German Chancellor Angela Merkel has kept her office after her conservative bloc won more than 33% of the vote Sunday. Merkel said her new alliance with "pro-business" Free Democrats (FDP) will get Europe's biggest economy out of its deepest crisis since World War II.

maybe she can get her peronal masseuse back--giorgio that cute gay frat boy...

'with the Social Democrat SPD at about 23% - its worst result since World War II'

The news keeps getting better. Now if we could just vote the Democrat National Socialists out of office here in the U.S.

This is outstanding! It's good news for Germany and for everyone since we are living in a global economy now.

I'd tap that. [Wink!]--GWB

No hopey, changey for Germany. The U.K.'s Brown is losing his ass. Perhaps this European trend should continue into America...

No hopey, changey for Germany.

Just like America

It is truly a great result for Germany. I've spent the last two weeks campaigning for the FDP, even our direct candidate got a elected. The times are changing in Europe.

as long as she talks like Madeline Kahn in Young Frankenstein it works for me...

Or Madeline Kahn in "Blazing Saddles" as the Lily von Schtupp, the Teutonic Titwillow.

"Oh, it's twue, it's twue!"

Well, a European Conservative is about on par with a slightly right-of-the-norm American Flaming-Liberal, so, try to keep that in perspective...

Angie and Theo aren't going to do away with any of the social legislation that keeps their country strong. And that's a good thing.

Bella is talking truth. Merkle is slightly to the left of Obama on social issues and about the same on fiscal matters.

Good news for Germany and the rest of the world.

For those on planet Rtard.....OOOOHHH!!! Look!!! Something SHINY!!!!!

Axe: You get 1 well-earned funny flag for that one...

I guess even a luke-warm conservative is better than what they could have in Germany ... Gerhard Schroeder was a complete idiot. Merkel is an intelligent change.

As for conservatism coming back to America, don't worry ... it is coming.

Considering a real Conservative hasn't ran for president since '64, that would be a trick.

Aww, Crap! Are ALL the rtards hanging out in Airport restrooms so they can finally be coming?

Or are some of them payin' to be abused by Jeff Gannon?

Merkel has been trying to cut expenses on Germany's social programs since her first electoral victory. She's made some progress. But even she knows that there is a difference between cutting costs and eliminating the programs. And that trying, or even hinting at trying, to do the latter will sweep her out of office in a flash.

"Considering a real Conservative hasn't ran for president since '64, that would be a trick"

Yeah, that was a flashy campaign that Goldwater ran ... too bad Johnson and the daisy ad kinda nuked him.

Actually, the last real conservative ran in 1980. There hasn't been a guy like Reagan for conservatives since then.

Yeah, Regan was a real conservative's Conservative! I especially liked his 80% tax bracket for the top earners.

He was able to provide corporate welfare and build the military without bleeding the middle class to death.

He even pretty much did away with old 50's and 60's style welfare.

Too bad we don't have real conservatives any more.

And I am NOT being sarcastic.

Gotta remember Regan was a union man first and a Rtard second!!

Make that Union Organizer (president of Screen Actors Guild!!!)

That is so true....

We'll have to see who comes out of the pack for the GOP in 2012.

Remember when Reagan cut and run from the terrorists in Lebanon?

How about the time Reagan gave millions of dollars worth of weapons to Islamic fundamentalists in Iran?

Oh and then there was the time Reagan gave all that money and weapons to the Islamic Jihad "freedom fighters" in Afghanistan, people like Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

But hey, he lowered taxes, so I guess that's all it really takes to be a "conservative."

But now she'll be practising her goose step....
