Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Monday, October 26, 2009

On Friday, it seemed for a moment -- at least to Rush Limbaugh's listeners -- that the right had finally found the smoking gun to prove that President Obama secretly hates the U.S., its founders and even the Constitution.

Limbaugh read his radio audience an excerpt from what he said was Obama's senior thesis, which he wrote while at Columbia University. After more than a year shrouded in secrecy by the Obama campaign and a compliant media, the thesis had finally emerged, and it was even worse than some had feared.

"Limbaugh Bamboozled By Fake Story"

You do realize that he said in the same show that he knew the thesis was fake and that he just thought it fit what his concept of obama was right?

Yeah, later in his show after someone clued him in on his gaffe. Fucking hilarious - what a stupid fat fuck.

This man truly is the living, beating Heart of the Republican Party. Long live Flush the First!!!

Do we have to wait for an election or can we just proclaim him Emperor for Life right now?

"Fucking hilarious - what a stupid fat fuck."

Wait for it...

DEFLECTION!!!

57 STATES.

Sorry, had to.

"You do realize that he said in the same show that he knew the thesis was fake"

YEAH!

McDonnell's Misogynist Thesis from 20 Years ago doesn't matter, but Obamas Fake one "fits"!

Yup, Two Way Street all Right! Why did I ever question the scruples of you people who call yourselves "the right"!

This is what happens when people create a false reality for the sole sake of being mad at something.

Watch Foxnews. They are fucking MASTERS at it.

It smells of Dan Rather Redux personally: to discredit your biggest critic, give them proof of everything they said that is easily proven wrong. Brought down Rather.

"This man truly is the living, beating Heart of the Republican Party."

Says only those who hate republicans.
I vote that the leader of the democrats is a dead possum on the side of the road. I figure that is no less accurate then saying rush is the leader of the republicans, i mean if we play by your rules.

"McDonnell's Misogynist Thesis from 20 Years ago doesn't matter, but Obamas Fake one "fits"!"

What the hell are you talking about?

Somehow every post of your i read i imagine somewhere you have non sequitur for life tattooed on your body.

RUSH: I'm also told that the blog containing the passage on Obama's thesis is a satire blog. So it's one of these sites like ScrappleFace or The Onion or some such thing. So I shout from the mountaintops: "It was satire!" But we know he thinks it. Good comedy, to be comedy, must contain an element of truth, and we know how he feels about distribution of wealth. He's mad at the courts for not going far enough on it.

So we stand by the fabricated quote because we know Obama thinks it anyway. That's how it works in the media today.

It has been corrected by the official white house web site. It is now 52 states. ROFLMAO

Hey SAL,

If Flush isn't the head of the Republican party, why does every single Republican politician line up to suck his dick?

Not one of those limp wristed fools has the balls to stand up against King Flush and tell him to piss off.

Until someone in the Republican party starts acting like Flush is not in charge, he is your man.

Like it or not.

So we stand by the fabricated quote because we know Obama thinks it anyway.

Somebody needs to.

101,
I brought up Rather too here: #8 | Posted by kanrei at 2009-10-26 01:43 PM. Something smells of Deja Vu.

Axe, note how almost twice as many democrats think rush is the leader then republicans. Think what you will, i does not effect me but just wanted to let you know how factually wrong you are.

"That's how it works in the media today."

Kind of like quoting someone else because it is pertinent to the issue at hand?

Kan,
I saw that after I responded to ManyPaths.
Great minds and all that...

Great minds and all that...

Our minds too it seems =D

"Great minds and all that..."

Cause retards never bump into each other, obviously.

If i did not have utter contempt for emoticons there would have been a smiley face after that.

I hate emoticons too, but they serve a function I find. Especially for people like me who just ooze sarcasm and satire.

So in other words, a guy on the left makes an error and he is disgraced and forced to quit (Rather). A guy on the right makes an error, and he is a hero. This is an example of that whole "accountability" thing that the right likes to crow about, isn't it?

"who just ooze sarcasm and satire."

A week of antibiotics should clear that right up.

Monte,

Just realize that they need to lie to feel better about their blind hate.

Which means everything is A OK in the real world.

Well, I believe it's more accurate to say that the guy on the left is someone we have had faith in as a respected journalist who should have known better, and the guy on the right is an entertainer who no one should take seriously anyway.

"Just realize that they need to lie to feel better about their blind hate."

Is that only when those on the right lie? I am just confused as to whether the lefts lies are shining beacons of morality or if your statement applies to both sides.

Example Salamander and I maybe can answer. Which lie are you talking about?

