Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Health agencies world-wide have annouced a need for protection from harmful microbes and viruses, especially those considered by the WHO as imminent threats such as the H1N1 flu. Yet, the solutions proposed for antiseptic preparations are often deadlier than diseases themselves and at a detriment to long-term health. This is especially disconcerting as promotion in schools and other venues which cater to children. Most brands of sanitizers contain either high amount of alcohol or isopropyl alcohol - - which can be fatal, even in small doses if ingested. An alcohol-free hand sanitizer, Soapopular has been popular around the UK, Canada and U.S. child care, schools and health care facilities. They claim that makes it a safer option for children.

Not to mention this stuff also cleans good bacteria away making your more susceptible to other germs - an RN told me this awhile back. The hospital where she works recommends soap and water only.

when i was a little kid, i used to drink water from the garden hose.
Spent most of the day digging fortifications for G.I. Joe and COBRA in the dirt under the trees in our back yard.
Only bathed when forcibly shoved into the tub.

And i am a remarkably healthy person.

i havent had any health issues more serious than the flu in the last decade and the only reason i have had any surgical treatment was for a car accident and to get my eyes fixed with lasik.

my sister is one of the Purel pod people.

She is constantly sick.

The stars and the moon are in alignment. I agree with Nance, Soap is enough for anyone.

Number 1 cause of Septic Tank Failures is AntiBacterial Hand/dish/laundry soaps.

Are you serious?

If so, why is that?

cause it kills the bacteria in the Septic tanks that eat up the shit and waste.

That makes sense.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Think about it. If I gave You antibiotics and cleaned out Your system of good bacteria and then injected bad bacteria into You You would get sick. Same way with the septic system. It needs those good bacterias to chomp up the solid waste so it doesn't plug up a septic system. Same diff.

That's why it is always a good idea to boost your intestinal bacterial flora after having been dosed with antibiotics. Antibiotics kill your good bacteria in your small intestine, most people don't realize that.

Plain unsweetened yogurt, or kefir will get your tummy back in tune. Sugar kills the good bacteria in yogurt.

soap and water only.

Agreed.

Here's another good reason to be suspicious of these things. Recently in Vancity it was decided to ban these liquid sanitiser dispensers not fer the reasons in this article, oddly enuff, but because of sommat they saw on teh ole UtubeZ.

Health Canada has advised schools to consider installing sanitizer dispensers in order to fight the spread of the H1N1 flu.

But many brands contain more than 60 per cent alcohol, and a quick search of the popular video sharing website YouTube turns up numerous videos of students drinking the hand gel or lighting it on fire.

Drinking it?

Settin it on fire?

*facepalm*

Yeesh.

Be Well.

Another eath shaking "problem" for which we need a nanny-state central government decision.
The USSR had less bureaucracy.

I always said too much cleanliness was more detrimental to one's health than a little dirt.

[sits back to await the BO jokes]

Larry - it's easily remedied by flushing a cup of long cooking oats down the crapper once a month.

valisk - LMBO - PURELL POD PEOPLE!
