A major climate change bill passed out of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee amid a Republican boycott this morning, setting the stage for other panels to amend the legislation. The final vote was 11-1. Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT)--whose Senate Finance Committee probably have its own crack at the bill--was the lone hold out. No Republicans showed up to vote.

Another job killing bill. Thank you Senate Dems for killing more jobs.

Party of No...No show

The Republican party doesn't want to be associated with a job killing bill such as this one. Why would they show up?

What's wrong with voting No, get on the record.

Since when does the Republican party give a rat's ass about jobs?

Their corporate CEO buddies, are outsourcing as fast as they can, and the republicans stood by and watched it happen.

Unemployment extension passed 98-0 yet the Senate republicans delayed the bill over 90 times.

The plan is clear, slow or stop all legislation and get to mid terms.

I do hope they kill the health care bill, crap and trade, and card check. Hoepfully by 2010 the Dems will lose their filibuster proof mayority. I hope it's not too late by 2010, I hope America hasn't been radically transformed into something foreign.

Was this a cap 'n' trade bill? (i.e. fuck the environment, let's make some money)

They erroneously thought they'd prevent a vote and the bill would be prevented from being passed out of committee. They thought wrong.

Too little, too late.