I have always found it kind of funny how when someone points out hypocrisy the first response is " i now you are but what am i?"
Posted by salamandagator at 2009-10-26 01:41 PM

Fucking A, you don't do better when you log in as "nanc" either!

# 29 ?

Do you have to try very hard to make absolutely no sense at all or does it come naturally?

"Example Salamander and I maybe can answer. Which lie are you talking about?"

Really?
How many do you want?

Te Media never did this with Bush? Are you fucking kidding me?

I don't like Bush, but you Libs really need to be called on the carpet for this.

Remember: No Blood for Oil?

and Bush invaded Iraq so his cronies could get rich.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Damn fools!

"And Bush invaded Iraq ao his cronies could get rich...."

He invaded Iraq so the inspectors there wouldn't have time to verify lack of WMD.

Anybody else see that there will be bad unintended consequences to all the lying going on?
(ACORN ho, the Onion, Landover Baptist, punking Rush)

Have you ever been the one to communicate to friends and family about a death or a serious accident?

If you have, then you know a TON of people respond, "Is this a joke?" or "Are you kiddding?" is a common (but disturbing) response.

So in other words, a guy on the left makes an error and he is disgraced and forced to quit (Rather). A guy on the right makes an error, and he is a hero. This is an example of that whole "accountability" thing that the right likes to crow about, isn't it?#23 | Posted by mOntecOre at 2009-10-26 02:14 PM | Reply

Rather actually CONTINUED to push the story EVEN AFTER evidence to the story's falsehoods surfaced.

It's kind of like Bill Clinton--if he just would've said he messed with Monica and apologized Republicans wouldn't have been able to do anything!

Rush backed off before the show was even over! (And I'm no dittohead)

21 minutes after my previous post, a guy from my church got hit head on by a drug dealer in a car accident.

What pithy statement did I say?
"Are you serious?"

here is how the media works today with obama in office

www.thefoxnation.com

I've tried numerous times to convey how the left almost 1005 either takes Rush's quotes out of context or completely ignores his inflection in delivering a comment. (Or just makes up the quote, if it serves a purpose)

This morning I was reading an online AP story about the trouble Reid is having with more moderate Senate Dems.
www.ajc.com

Here's a quote from Kent Conrad, D-FL.

Intense days and nights lie ahead, said Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. Senators who don't like the bill will find themselves the focus of a "prayer session," said Nelson. "They will pray that the retribution of God doesn't come down on them."

Now, the AP story concluded that quote with "he joked."

He was poking fun at conservatives, who've claimed Obama's supporters see him as The Messiah. Rush consistently does this sort of things when using the left's words. Satire, parody, etc. If you don't listen to context and inflection, you miss the meaning.

Yet, when you simply post the quote, if you're out to smear Conrad, it's very easy to come away with the "conclusion" he views Obama as God. See how it works?

As a bit of basic research would have shown Limbaugh, Obama didn't technically write a thesis at Columbia -- at the time, Columbia didn't really have senior theses -- though he did write a thesis-length paper. But it was on Soviet nuclear disarmament, not the Constitution.

Ha-Ha!

Limbaugh and many others -- including Fox News' FoxNation.com -- fell for a hoax, believing that a post put up by a conservative blogger in August as satire was the truth. Apparently, Pajamas Media's Michael Ledeen was the conduit, as he dug it up and posted it earlier this week, apparently believing it to be true. (Not the first time Ledeen and Pajamas Media have been embarrassed by something he posted -- back in January of 2007, he reported that Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had died.

Which is pretty much why Spud calls 'em Bananas in Pajamas Media.

Be Well.

/Well *THAT* was fun!
//Later y'all, 8 1/2 inch tall talking potato exiting the DRagon
stage left.

Rush is still trying to spin his way out of this embarrassment today.

It's why I laugh in the face of anyone who gives him an ounce of credibility.

You want to let Rush fool you and make you stupid every day then be my guest, but you have to expect the ridicule that comes with allowing yourself to be led around by the nose by an idiot.

The same idiot who admits the story's not real within the same radio program that same day? For a guy who delivers 15 hours of live radio a week he's remarkably accurate. The reason? He comments on what's already out there in the media. Typically his comments stem from sound bites from libs.

Here was a case where he'd responded to a friend who'd clued him in to a blog post. He quickly corrected himself as the veracity was highly in question.

Then he proceeded to have some fun with it. And that's part of the reason I posted comment #38... you need to hear the context and inflection to really understand what he's saying.

If you don't... and choose to only view selected quotes without voice inflection and context, do you honestly feel you're properly conveying the man's meaning? If so, how do you feel you are?

I'd really like your view on "do you honestly feel you're properly conveying the man's meaning? If so, how do you feel you are?"
