Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, September 30, 2009

A New York state appeals court on Tuesday dismissed former TV newsman Dan Rather's lawsuit against CBS in which Rather claimed he was made a scapegoat in a scandal over a 2004 report on then-President George W. Bush's military record. The ruling on Tuesday by a panel of judges of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division said Rather's $70 million complaint should be dismissed in its entirety and that a lower court erred in denying CBS's motion to throw out the lawsuit.

I can't help it----

Looooooser..

"The fake evidence proves the accuracy of the story."

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Good. Dan Rather is an idiot. I hope he spent a boatload in attorneys fees.

LOL! What a bitch.

Rather and CBS tried to steal the 2004 election for the Vietnam War coward and flip flopper, John Kerry.

who's Dan Rather?

Bush won. Case closed.

You know the attorney fees and costs had to be at least a million--maybe two million.

But if the attorney(s) was working on a contingency--Rather would pay nothing.

I am not so sure the attorney(s) would work this kind of case on contingency.

Well--Drudge is reporting Rather spent 5 million--but there is nothing in the story?

The headlines say rather piled almost 5 million into the suit1

You guys are birtherbaters - Dan Rather was given planted information which happens to match the reality. Bush was AWOL. The "fake" was planted by BushCo and used to trick a guy out of his job. BushCo is an un-funny, ironic joke.

I never cease to be amazed at the cunning coup d'etats pulled off by this stupid chimp.

Technically, it wasn't just one chimp.

So a guy travels through time to beat up Rather. It's as believable as his Bush National Guard story!

BTW, to attack a political opponent it is usually best not to make things up like Rather did, the 9/11 truthers are doing and the birthers seem to be doing. It just ruins cred! Rather's own document experts had told him not to use the "evidence" and this idiot just went ahead and destroyed his own career!

In the end, we all know that Bush was too coked up to fly and abandoned his unit in time of war.

Will anything come of it? Not likely, but at least we know he's truly a coward.

You define 'coward' as a man who volunteered for Riverine Comabt duty all while praising a man who abandoned his unit in time of war as a hero?

Damn, you truly are retarded...but consistent!

Poor Dan Blather... lost his credibility even with the lefties cause he couldn't sell his made up pile of shit... then looses his job cause he couldn't steal the election... now he is blathering in court, spending millions... and still no one believes this lying piece of shit, and so he probably won't be able to steal money not owed to him.

I believe "Bush was AWOL" has about the same credibility as "Obama was born in a foreign country". The wacky left and the wacky right should get married... can you imagine how fucked up those kids would be?

But the family reunions would be hilarious.

danny boy is set to appear on FOX this afternoon

You're entirely ignorant of the facts surrounding Bush and the ANG. Even his own flight instructor claims that both George W. Bush and his close friend James R. Bath failed to show during Aug-Sep of 1972 for the same reason. Bush was seen in a different state helping campaign for a friend of "The Family". Later Bath became the finance minister to the Bin Laden family. Do you not see any connection here?

Feds investigate entrepreneur allegedly tied to Saudis
White became entangled in a series of lawsuits and countersuits with Bath , who for some six years has prevailed in the courts. White says the legal action has financially devasted him and Venturcorp Inc., the real estate development company in which he and Bath were partners.

In sworn depositions, Bath said he represented four prominent Saudis as a trustee and that he would use his name on their investments. In return, he said, he would receive a 5 percent interest in their deals.

Tax documents and personal financial records show that Bath personally had a 5 percent interest in Arbusto '79 Ltd., and Arbusto '80 Ltd., limited partnerships controlled by George W. Bush, President Bush's eldest son. Arbusto means bush in Spanish.

Bath invested $50,000 in the limited partnerships, according to the documents. There is no available evidence to show whether the money came from Saudi interests.

George W. Bush's company, Bush Exploration Co., general partner in the limited partnerships, went through several mergers, eventually evolving into Harken Energy Corp., a suburban Dallas-based company.

Bush, known informally as George Jr., is a shareholder and director of Harken, which has been granted lucrative offshore drilling rights off the coast of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. One of the top shareholders of Harken, a public company, is Saudi businessman Abdullah Taha Bakhsh.

So, here's a side-by-side comparison of Bush vs Kerry from documents obtained through the Freedom Of Information Act.

Here's the redacted documents in question.
"The origin of these six documents has been called into question and cannot be accurately determined at this time. Marion Carr Knox, secretary to Jerry Killian at the time, said that the documents are not authentic; however, "...the information in here was correct, but it was picked up from the real ones." It's also quite revealing that the White House, having no reason to doubt the authenticity of the memos, also released the documents to the press. On the 60 Minutes II broadcast in question, the White House also did not challenge the accuracy of the information in the memos - only later did they challenge the provenance of the documents themselves."

You don't sound anything like a true libertarian, but very much like a neoconservative Republican!

You don't sound anything like a true libertarian, but very much like a neoconservative Republican!

Why is it that anyone who disgrees with a leftist POV is labeled a "neoconservative Republican".

Robot -- can't you understand it is possible to not like Dan Rather and not be a neoconservative Republican? What is it with you binary people anyway? You are everywhere!

First, I'm as far from binary as you could imagine. I accept all information and will react without deference regardless affiliation. You should know that by now. I simply don't accept corruption, period.

Beyond that, I believe that the data speaks for itself. Even if you don't believe that Bush went AWOL for 1 year, made friends with the Bin Laden financier and obtained his multitude of businesses through Bin Laden loans, there are so many correlations with the circumstances and people leading into the ME wars you can't seriously ignore them all. THAT makes "1libertarian" a neocon rtard.

More to the point - why is everyone who isn't Republican a "leftist" or "socialist"? Look at these posts - how many of them question Bush's integrity? WHY NOT? Now look at the threads started by the neocon rtards - "barry", "messiah", etc are continually slung around as if they were funny all along. Sore losers? Maybe. Sore assholes, definitely.
