Conservative Party candidate in the NY 23 special election goes on Glenda Beck's show and after agreeing with the Beckster that Climate Change is not totally man made and then french-kissing his ass shamelessly fer a few minutes Doug Hoffman goes on to state that Beck is one of his "Good Mentors".

GlendA Beck, Rachel Madcow, Keith Oldbuggermann, Katie Cowlick, Dan Blather, Bill O'liely - where does it end, Spudley?

Anybody been paying attention to the NY 23 special election? Spud is finding it fascinating, albeit almost too weird fer werds at times. In a nutshell here's the timeline. Obama taps sitting Repub fer army gig creating the need fer a special election. GOPhers put up Scozzafava fer a candidate. Scary "teh Kingmaker" Palin then opens her wide piehole and declares Scozz "too liberal" and shows support fer noted teabagger and all around wingnut Doug Hoffman. The Usual Suspects Beck, Rush, Malkin et al join in the chorus. Scozzafava, effectively sez "Fark this!" and drops from race after declaring support fer the Dem candidate over the rtarded nutball Hoffman. Now everyone from Malkin to Beck to Rush to Scary to Savage and all affiliated teabaggers are savaging her from their bully pupits and in the RW blogs.

Northern NY state is wotcha call a bastion of republicanism. 160 straight years of it. Now a race that wasn't even supposed to be close is in question. Similar situations in Virginia and New Jersey as well.

Watching the rtarded teabagger set drive the few remaining sane moderate republicans out of the party effectively killing their chances fer the forseeable future is amusing as all get out fer the tater o' doom.

These people think Reagan was a RINO.

Be Well.

/As he do
stage left.

//Hopefully Rogers wipes that second thread at some point.

"Watching the retarded teabagger set drive the few remaining sane moderate republicans out of the party effectively killing their chances fer the foreseeable future is amusing as all get out fer the tater o' doom." - DethSpud

Sure is. Popcorn sales are through the roof.

After being prodded by Beck to say climate change is not caused by human activity, Hoffman announced, "Well, I think there's a lot of debate on there. I don't believe that it's totally manmade." (TOTALLY? So, Hoffman may not be 100% certified..) Beck cohost Pat Gray praised Hoffman's lurch to the right, noting "he's getting stronger every second." Beck chimed in, agreeing, "He's getting stronger, there it is, every second." Hoffman then groveled:

PAT: Every second. What about

HOFFMAN: I have good mentors here.

(Hoffman begins to simultaneously put on knee pads while inserting his nose up Beck's butt)

GLENN: Wait, wait. Wait, wait. Are they mentors that will show "

HOFFMAN: I'm talking about you, Glenn.

(Nose fully inserted 'til eyebrows touch butt cheek)

GLENN: Oh, okay. I was going to say all right, as long as they are standing out from the shadows. [...]

HOFFMAN: No. Yeah, well, I'm going to keep in touch with people like you so I don't get infected with that disease.
(knee pads fully bearing weight, Hoffman checking for polyps in Beck's colon)

One thing I'll say for Keith Olbermann, he or someone on his staff or someone else he talked to is dead-on in bestowing "Lonesome Rhodes" (video.search.yahoo.com) on Glennnn "Only They're Even More Stupid Than I Am, So I Gotta Think For Them" Beck as the comedian's nom de bouffe, right down to his Vic's VapoRub-induced crying jags (rawstory.com).

Glen Beck is Thod.

Dede Scozzafava was NOT a Moderate Republican!!

She was a democrat!

She was a fake rino.

She pretends to be a rino but she was really a dem.

This is what is wrong with Conservatives in this country.

They consider uneducated drug addicts to be their Mentors.

So you can see right there why we point and laugh at them and their stupidity.

And when the repubs pull off a trifecta (NJ really really close)--many will spin the meaning.

'There was low turn out'.

'It's local races--so what'.

'Obama is still popular'!!

The meaning won't be a much as some will claim.

But the blue dogs will whimper.

The meaning won't be a much as some will claim.

Do your best to remember that.

