Sarah Palin has opposed the Republican candidate in a New York Congressional special election, giving her support to Conservative Party challenger Doug Hoffman over Republican Dede Scozzafava. "There is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race," Palin wrote on Facebook.

I would vote a Conservative over a Republican any day.

You are a good little 20 percenter, Murph.

So are you Corky...maybe less....

The country is more right of center than left.

More people are for smaller gov't, lower taxes and individual liberty--some may be on the left side of aisle too who think this way.

I agree this will be an interesting race.

Government can be too large, but the smaller the government, the less representation of the people and the more representation of the special moneyed interests..... but that's just for people who believe in We the People and government of, by, and for the People..... not conservatives or Republicans.

I would vote a Conservative over a Republican any day.

Ditto.

"The country is more right of center than left."

That is just a talking point which they repeat to try and make it so. No right of center nation would ever elect Barack Obama president. The right actually gets an advantage because of all the low population red states, if popular vote was all that was necessary to elect a president Bush would have difinitely lost in 2000 and 2004.
We are a slightly left leaning nation.

Oh, and it is leaning farther and farther to the left btw.

I would vote a Conservative over a Republican any day.

LOL! Like you would even know the difference.

No right of center nation would ever elect Barack Obama president.

one just did Danni.

"hope and change' versus "McSame and the Alaskan idiot"???

it's not that far fetched.

Republicans were corrupt enough and warmongering enough and big spender enough in their last admin to piss off just about everyone, except for the 20 percenters still with them..... which means a party split with the fringe rightwinger death panel, Birther, Teabagger types.....

which one did you guys say you were again?

-No right of center nation would ever elect Barack Obama president.

SHHHHHH!!

You are just going to upset them again, Danni.

Oh, and it is leaning farther and farther to the left btw.

And that's why no legislation is passing. Cap and Trade was a bit too far left for the sane members of society.

I would vote a Conservative over a Republican any day.

Too bad Palin is not a conservative.

Danni,

Bush won popular vote vs. Kerry in 2004 62,028,285 to 59,028,109.

Besides, popular votes don't count, as you know. Good thing too, as Cali and NY have enough power as it is - and it doesn't reflect the views of other states.

Bush was not a good President, and the Republicans were doomed. The Republicans were acting as anything but conservatives. The country wanted a taste of something new.

But, finding out that they don't like being fucked in the ass, the infatuation with liberals will end. The only hope is to legalize all those millions of illegal immigrants/voters, and to swell the ranks of government dependents to a majority. I guess that's what they're doing.

It's not sustainable, but, enjoy it while you can.

Too bad Palin is not a conservative.

No, but Liz Cheney is. Boo!

which one did you guys say you were again?

I'll take "fringe rightwinger death panel" for $200 Alex!

LOL

No right of center nation would ever elect Barack Obama president.

After all the "he's a socialist, communist, muslim, pals around with terrorists, marxist" comments that came out in the election I have to agree.

McAncient and Mayor McMooseville threw every single "right of center" lie at Obama they could dig up.

I swear I even heard McAncient tried to use "Do you know he fathered a black child?" lie that Dumbya used against him in 2000.

Palin and Cheney in 20012! Rah Rah Raaaaahahahahahaha.

Liz Cheney is

Is that the one that is afraid to go on Rachel Maddow's show?

That ought to work out good. So much for the criticism of candidates/politicians that will not appear on some networks.

Boo!

Palin and Cheney in 20012

I know they are plugging every single piece of medical hardware they can find into the old bastard to keep from smelling sulfur, but I doubt even his evil ass will last that long.

No, but Liz Cheney is. Boo!

BTW if she is a "real" conservative I doubt she will get the backing of the party chair.

And I would vote for a progressive over a Democrat. Of course, the way the two parties have the game rigged, none of us will have that chance.

So what? You've got a 10 month old President that is afraid of an entire network. BOO!

"Do you know he fathered a black child?"

that was good,I have tears in my eyes

"Do you know he fathered a black child?"

I tried that against him during the primary, but it didn't werk then, either.

I would vote for a conservative over a Republican any day, too, but I bet Murphy and I don't mean the same thing when we say "conservative." (Lemme help: I don't mean a far rightwing, anti-union, anti-gay, anti-public school, Christians-are-better-than-
anyone-else, corporations-are-good, dissent-is-unpatriotic shouter.)

I'd also vote true progressive over Democrat. Bernie Sanders would not have gotten in if he'd run as a socialist (if he really is one).

