I know Obama gladly signed the legislation when it came back to the WH, but the fact Congress insists on throwing more money at programs that don't work proves they are clueless.

In Kerry's Journal - and later in Pages 213 through 219 from Tour of Duty: John Kerry and the Vietnam War, by Douglas Brinkley (New York: HarperCollins, 2004) Kerry tells ending his first of 4 months in 'Nam on a Swift Boat by going toward Cambodia from a town called Sa Dec (55 miles south of the border) and 8 to 10 hours later noting a motar that night (3 minutes after the Truce began - as I recall the truce began at 10 pm usually) and - in the book and on the Senate floor in 86 - recalls sitting just over the border in Cambodia before heading back to Sa Dec. His commander had note that many of the heroic deeds done by Kerry were his acting against orders - and apparently this was one of those times since he was not authorized to go over the border into Cambodia. The next 3 months includes 2 full months under Nixon's presidency.

Now the GOP spin the above by saying that Kerry in the book replaces the over the border into Cambodia on Christmas Eve story with a with a report about a mortar attack that occurred on Christmas Eve 1968 "near the Cambodia border" in a town called Sa Dec, some fifty-five miles from the Cambodian border and that it was not under Nixon.

But that was not what Kerry said.

No official documentation of any accidental or other incursion by either of Kerry's boats has been discovered. In addition, none of Kerry's crewmates have confirmed ever being sent to Cambodia. One of Kerry's crewmen, SBVT member Steven Gardner,[62] asserted that it was physically impossible to cross the Cambodian border, as it was blocked and patrolled by PBRs (a type of patrol boat);[63] however, Kerry's boat was evidently patrolling with PBRs during the mission in question.[64] Some crewmembers have, moreover, stated that they may at some point have entered Cambodia without knowing it. James Wasser, who was on PCF-44 on that December mission, while saying that he believed they were "very, very close" to Cambodia, did not recall actually crossing over; he also stated that it was very hard to tell their exact position in the border area. Kerry's own journal entry on this, written the night of the mission, does not specifically say they entered Cambodia. However, it does state that PCF-44 was somewhere "toward Cambodia" to provide cover for two smaller patrol boats, and in sarcasm, that he considered messaging Christmas greetings to his commanders "from the most inland Market Time unit" and that a court martial for the incident "would make sense"[65] In addition, George Elliott noted in Kerry's fitness report that he had been in an ambush during the 24 hour Christmas truce, which began on Christmas Eve.[66]
Michael Meehan, a spokesman for the Kerry campaign, responded to SBVT's charges with a statement that Kerry was referring to a period when Nixon had been president-elect and before he was inaugurated. Meehan went on to state that Kerry had been "deep in enemy waters" between Vietnam and Cambodia and that his boat came under fire at the Cambodian border. Meehan also said that Kerry did covertly cross over into Cambodia to drop off special operations forces on a later occasion, but that there was no paperwork for such missions and he could not supply dates.[67]
Based on examination of Kerry's journals and logbook, historian Douglas Brinkley placed the covert missions soon after Christmas. In an interview with the London Daily Telegraph, Brinkley stated that Kerry had gone into Cambodian waters three or four times in January and February 1969 on clandestine missions, dropping off U.S. Seals, Green Berets, and CIA operatives. Brinkley added:
" He was a ferry master, a drop-off guy, but it was dangerous as hell. Kerry carries a hat he was given by one CIA operative. In a part of his journals which I didn't use he writes about discussions with CIA guys he was dropping off.[68][69] "

In an interview with Tim Russert on "Meet the Press," Kerry corrected his 1979 statement about being "five miles across the border" on Christmas Eve, but reiterated that he was on a patrol at the border at that date and had been sent on a covert mission at a later date.[70]

Nor should they have the right to search any farmers field for their genetically modified seeds. Nor should they have the right to patent 2000 year old Indian grain seeds. But they do, because our Courts, which Canada mimicks in many ways, are stacked with Corporate shills. What many people call "Conservatives" control the legal system rendering it Government of, by and for the Corporation.

The ARVN went in for a limited time about the same time as the U.S. forces. Whether or not they took orders from the USA or not I can't tell you. All I know is that there were no U.S forces in Cambodia until 1970. First time I landed in Vietnam was 1958. I was in and out all through the 60's and I was there in '69 and again in '71 for the last time so I missed the cambodian phase in '70.. How is it anyone can ignore Kerry's own words on the Senate floor, as a journalist, and from his own biography? Three different occasions, three different years. In 1992, The Associated Press interviewed Mr. Kerry about his Vietnam experience. Again, the Cambodian story resurfaced: "By Christmas 1968, part of Kerry's patrol extended across the border of South Vietnam into Cambodia. 'We were told, "Just go up there and do your patrol." Everybody was over there (in Cambodia). Nobody thought twice about it,' Kerry said." Then, in a Boston Globe report from last summer, Mr. Kerry slightly changed his Cambodia story: "To top it off, Kerry said, he had gone several miles inside Cambodia, which theoretically was off limits." If it was "theoretically off limits," who gave Mr. Kerry the order to enter Cambodia, as he asserted numerous times before?
