This one has problems with respect to involuntary servitude laws and contract/union laws.

I can completely appreciate your frustration because in many ways its similar to mine. This may be a pandora's box issue, whereby any efforts we make to put the genie back in the bottle will be more expensive than the problem itself. This has been decades in the making. I'm afraid, and it kills me to say this, that legalization may be the only choice we have to get those who are already here illegally into the system and paying their taxes. And yes, that means amnesty too.

Now, we could use all that new tax money to strengthen border security, and make a deadline beyond which some real penalties can be put in place, both for employers caught hiring illegals, and those working here illegally.

But we're not getting rid of the 15M or so that are already here. Even attempting to do so would cost us scores of billions of dollars that we don't have.
