The Baluchistan Liberation Army is a real nasty piece of work. Take a bunch of bored of their tits Pakistani Baloch boys, give the weapons and bombs training, and you get a terror outfit that set an explosive outside the second closest Kentucky Fried Chicken from my old home in Karachi. And the United States has forced the Indians into a subordinate role, so that they can now use the BLA for their own sweet purposes.

AQ/Taliban V. BLA gunfights? Could it happen?

It's nice when your problems solve themselves.

If the US has indeed replaced India in the driving seat, then it's good news, because everything the US handles, turns into shit. LOL

This also signals a desperation to get some sort of result in Afghanistan.

Anyway, this US obsession with Baluchistan is an old story.... and a pretty unsuccessful one for them.

It's nice when your problems solve themselves.

It would be. These BLA mo-fo's set of a bomb in front of the the second closest Kentucky Fried Chicken to my house, the only one that does Home Delivery in my part of Karachi.

And now the US Military in Afghanistan has taken over direct control of these nutters. The thing is, if they're Pakistani, they'll at least be semi-decent at carrying out covert activities. All BLA are from the three districts which have been in constant rebellion for half of the last sixty years. They grew up in and out of rebellion.

BLA isn't something to be taken seriously.

They have lost their leaders at regular intervals... and everytime the new "leader" is not as good as the previous guy.

They will be whittled away to nothingness, have patience.

will be whittled away to nothingness, have patience

Yes, but that will leave a lot of angry families without sons. Its a good way to win the battle; what about the long war?

but that will leave a lot of angry families without sons. Its a good way to win the battle; what about the long war?

Then you suggest we do nothing? Has that approach EVER worked?

You know this is a planned conspiracy by outsiders. And it will be taken care of as such.

As for the angry families.... hell with them. Only 1% of the Baloch people are involved in this and that too because of the sardars who keep them backwards. They can make as much noise as they like... the example of the Bugti tribe is before them. Get rid of the corrupt leader and the people in Dera Bugti are now thriving without fear.

In the long term, the best defence is access to more and more media sources and communications.

Nothing survives a media onslaught... not even a bad Govt.

Has that approach EVER worked

Maybe; How did we end the last insurgency in the '70's? When Z.A.B's gov was toppled then suddenly everything went quiet. Why? Part of it was that they announced an amnesty.

And you may be right that some people have to be killed or jailed, but the epicentre of the problem are the three districts that were formerly known as Marri-Bugti Ccountry. The problem is that political feelings have radiated beyond the former Marri-Bugti territory, which I should mention (our troubles may have something to do with this) once had the same status as FATA.

more and more media sources and communications
Then how come jang, dawn group, business recorder's people, etc. are all saying that the gov is the one causing problems in the the bugti-marri area? My guess is that sympathy for the tribals has arisen a lot in the other parts of Balochistan but their people are not in power because they boycotted the elections. I get the feeling that the civilian government is more powerful this time around than in the '90's.

The Baloch groups decision to boycott the election is, I think, part of what is fueling their resentment. They should consider that in the long term this boycott decision would be considered a stupid mood.

How did we end the last insurgency in the '70's? When Z.A.B's gov was toppled then suddenly everything went quiet. Why?

Why? Because they wanted ZAB dead, that's why. When he was gone, there was no point is continuing making trouble in Pakistan.

Remember Kissinger's threat? "We will make a horrible example out of you?"

I don't like ZAB or his family, but I can tell you if it hadn't been for him, Pakistan would not have nukes today. And he probably paid with his life for that.

Then how come jang, dawn group, business recorder's people, etc. are all saying that the gov is the one causing problems in the the bugti-marri area?

I meant the internet. I meant people in charge of the news... like Matt Drudge (blasphemy, I know...)... instead of us depending on corporate media.

I get the feeling that the civilian government is more powerful this time around than in the '90's.

The civilian Govt. is headed by a drug addict.

This is all a problem exacerbated by the feudal sardar system.

As private media (I don't think Baluchistan has any access to the channels and phone and internet services I do, in Karachi) and job opportunities come up in that area, the feudal sardars will feel more and more threatened.

But progress can't be stopped. As time passes by, these dinosaurs will fade away.

drug addict

Zardari?

Civilian Government

Well, you think its more powerful than in the '90's or not?

Matt Drudge

This Site is a pisshole. The only reason I'm here because of you, and now the Goatman, BRUCEAZ and Klifferd.

Otherwise when I decide to leave, I'm going to organise an army of Pakistanis and they'll start to walk through this place's weaknesses like ants through a sugar can.

