Tell me though, is it okay with you that a hospital marks up a Tylenol 300%, or charges $200.00 every time they change the sheets? Why should it cost several times more per night to stay in a hospital than is does to stay at a high-end luxury resort? It doesn't seem to me like the so called 'free market' is working so well if healthcare is costing much more in the U.S. then it does in other countries, for the same or worse results.

certainly not. it is absurd. and my point is that many of the items like I mentioned are already marked up through the roof from the supplier to the hospital. And of course, the hospital marks it up again at a horrible rate.

If most people don't have need for a certain kind of care, they won't go GET said care, so it won't add to the cost. People who do need a certain kind of care can get it.

That said, I could see how thinks like counseling with some spiritual basis should be covered. I'm not sure why faith healing would cost anything.
