The best governmental setup, based on current political parties and attitudes:

A House of Rep that is slightly heavy with social liberals.
A Senate slightly heavy with fiscal conservatives.
A President that was drafted. That's right, pull his or her name out of a fishbowl and MAKE that poor bastard serve as the CinC for four years. Of course, once the term is done, he's out and can't be forced to serve again.

The Presidency is the only job in the country in which someone should be drafted.

/And since I didn't mention it, term limits on the Legislative and the Judicial.

The recent elections are a snap of the recent elections and not necessarily something to foretell in the future.

But it's fun to talk about it.

Problem with Obama is that he may be popular personally but his policies suck.

He goes to NJ 5 times and the independents shifted 20 points from when he won in 2008 to the repub candidate.

He goes to VA twice for Deeds and he shifts the electorate 18 points from when he won in 2008.

Zogby used to be among the most accurate of pollsters according to the Right, until he began having results Limbaugh didn't like.

I doubt anyone here thought or pretended this poll was useful. It doesn't even qualify as interesting. I mean seriously what do you care what the majority thinks, they're a bunch of idiots anyway.

What is interesting is when the majority elects a democrat, then it's "The people have spoken." When they elect a Republican then it's "The people are idiots."

Numbers from last weeks election, shows that the Republicans won the independent vote by 2:1 margin, and they won the likely voter count by a 2:1 margin.

During electons in 2008 30 million likely voters stayed home, and there was big surge in un-likely voters. It will be hard to get un-likely voters to come out in 2010 without President Obama on the ticket.

Now 2012 that is another story.

Meanwhile, 26% believe in ghosts and 50% declare themselves "conservative" yet cant/don't/wont conserve anything (including their own money).