AND ON A RELATED NOTE

michellemalkin.com

come on manypaths....

you want to get a list of drug addicts and put thier political bent after the name. I am pretty sure there will be more on the "LEFT" column on that list.

Sure Bush Lover, and make sure you attach a quote from a leading Dem contender calling them a "Good Mentor"

Bet you can't, Fuckstick and you know it.

Virginia is not close. NJ is only close because of the independant. Scozzafava makes the ding dong in Maine (Snow) look like a hard right conservative. Scuzz bag endorses the DEM candidate? Sour grapes. She will go the way of the Specter.

She wasn't a repub to begin with. Picked by idiots who are running the back room of the party. They are the ones who have to go.

Spector may lose the Dem primary in PA.

The Good Mentor for the Dems are George Soros and Podesta..oh--and Andy Stern..

Says you Murphy.

Show me a Dewm in Congress that considers them Mentors and please provide a quote of them saying so.

Again:

This is what is wrong with Conservatives in this country.

.....a man who lets Beck do his thinking for him...

.....hmm.....

.....brings up the question, how far right can the Repubs go without falling off the electoral map ?.......

WH Communications director Anita Dunn can talk to high school kids about Mao Zedong being "one of the two people that I turn to most."

But a grassroots contender can't call a radio/TV personality a mentor. Quit your whining and follow what people, who are actively making policy, say.

This is just another attempt to make the conservative out to be some right-wing extremist.

If he wins, watch it be drummed up as a Fox News-led conspiracy. It's gonna be like picking up shit off of astroturf.

That Hoffman can rise up at such a late date to win is a testament to the power of conservatism.

When Reps run as unabashed conservatives they generally do quite well. Then they run as Dem-lite, they don't.

The opposite is also true. Look what happened to Leiberman, only a handful of years removed from his party's VP nomination. He was deemed not lib enough during the primary and lost. Well, there was no New York primary (that I know of) where Hoffman and the lady could duke it out. Party insiders chose her. The people spoke.

Rev. Wright ring a bell?

Compared to the batshiat insanity coming out of the mouths of fundie preachers who support the radical rtarded right these days Rev Wright looks like a fount of calm and wisdom.

The way FOX and other right wing media outlets tried to foster racial tensions with their incessant "scary black preacher" crap about Wright in their attempts to stop Obama's campaign deserves more scorn and approbation than anything Wright ever sed.

Spud realises the "Wright is Wrong and a Wracist" meme has become a truism on the right by now but Spud still feels compelled to point out from time to time that it's still utter bullshit.

......I don't think so.......

....the Repubs are moving too far from the center, focusing on hot button issues they can't change anyways, even if they get elected.......

.....it doesn't really matter if you are for or against abortion, because you are not going to change the law anyways, so why waste time focusing on meaningless things like that and gay marriage ??

......the Gop is just turning into the Cranky Party, the Party of No, even the ones who hold office are abdicating legislating in favor of pontificating.........

WH Communications director Anita Dunn can talk to high school kids about Mao Zedong being "one of the two people that I turn to most.

She was speaking ironically to a group of graduates.

Now Spud knows that irony, like common decency, honesty or logic, is often beyond the ken of the average rtard so Spud'll break you off a crumb of truth here and try to use really tiny werds to do so.

The way Beck, Malkin and others took that remark out of context and falsely portrayed Dunn as being an actual admirer of Mao makes them look like the assholes here not Dunn.

The way Beck and Malkin's mouth-breathing, shallow end-of-the-gene-pool base ate those lies up without pausing to consider that they were being played is just further indication (not that we needed it) that the people who actually think Beck, Malkin Rush et al are worthy mentors are themselves mental cases with room temperature IQs.

See: Doug Hoffman

I personally don't care about the future of the party, but for integrity's sake, I'll take issue.

Should the Repub party listen to people like you who have no interest in their well-being? Wouldn't you love it if they would become more like you (advocate for career politicians who stump on the populous as opposed to strong personally-held convictions)? What right or credibility do you have to make such a statement?

WH Communications director Anita Dunn can talk to high school kids about Mao Zedong being "one of the two people that I turn to most.