And Zombiehunter and Zoroastrian, as well

This Site is a pisshole.

Well, it's full of idiots... but it's fun. And the management is pretty fair.

Otherwise when I decide to leave

On the net, we can come and drop in and leave, only to drop in again, as and when we like.

Zardari?

No... the Governor... whats-his-name.

Well, you think its more powerful than in the '90's or not?

I hope it is less powerful.

I don't believe in provincial Govts.

I would love central control of everything... OR... city Govts having total control.

These provinces, I don't understand.

The provinces are important because they represent the views of the countryside (the majority) as opposed to just the city centres. The rural areas are the majority.

Tosser, you were talking about the media's usefulness, heres what a Pakistani has to say about our Urdu-filth-press spawned TV channels:

All aside, what we see on television today has always been there in the Urdu press. Dangerous ideologues, religious bigotry, sensationalism, glorification of violence, political drivel, kaala ilm (black magic), istekhara (divine guidance), khwabon ki ta'beer (interpretations of dreams), sitaron ki gardish (movement of stars), haathon ki lakeer (palmistry), ilm-e-najoom (fortune telling), quackery and any other paranormal stuff that you can think of is now streamed into our television sets. Literacy be damned; just see, hear and get indoctrinated.

Ain't Pakistani TV great? LOL

You forgot to add the millions of cooking shows we seem to have. Every time I switch on the TV, I see someone cooking something.. so I go away.

Honestly though, as I have told Goatee, it's been many years now since I have really watched much TV.

I do ALL my watching through the internet.

Lighting dung on fire and cozying up to an animal isn't what passes for cooking in the States.

what passes for cooking in the States.

That would be eating roadkill, right?

Lighting dung on fire and cozying up to an animal

I think Poop is having camping trip flashback...

Which is why he looks like this. i41.tinypic.com

Who invited you on a serious topic?

You got any position on your country getting ready to burn its fingers (again) on my country?

Lighting dung on fire and cozying up to an animal isn't what passes for cooking in the States

The regularity with which you people on the Piss Retort bring up animals, it might as well be.

I am afraid Chairpoop has no position on anything anymore since he was beaten black and blue by a guy called American-Unity who caught him lying and bullshitting about N.Korea.

Since then, Poop has only been able to manage one sentence insults. LOL

It smells like dung, curry, wet sheep, and slurppies in here...
Oh, hey guys.

It smells like...

Since its your house, I'm sure it does.

Don't you people call them huts, or caves?

Don't you people call them huts, or caves?

Chairpoop admits he lives in a hut. Stop typing and go find yourself a real house.

Hmmm... here's a bit of foreign policy I like:

If an organization has the words "liberation army" in its name, they're probably murdering douchbags who would best serve the world by being removed from it.

If an organization has the words "liberation army" in its name, they're probably murdering douchbags who would best serve the world by being removed from it.

Very true.

I once read a serialized book in some urdu magazine of some girl called Patty Hearst who was kidnapped and turned into a terrorist by some "liberation army" or something? The book also mentioned the sex orgies these liberation types got up to. LOL

But for you, it'll just have to do.

liberation army

Symbionese Liberation Army. The SLA were a bunch of spoiled rich kids acting all leftist and revolutionary. Think Al-Zulfiqar but without the vendetta of having their father/Grandfather (think Bugti's Grandson) being killed.

Knew about th SLA before wikipedia. They gave us Patty Hearst, the best test case for Stockholm Syndrome.

Patty Hearst who was kidnapped and turned into a terrorist

It was Stockholm Syndrome. She got taken hostage and began to identify with her kidnappers, becoming part of them.

sex orgies these liberation types

Typical Urdu press sensationalism. I'll read in English before I believe it, thank you very much.

Typical Urdu press sensationalism.

It was very believable. LOL

The SLA's actual reason for existence was to carry out sex orgies, it seemed like.

Revolutionary shagging is the best, I am told.

Typical Urdu press sensationalism.

Is that when they actually use colored dye on the cave drawing?

Typical ignorant american.
If you must know, it's when a formation of rocks is placed at an oft used trail crossing. The height of the stack, and the number of rocks used conveys a message. Dung is often used when the "typical Urdu" thinks too hard.

Two People on this blog carry out an informed conversation on Baloch insurgents.

Another two come and fling mud.

Jak Se Mao and 101Chairborne have names which put them down. Conidering the blithering drivel they pass for comments, they deserve them.
