In Ohio you are not even allowed to build in a flood plain. If your property touches it you have to pay around $1300 to $2000 a year for flood insurance. This is a total crock of sh*t!!!!

The entire nation is paying for a city built 12 foot below sea level and a lake!!! The city is currentlyt sinking. What a POS situation this creates!

Abandon this city and turn it into Atlantis! Nothing should be built in a floodplain! People should be on their own if they do!

The bamster should have a lot of supporters in that fine(tee hee hee)city. The biggest supporters are probably the same ones that got on the dole after katrina and never got off. I have no idea about the races creeds or religions of New Orleans. Common sense should dictate. The levees do have weaknesses and it is not right for the rest of the Country to pay for a deficiency made.

My neighbor just bought a FEMA trailer that was never used for a pretty good price. If I were young and single I could live in one. Heck I could even put it at the hunting club or something like that. But to live in one with a family of 4 you gotta be crazy. Just sitting there all day with no job, nothing to do and waiting on the feds to help. You would go nuts!

Give me one good reason that I should spend a bundle of money to rebuild a city that is below sea level and below the river that flows through the city? They arn't in a flood plane, they are in a disaster zone. They need to turn the pumps off and walk away from the swamp.

That's because he doesn't need to worry about New Orleans, he knows he's gonna get 96% of the vote there if he does something or doesn't do a damn thing.

While it is historic and picturesque, the residents (and the feds) should have finished what Katrina started and moved the whole fucking city someplace that taxpayers in Honolulu and Anchorage won't have to pay to rebuild the next time there is a storm.

The "ruins" could become a tourist attraction...
