the game, and despite the fact that it is an open secret that founder Scott Rasmussen's political proclivities are well to the right of center, their numbers on campaigns have been on the fairway more often than not.

This year, however, it is hard not to go to their webpage and sense an agenda. Apparently, other people in the blogosphere have noticed it, too. Greg Sargent, for example

www.dailykos.com

Hmmmm, a link to a blog vs a Fordham study, the praise from his peers, as well as the actual poll results...

That's a tough one, Cork...

Oh wait, it's not tough at all. In fact it's right fucking there in print. "Most accurate" has a definition.

Why it's increasingly difficult to take Rasmussen polls seriously

The surveys seem to exist solely to advance GOP talking points. Meaning, Rasmussen at times appears to function less as a legitimate polling firm and more as the polling wing of the RNC. Today's new survey about Sarah Palin and the repercussions of her "No mas" moment is a perfectly example

mediamatters.org

Scott Rasmussen's Conservative-Friendly Question-Wording

Politico says that Barack Obama's foreclosure-mitigation plan is in political trouble because we're "a nation of Santellis". The basis for the piece is a Rasmussen poll which asks "Some people say that having the government subsidize mortgage payments for financially troubled homeowners puts the government in the position of rewarding bad behavior. Is the government rewarding bad behavior when it provides subsidies to those who are most at risk of losing their homes?" The results are 55 yes and 32 no.

Bad news for Barack Obama. But at the same time, when The Washington Post asked if people support Obama's plan over 60 percent said yes. And The New York Times got a similar result. The difference is striking:

The difference, obviously, is question-wording. Josh Marshall remarks parenthetically

yglesias.thinkprogress.org

Scott Rasmussen was a right wing hack before he was a pollster. When they are polling on straight up questions about politics, as one of the writers says, and as the Fordham study shows, they are, "on the fairway", mostly.

But their rightwing bias shows not only in the way they structure bias in their questions, but they way they robocall them to Repub homes.

Why else do you think you can look at RCP almost any day and Rasmussen is the outlier?

I have not problem with the actual results per se, which are that 40 percent of Republicans think her quitting the Alaska governorship will hurt her chances to run for the White House in 2012. The bizarre part is that the Rasmussen poll only asks Republican voters their opinion about Palin. Independents and Democrats are of no interest to the GOP-centric Rasmussen. (Just my hunch, but if those two voter groups had been included, I'm guessing the final results would have between 70-80 percent of voters think Palin's career move was a bad one.)
Couldn't be because there's any interest in republican views on Palin, you know, the ones who could select her in the primaries for the next presidential election.

The difference, obviously, is question-wording. Josh Marshall remarks parenthetically:

On the question of the quality of Rasmussen polls in general, I've been watching them closely now through at least two cycles. The toplines tend to be a bit toward the Republican side of the spectrum, compared to the average of other polls. But if you factor that in they're pretty reliable.

lol!

When they are polling on straight up questions about politics, as one of the writers says, and as the Fordham study shows, they are, "on the fairway", mostly.

Of course not, but if someone has a history of calling it correctly, I wouldn't dismiss them right out either just because I didn't like what they were saying, or because they aren't the same as everyone else.

What is laughable about Corky's littany of left wing criticism about Rasmussen, is the fact that even the most bias left leaning polls, also have his numbers dropping. I would bet those same pollsters Corky turns to are still invoking Bush and even that lightening bolt has fizzled... Of course the Gates incident and Obama ignoring the economy and Afghanistan in lieu of HC reform haven't helped his numbers. Not to mention the victories in NJ and VA which point to more bad news for this Administration...

These polls are what they are. Of course the partisans try to either desperately cling to the one poll that shows what they want to hear despite all the others painting a different picture, or dismiss the one poll that shows what they don't want to hear even though it's been the most accurate in recent elections. It's all bull shit but par for the course.

gee, even FOX has Obama at +9. Every polling organization (except Rasmussen)has him in positive numbers.

How can they all be wrong and Rasmussen right?