Well, if the GOP would bother to nominate a REAL REPUBLICAN for NY23 than Palin wouldn't be endorsing a Conservative Party candidate, REAL REPUBLICAN, as opposed to a Close Democrat in Republican's Clothing.

It's bad enough that the Liberal Democrat Arnold Schwarzenegger Destroyed California, now the GOP wants to invite more Democrats to run under their banner? This is ridiculous.

-Liberal Democrat Arnold Schwarzenegger Destroyed California

lmao! They are completely falling apart now.

This is why I quit voting for the GOP, they talk a good game, but then govern like Democrats, but now they're not even talking a good game.

She's right.

lmao! They are completely falling apart now.

Isn't right and left defined entirely by where YOU stand? As a residue of righties (hey - alliteration) continues to try to label its legitimately elected president as a leftie commie pinko mooselim atheist nazi born either in Kenya or Saudi Arabia. The truth is that The Big O is a wimpy centrist weakening his own cause by trying to lure that rigid right into his Big Tent. If only Mr. Obama WOULD push this nation to the left. Just a little bit. herm

....speaking of punchlines that just keep on giving.

If Republican wingnuts want to shoot themselves in the foot in state after state, fine. NY-23, Florida Crist vs Rubio (who said his main goal is saying 'no'), NJ governors race...and the list goes on. The only hope they have are moderates, and the 'base' isn't interested. So, 20% it is.

I would vote for a conservative over a Republican any day, too, but I bet Murphy and I don't mean the same thing when we say "conservative." (Lemme help: I don't mean a far rightwing, anti-union, anti-gay, anti-public school, Christians-are-better-than-

Prag--

The public schools are atrocious and the unions are in the way to make any changes to better it. When there are a million students dropping out of high school a year--there is a problem.

Unions are a business like the big bad corporations and cheat their members in the end. Their usefulness is over.

I am not anti-gay--They should be allowed in the miltary. I do believe in marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Have no problems with dissent--don't care for name-calling.

We are all sinners--Christians and everyone else. I cherish my faith.

I am considered pro-choice.

I am for medicinal pot.

I am against the death penalty--except for Bundy types.
------------

If I had my way--I would do away with the Federal Reserve and the IRS and change the tax code to a flat tax for everyone--no more deductions for corps or individuals.

I would close down the Dept of Education, DHS, HHS, HUD, Labor, Interior, and about 20 others. If there are more--let's consider those too. Oh--what is the name of the place--Dept of Registry or Register?? All they do is make up laws and regulations with no checks and balances.

-------

And MOnte is right about the game being rigged to some extent.

The taliban are true conservatives.

I would never vote for them. Murph however would.

Taliban hate women and their prime motivator for living is purification of people.

They are facists.

No I wouldn't vote for them--you might however!

Facist: one who gets in your face? Taliban: It THINKS it protects women. herm

"Palin: GOP Not Right Wing Enough"

Oh, please, you dumb bastards, listen to the Wasilla Gawdzilla!
Go for it!
I mean, what have you got to lose?
You're mired at 20% now.
Who knows?
Someday you might reach for the stars for go for 25%.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Hey, Murphy, if the schools are so bad, give us some ideas other than vouchers and kill the unions.

I've yet to meet a union leader who is against helping kids, seeking innovation, and getting rid of bad teachers. But you know, I teach in a small school in a small state, so the size of bureaucracy doesn't get in our way. Most anti-union rhetoric is founded in ignorance, at least from what I've seen here and the conversations I've had in real life.

I'm all for getting rid of the Dept of Ed.

And if there were a way other than unions to protect teachers (all employees) from whimsical firings, I'd be all for it. With your talk of checks and balances, you should be in accord with that.

Dropping out has to do with a lot more than bad teaching or bad schools. And bad schools have to do with a lot more than bad teachers.

"I do believe in marriage as a union between a man and a woman."

Then you're against gay rights. : )

Other than that, I may have to fess up to mis-pigeonholing you (though really my comment was meant more as a clarifier for many others on this site). Then again, others say you adore former Gov. Palin. If you call her conservative, then your conservative is definitely not my conservative. : )

Have a helluva night.

"Hey, Murphy, if the schools are so bad, give us some ideas other than vouchers and kill the unions. "

This is like saying: If you are sick, do something other than going to the hospital and seeing a doctor.

Boy, Member, that was a helpful response.

And it didn't even make much sense.

Show us your Tits, Moose mama!

Palin for President!

