Eric Boehlert: The breathless claim that Fox News' ratings recently spiked thanks to the White House's public critique is bogus hype -- hype that Fox News and the Beltway press have relentlessly pushed.< It's just not true.

Fox News lie? Impossible.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Why does it matter? Why should audience size be an indication of accuracy?

Fox News beats all other cable news networks, but loses to network news.

Watch it or don't, why blog about it?

From the looks of things this has been bothering you for awhile. Glad you got it off your chest. You can safely go back to believing Keith Olbermann when he says MSNBC is ranked #1.

It isn't, but fox lied ... again.

No, I just wanted to post the entire article for people who have problems with links at work. Thanks for playing, poor mans psychic.

I'd like to see a link to that, cuz MSNBC aint #1. Did he actually say that?

I watch Keith and he never claims MSNBC is #1 in cable, but he was delighted that CNN fell beneath them. Mainly because of Lou Dobbs.

Watch it or don't, why blog about it?

Because this article is a perfect example of how fox blatantly lies, and the "liberal media" runs with it as fact.

rumor is that Rush, Beck & O'Reiley will be buying CNN soon

**** Fox news lies ***

.....would be bigger news if Fox did not lie.....

CNN is tanking and they invented cable news. I guess people don't like it when they make up stories about Rush Limbaugh and then don't fire the people involved. At least tne NYT got rid of Jayson Blair, give them credit for that.

Oh good. Another Fox thread. Anything to keep libtards busy with anything besides Afghanistan (what to do?), unemployment (it should be over 10% tomorrow morning), Goldman Sachs' record profits and bonuses, credit contraction . . .

Good thing Fox is around. It'll be hard to pass the time between the Rush and the Palin threads. Nice to have another boogeyman for the libbies to occupy themselves with.

And CBS for all it's faults got rid of Dan Rather. Nothing from CNN regarding smearing LImbaugh, nope.

Oh, another TRUTH BE TOLD thread.

I like these threads as they clearly display those who have disdain for it.

Enjoy your reading!

This article is nothing but hype. Did you guys actually read it? They're admitting there was a 7% increase in the 25-54 demo.

Anyone and everyone that has worked with ratings knows that's good. They also know there's a 1,000 ways to play with numbers.
Regardless, in their hurry to whine, they simply bolster the ratings jump.

On the whole, who besides mediamatters gives a shit?

Fox News' total day ratings virtually flatlined.

Time to get out the defibrillator and apply it to O'Reilly and Hannity. Better yet, time to hire Sarah, the Pit "Bull", Palin for an instant ratings boost.

so why then did cnn reportedly offer orielly millions of cash..

and media matters....let me be one of the first for the obligatory 'source alert' posts.

media matters has an interest in demeaning fox...
thier LIBERAL MASTERS named soros brought them in and he can take them out

You forgot to mention ACORN Bush Lover.

Man, you're slipping these days.........

And 101 didnt mention Jesse Jackson or mud people, Many...waddya know?

The dementia meds are failing AFK. I haven't watched fox in forever. CNN does the fairest newscast instead of biased bs. When the political cycle heats up and facts are needed their ratings will climb again.

"...on October 15, Fox News averaged 1.5 million viewers for the day. The next day, the total audience slipped to 1.3 million, a drop of more than 10 percent. Did that mean Fox News' ratings "plunged"? Hardly""

But those are Thursday-to-Friday comparisons, and viewship is expected to drop on Friday, as weekenders are interested in other pursuits than television.

"Again, between October 1 and October 2, Fox News' total day 25-54 demo decreased from 415,000 to 320,000 viewers -- a drop of almost 25 percent."

Again, a Thursday-to-Friday comparison.
