The House of Representatives voted on Saturday to tighten a ban against using federal funds to finance abortions under the proposed Democratic healthcare reform legislation. The anti-abortion amendment angered liberal Democrats who support abortion rights, but its passage helped win backing for the legislation.

Like this won't cost more.

Like this won't lead to rationing.

Like this won't further bankrupt the nation.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

We can only pray that it does as intended. With the behind the scenes secrecy and conniving I doubt it.

Excellent! As it should be....

Abortion should not be used as a birth control method anyway.

No shit. Last night was hilarious. Democrats proved to the world they are duplicitous clowns. Transparency. Swamp Draining.

2010.

Oh, and the hugely expensive joke won't make it through the Senate.

Abortion should not be used as a birth control method anyway.

Have you checked the air pressure in your houses tires lately?

Do you have evidence indicating that the poor are more likely to terminate pregnancies than rich college kids are? Cuz the usual way of denigrating the less fortunate is to point to the number of poor unwed mothers.

It doesn't matter if rich or poor--tax dollars should never and have never been used to pay for abortions.

I am guessing that there were 40 dems who voted for the HC bill because Stupak's amendment was passed.

It doesn't matter if rich or poor--tax dollars should never and have never been used to pay for abortions.

Actually, TriCare covers abortion when the mother's life is at risk.

I think that abortions should be mandatory for a few years. Ever notice how many people who are having babies have shitty pets?

We should install large flights of stairs outside every OB-GYN.

I shouldn't pick on you, JT, as you don't try and annoy me. But just can't help myself.

Some habits are too hard (and too much fun) to break. lol

Agghhh, relatives visiting from Hades. Why me, Lord?

Hasn't in the rest of the industrial world.

Reality and the right....

btw-I expect this amendment won't stand a court challenge.

Why shouldn't they, murphy?

Think of the tax dollars wasted on Murphy's "education".

If we lowered taxes enough we could make everything government does be deficit spending. If we listen to Republicans that is what they want us to do.

I fuggn told you guys this would happen, or it would fail.

n'yeah n'yeah n'yeahyeah

Do you think some of the demons left Pelosi's presence, or do you think they turned on her?

An easier option would be to cut spending. But we all know that is impossible because all of the children in the US would starve and all of the adults would die due to lack of health care. So we will continue down the road to bankruptcy. BTW, During this 'economic downturn', Al Gore has made over $50 million over the past couple of years with his global warming scam. I'm glad he is a man of the people.

Much better to have tax dollars pay for the resulting health costs from botched back alley abortions.

Of course consulting with the ruling Catholic Bishops is nothing like basing political policy in Iran based on the muslim clerics.

Obviously seperation of church and state means nothing to "conservatives".

Snoofy, there is a hell of a difference between financing someone's mistake versus paying for an abortion when the mom's life is at stake. One is for recreational purposes and the other is a necessity. You'd be hard pressed to find a Republican that is against saving the mom's life if it came down to it. However, I don't feel I should fund abortions just because she can't seem to grasp the concept behind contraceptives.

Lonnie

There are a bunch of socalistic dems members of congress that better watch out because many are about to loose their jobs.

Pass or fail. They won't get one more red cent from me. The benifits of working for yourself is that you can write off expenses. That or I'll just pass on the tax to my customers. Pelosi and her ilk can go pump sand.

Good luck with that audit bait.

There are all kinds of ways to expense things. Remember, lawyers wrote the tax laws and built in loopholes for themselves. You just have to know where to find them.

And *this* is why I'm an ex-Republican. When that "smaller government" aspect of your party goes back to social issues, give me a call.

Otherwise, as long as you're in favor of MORE GOVERNMENT regulation, sticking your nose into my bedroom, my life and my wife's uterus, you can continue to dwindle into obscurity for all I care...

Hypocrites.

There are all kinds of ways to expense things.

Last I checked, there were two.... legally and illegally.
