JPW, our DR expert in vaccination science may be interested to know there is a open debate at the University of Texas, Austin.

JPW was challenged to back up his repeated claims that Dr. Tenpenny has been thoroughly debunked by a number of reputable scientists. JPW supplied a link to an anonymous blogger named "Orac", who describes himself as "the nom de blog of a (not so) humble pseudonymous surgeon/scientist with an ego just big enough to delude himself that someone, somewhere might actually give a rodent's posterior about his miscellaneous verbal meanderings, but just barely small enough to admit to himself that few will."

JPW, be sure you (or Orac) send your best question to the debate. No excuses will be tolerated when this is over about no opporunity to prove your claims.

University of Texas at Austin? They have a lab that does some interesting work on viral evolution. Should Dr. Bull decide to waste his time debunking this crackpot in person, it would be rather entertaining.

Perhaps that is one possibility. Or perhaps if she performs as expected by those who sponsored this event based on her impeccable record, maybe this event will serve to - - as you state, "debunking [you two] as crackpots"

I'll be interested to find any video or audio of the "debate."

The problem with this format is it's not easy to correct misstatements or false assertions, as it requires time to search and read literature. Because of this, distorters and shucksters like Tenpenny thrive in this sort of format.

And of course, those who invited her will declare her and her lackey the victor regardless of what actually happens.

It's starting in an hour. Did you or your buddy Orac get your question in?

Sounds like you've resolved yourself to the latter possibility --that she will perform well. Nice try. It is not a political debate where each side declares victory. LOL. How transparent!

To address your statement, get real! There is an opponent, Dr Tom Betz [let me guess, you will call him a putz now so Tenpenny may be villified]. You act like she is simply making a speech and nobody would know any better. How transparent can you be? Actually, that scenario is similar to you "debating" many in DR who have common-sense objections to vaccinations. We also would have to 'do the research and read the literature' as you say in order to see through you. How ironic!

The debate was taped. It went very well. "It could have gone for another hour easily", Dr Tenpenny noted. Hopefully we'll be able to see full details of what happened.

Before the event, debate opponent Dr. Tom Betz stated he was asked to do the debate because nobody else wanted to do it. [hopefully i state this correctly:] It was the first time known that a public health official debated the topic in an open forum. Also, he stated they have had these before and they didn't go well.