As a party the Republicans should let the Wilson, Palin and Bachmann types go gently into the good night and return to a philosophy along the line of Powell and Rockefeller they might actually grow the party.

Please, Sarah! Split up the Republican Party! Please?!

but the bigger the government, the less representation of the people and the more representation of the special moneyed interests.....

FTFY

listen to the moron.. she is right. If you follow her lead you might win in 2010 and 2012 (snicker)

This is really upsetting to Sarah.

I was having animal sex with her the other day. I was doing all her favorite things. Normally the nipple clips with nazi emblems makes her forget all her toubles of the day, but she couldn't even get into it, she was so upset.

She couldn't even relax when i used the cattle prod on her, which she normally loves. So I just beat the shit out of her instead. That seemed to help. Only when she started crying 'Tea-bag me you pot-bellied stallion', did I know that she was finally starting to relax.

So I beat the shit out of her again and that finally made her come. Then we went to church.

We are a slightly left leaning nation.

I guess that is what you see from your far left view.

What do you think we are, Snipe?

Palin is correct about Scozzafava.

The title of this thread should be..

Palin: GOP Candidate Not Right At All.

^.^

"return to a philosophy along the line of Powell and Rockefeller they might actually grow the party."

Ah yes, the REPUBLICANS should just sell out and bring liberal Democrats like Powell or Raocefeller into the party. Why not go further and just merge both of the parties?

Look, those of us who are conservative and want smaller government, more national defense, a stout defense of the border, and the things that Republicans *generally* support, we'll go with the Republicans.

That's just fine ... all the rest of you can be Democrats, Independents, whatever you wish ... it's a free country, and I value the fact that there are other parties out there to debate with.

But don't tell me that we need to co-opt the opposition in order to grow our party. It's stoopid, and not going to happen anyway ... and quite frankly, neither Republicans nor Democrats would benefit from it.

John B.

"Look, those of us who are conservative and want smaller government, more national defense, a stout defense of the border, and the things that Republicans *generally* support, we'll go with the Republicans."

Define smaller gov't, please. We've not seen it in Republican administrations in a damned long time. (I'm for _more efficient govt'_, which should result in smaller, yes? But I believe in social programs to help those less fortunate than myself.)

More national defense? More? Our military is pretty damned big, no? So what do you mean by that?

Defense of the border? A wall, maybe? That would make for _larger_ gov't, no?

In recent history, Republicans also generally support DOMA, no stem cell research, no abortion rights, reduced or eliminated welfare, chicanery, and skulduggery. (Okay, so they haven't cornered the market on the last two, but certainly the Republican machine of at least the beginning of the 21st century seems to have a rep for them.)

reich enough = infallible leaders anointed by god.

So what? You've got a 10 month old President that is afraid of an entire network.

I agree. His fear should be more rationally grounded in things that can really harm you, like pretzels.

This is really upsetting to Sarah.

Palin by the way gets my vote for Prez. in 2012.

I have even less idea than most Republicans how the short-term future will play out for them. At some point they will get their act together and attract high-quality conservatives to their ranks again and dump the toxic Neanderthals who now predominate. They can do so willingly or, more likely, unwillingly after enough years in the wilderness to force them to come to their senses.

Their future awaits and it will not include Limbaughs, Becks, Hannitys and FOX or at least they will not be so influential. They are sooooo yesterday already but the poor old GOP just can't see it.

You aren't very bright. I would guess your IQ is about 80.

Their future awaits and it will not include Limbaughs, Becks, Hannitys and FOX or at least they will not be so influential. They are sooooo yesterday already but the poor old GOP just can't see it.

I would likely have voted for Powell over Gore in 2000 (but not over Bill Bradley). Since then the Republicans have gone bananas. Karl Rove was clever to get them elected but they were simply terrible once in office.

There is an intellectual void in the Republican party and I don't see who is going to fill it. Even Arlen Specter bailed on them.

Republicans played on the fears of the Christian Right to win all those elections. Now the Christian Right is calling the shots.

That being said, if they suddenly pulled an about-face and came out in favor of single payer universal coverage, they'd have my vote. Even if they only supported it from a What Would Jesus Do point of view.

The Pubs are too busy kiling their own moderates. 20% forever? Up to them.

The Republican Party I grew up with is not the same one that exists today. Republicans used to not be adverse to gradual, measured progress. They viewed the social conservatives with a healthy suspicion. Now the modern equivalent of the No Nothings, are in charge of the party.
