Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Friday, October 16, 2009

On September 10th of this year the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) posted a press release informing the world that "from October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows [will] spotlight the power and personal benefits of service," and that this "unprecedented block of TV programming is the first wave of a multi-year I Participate' campaign."

I didn't want to paste the entire column here. Besides, the author includes numerous links within the piece and that info would exceed Drudge space limitations.

The majority of the media wants Obama to succeed - he's too big to fail. Here's but another example of them advocating on his behalf.

Am I being an alarmist? Maybe. It's not the end of the world (same as with his speech to school kids)... but by the same token does it give anyone pause to see the media falling in line to this degree to push a POTUS?

Take a few moments to click on a couple of the links this guy's provided.

After witnessing the moronic stalemate when a "normal" person engages in Grand Theft Auto III who'd have imagined better programming would lead to better peoples?! Amazingly royalty-less than Sony would typically engineer..:]

Not-So-Bright Bart presents Nick Nolte's younger Dumber brother?

Wot's his beef?

Like the NEA story, once again we see the same buzzwords pop up; suggested topics pitched to an overwhelmingly left-of-center group: Education, health, environment, the economy and lastly almost as an afterthought as some kind of "bi-partisan" cover support for military families.

Cos education, health, the enviroment, the economy and supporting the military are lefty issues?

Basically fer six days there will be a spate of PSA's encouraging volunteerism and this has lead the right wingnut Breitbart's "millionth monkey with a typewriter" to start fear-mongering?

So much FAIL here, Ooh.

Sad to see you don't notice it.

"There's even more scary news but I don't wanna spoil the surprise"?

Seriously?

There are so many real and vital issues in need of public debate and muddying up the waters of that debate with this kind of dreck is counter-productive in the extreme.

In terms of the government's so-called unconditional support of Obama here's a clue.

All MSM is in place to preserve the status quo and support the powers that be regardless of wot political stripes they wear. Bush got a free ride for waaaay too long but rtards tend to fergit that these days.

Be Well.

After witnessing the moronic stalemate when a "normal" person engages in Grand Theft Auto III...

Stalemate? There won't be no fuckin' stalemate when you get 5 stars and they send in the national guard after your ass.

There aren't enough hookers in the world to make up that much HP.

I can't wait to see what the messiahs lemmings will do "to serve". I bet nothing more than bloggging about it.

I hadn't realized that people had STOPPED volunteering long enough for the entertainment industry to notice - thank the god of this world for them or we'd just never know when to do good deeds::smirk::

We cancelled ALL network programming on our dish last year when it was ALL BARACK ALL THE TIME. Yes and it's been good - we only used it for tornado alerts anyway - could be he preempted a couple of those!

I don't have a problem with networks deciding to push a theme. They do this quite often with a variety of topics.

What I would like to know is if the US Government and/or new outlets have ended the practice of producing "news" segments that are being carried by news media without identifying the segments as being government produced?

I wonder if this sort of service program would be viewed as doing one's patriotic duty were it a repub president implementing it.

But of course since it's a Dem, clearly this is an attempt to indoctrinate the kids with socialist ideals.

After thinking about this a bit it reminds me an awful lot of the anti-drug programming we used to see the Reagan administration pushing.
