The Sunday Times October 18, 2009
THE National Health Service has spent 1.5m paying for hundreds of its staff to have private health treatment so they can leapfrog their own waiting lists.

More than 3,000 staff, including doctors and nurses, have gone private at the taxpayers' expense in the past three years because the queues at the clinics and hospitals where they work are too long.

That's the kind of system we need here, though.

Just another shining example of government run healthcare. It isn't good enough for the government but it's just fine for those paying the bill.

Just for the record I voted for healthcare reform before I voted against it.

As if we are contemplating anything even remotely like the UK health care system.....grasping for straws......but don't worry, apples and oranges comparisons don't bother some folks.

Ummm . . . I thought the UK and Canadian systems were what we're supposed to be aspiring to. You mean we're not?

Are they good systems, or not? If they're good, should we copy them?

Hypocrisy is always good to point out. Isn't this what should be going on before we fork over something that is 20 percent of our economy to the government to meddle in even more than they do now?