Spud, you make an unsubstantiated "irony" claim, then call anyone who doesn't agree a-holes. For the sake of your own credibility, post strong evidence to make your point!

......I don't think they are going to ask my opinion or even care about it....nor should they....

.....I was just pointing out, that they are not presenting a credible alternative to the democrats for future elections.......

......they are still fighting the 2008 election, and still pouting and pissy because they are'nt winning....if they keep up that behavior, will it get them elected in 2010 & 2012 ?..........

......strategically, after they lost 2008, they should have just started working hard in committees without ideological blinders on, forget beating dead horses, and constantly lying about red herring issues, and obstructing work.....sooner or later, voters would get tired of the Dems, as voters always get tired of whoever is in charge, and then turn to the alternative.........

......this way, the Repubs are not giving the voters an alternative, because they are behaving even more repulsively then the Democrats........

........they have adopted a losing strategy....

What right or credibility do you have to make such a statement?

Yer too easy.

As for Beck's criticism: "The use of the phrase 'favorite political philosophers' was intended as irony, but clearly the effort fell flat -- at least with a certain Fox commentator whose sense of irony may be missing.

Wanna know wot the kicker is?

That Mao quote?

"Politics is War without Blood and War is Politics with Blood"

Famed republican dirty tricks strategist and all around douche-nozzle Lee Atwater quoted back in the 80s, that's where Dunn got it from initially.

"The Mao quote is one I picked up from the late Republican strategist Lee Atwater from something I read in the late 1980s, so I hope I don't get my progressive friends mad at me," Dunn told CNN.

You wanna talk about lack of credibility then yer talking about Glenn Beck.

That fucktard deliberately truncated Dunn's entire sentence in order to make it appear to his brain dead legion of sheeple that Dunn dug Mao when in fact the truth is far more banal.

"The third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers: Mao Tse-tung and Mother Theresa -- not often coupled with each other, but the two people I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point which is 'you're going to make choices; you're going to challenge; you're going to say why not; you're going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before."

In other words, she found their words handy to make a universal and fairly banal point about being true to one's self. That's all. No Mao-worship.

You also can hear laughter from the audience when Dunn couples Mao and Mother Teresa, so at least it's clear that some in the audience got the joke. Glenn Beck didn't.

Most of all, he doesn't get that crude and hamhanded dishonesty like this only proves Anita Dunn's point, in spades.

That fucktard deliberately truncated Dunn's entire sentence in order to make it appear to his brain dead legion of sheeple that Dunn dug Mao when in fact the truth is far more banal.

He played much more of the tape than a 'truncated' sentence.

She had zero humor or sarcasm in her voice or her body language when she made her comment.

I am not surprised though that you would buy her bullshit rationalization, WAY after being called-out, as gospel.

He played much more of the tape than a 'truncated' sentence.

Did you even watch the video, Jeff?

He clearly truncated her sentence deliberately.

Not once but twice.

He also, Spud is notice upon second perusal of the thing truncated her remarks in response to his first attack on her.

"The use of the phrase 'favorite political philosophers' was intended as irony, but clearly the effort fell flat -- at least with a certain Fox commentator whose sense of irony may be missing.

Got the first part, missed the second fer some reason.

Face it. Glenn Beck has less credibility than a carnie selling 20 dollar Rolexxx watches out of the back of a truck at midnight.

She had zero humor or sarcasm in her voice or her body language when she made her comment.

Are you retarded, Jeff?

Watch the vid.

She is CLEARLY making a joke.

Anita aint Wanda Sykes but the audience certainly laughed in the right place.

I am not surprised though that you would buy her bullshit rationalization, WAY after being called-out, as gospel.

Spud shouldn't be surprised to find Jeff out on end of a very slender limb here actually DEFENDING GLENN BECK'S CREDIBILITY.

And yet Spud is.

Wot happened, Jeff?

You used to be cool, man!

^_^

Be Well.

/Seriously, dudem if you actually think fer one second that Mao is one of Dunn's "good mentors" (so to speak) then you have really got to stop guzzling that rtard koolaid ASAP.

