Tragic. I was over there for a surf trip last year, stayed at the "Bummy Bin Tang" hotel, didn't sleep a wink due to fear that the whole place was going to collapse with or without seismic help. The people were incredibly nice and the food is probably the best in Indo, spicy and flavorful, not to mention dirt cheap. Don't know if it relates to the rest of the Muslim world, but even in the hardcore segments of Muslim Indo (Jakarta, Lombok), I never got the slightest bad vibe and was most impressed at how friendly everybody was and how well behaved the kids were. Now it's all tidak. Sucks.