You've been totally played here, Jeff, and Spud thought you at least out of all the RW assholes on this site would be bright enuff to see how transparently you've being played here, but sadly, not so much.

* deep sigh *

Spud,

I watched the video and detected zero humor or sarcasm in her voice or body language - and that went well beyond a truncated sentence.

If you have access to a more thorough video, please link it. I know how easily comments like these can be taken out of context. If the totality of her comments reveal sarcasm and/or delayed humor, I will gladly recant and join your condemnation of Beck.

In fact, if what you say is true, I will take it a step further. I will draft an email to his personal website lambasting him for his dishonesty and will gladly forward you a copy (I think I still have your email addy).

Seriously, I DESPISE edited quotes in order to create a false impression.

Glenn Beck has less credibility than a carnie selling 20 dollar Rolexxx watches out of the back of a truck at midnight.

Ironically, that was his last job.

But thanks to Hoffman and beck and SARAH!!, the Dems picked up another seat.

Teabag on, NOPpers!

-But thanks to Hoffman and beck and SARAH!!, the Dems picked up another seat.

Thanks to Obama, too, who wisely picked the last seat holder for a Pentagon job..... where he couldn't hurt anyone.

To me, The link somewhat made the point. GB twice played it out of context and made his judgment on that separately from playing it in full context. Yet, they equate the crowd laughing as the fact that "they get the joke". It could also be just a very awkward moment where they react with a laugh.

I found the CNN link a waste of time. It didn't address the controversy, just addressing Van Jones and the Fox feud.

To me, what is not yet corroborated was the Republican strategist reference. She makes a very odd assertion ""The Mao quote is one I picked up from the late Republican strategist Lee Atwater from something I read in the late 1980s". Where is this quote? Is she referring to a book that he either wrote on made the famous quotation?

Why has this not been affirmatively answered even yet?

JeffJ, perhaps you would like to defend GB on the challenge I made earlier (#19)?

Contrarian,

I have no interest in defending Beck's credibility.

I watched his show twice this week when bed-ridden with the flu - I thought I'd pile on to my misery. To be fair though, he based his commentary of Obama's radical appointments on actual video of their own words/comments; and it wasn't cut-up and edited, as Spud tried to argue. It was their actual words - which is no surprise that Spud tucked tail when I asked for a link to more complete video, in context, that proved Beck was being deliberately disengenuous with his presentation of these creeps' views based upon recordings of their own words.

I watched his show twice this week when bed-ridden with the flu

#39 | Posted by JeffJ

did you have swine flu?

Lip,

No.

Respiratory flu and it lasted a week.

It was nasty, but from my understanding H1N1 is even worse.

and it wasn't cut-up and edited, as Spud tried to argue.

Bullshit.

He cut her sentence off TWICE, Jeff.

A more complete video?

Did you want the commercials too?

He also cut her sentence off when he quoted her response to him.

Tucked tail?

There is no denying the evidence of Glenn Beck transparent dishonesty and disingenuousness in making it appear Dunn was a "radical" as you so blithely parrot.

You can try Jeff to deny it but you will FAIL.

In fact you already have.

Here's a clue, Jeff, as you've obviously been wallowing in the muck that is rtard teevee as of late and have become detached from reality.

Glenn Beck is moron, a propagandist and a obvious, odious liar.

His transparent actions here have proven Dunn to be correct about why Fox does not deserve any credibility or legitimacy wotsoever by any thinking individual.

Not that anyone paying the slightest attention needed more proof by this point.

Obama is not a dangerous, radical socialist he's a freaking moderate, a centrist and, sadly, a corporatist pretty much like everyone else in DC.

If you learn nothing else today, Jeff, at least learn that much.

Yeesh.

Be Well.

Obama is not a dangerous, radical socialist he's a freaking moderate, a centrist and, sadly, a corporatist pretty much like everyone else in DC.

#42 spud

wow spud, you've taken a giant leap. I was partly with you on a conclusion about GB on logical deduction (yet you couldn't justify it completely), but let's not get carried away on a position you most definitely cannot back up.

You're definitely 120% correct on "corporatist like most everyone in DC"
