Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, September 23, 2009

An Arkansas-based pharmacy chain paid $420,000 for Prescott, Ark., property owned by Rep. Mike Ross (D.). "You can buy half the town for $420,000," said Adam Guthrie, chairman of the county Board of Equalization and the only licensed real estate appraiser in Prescott. Ross often speaks for a coalition of House moderates known as the Blue Dog Democrats known for voicing their concerns about health care legislation.

Hmmmmmm....

400 K wouldn't get you a dawg house in Spud's neighbourhood.

Be Well.

Oh, ok, so that deflection justifies even more corruption by a Dem.

Let's see, doughnuts are high in fat and sugar in my neighborhood.

Golf is a game using clubs.

Cars have some type of steering wheel.

There, topic changed.

"Oh, ok, so that deflection justifies even more corruption by a Dem."

DINO not a Dem.

If the home sold at an amount that is demonstrably and inexplicably greater than comparables in the community, this stinks like 101's day old diapers.

Investigate and if it is as big a descrepancy as reported, prosecute.

Just the way it should be in any type of political corruption abuse.

Dems eating blue dog dems...as they should. Dinos and Rinos are scourges. Just be independent, people!

Thats 400 thousand turd brain not $400. Spud, since when does a broken down trailer cost $400?

Needs looking into.

Everyone knows what this is. Now lets all look away like we don't know anything.

A pharmacy bribing a politician to vote with the Republicans on health care. Who would ever have imagined that something like this would happen?

Let there be matching jail sentences for both the politician and the CEO of the company that bribed him. Better yet, WHERE ARE MY DEATH PANELS?

Blue Cross bought a Blue Dog's property at an inflated price. Hey, the last administration bought Iraq for Halliburton. We've gone back to lobbyists buying off politicians. We're almost back to normal.

Now lets all look away like we don't know anything.

Now?????? You can look all you want. You still won't know anything.

Did Tony Rezko buy the lot next door?

when grown ups say "400 K", the "K" stands for "kilo", which is the metric version of "thousand", so when somebody says "400 K", its just grown up talk for 400,000.

Oh yeah, finest government money can buy.

Don't let Barack hear you. Those questions are off-limits. He's black--or haven't you heard?

The 420K was the start.

Those numbers, which Ross listed on the financial disclosure reports he files as a member of Congress, bring the total value of the transaction to between $1 million and $1.67 million.

And that's not counting the $2,300 campaign contribution Ross received from LaFrance (owner of USA Drug) two weeks after the sale closed.

His stance on policy is 180 from his constituency - which he pretends is the electors in his district.

This line from LaFrance sums it up:

"Our sales are higher, because it (insurance paying high prices and subsidizing the drug industry) affects the top line of sales," he added. If the government doesn't interfere, there's "nothing but good days ahead."

This is a long standing, tried and true form of corruption practiced by Repubs and Dems. As a real estate appraiser myself, I would really like to see the appraisal when the property was bought in 2007. The current appraisal in 2009 has no real bearing on the value in 2007 sine property values nationwide have fallen drastically. If an appraisal was not done in 2007 and USA Drugs just paid a price without any basis for the value, this is a real red flag for corruption. More research should be done about that. If there was financing involved, there had to be an appraisal. Even rich companies usually finance real estate instead of paying cash for tax reasons. If it wa a cash sale, it's even more fishy.

RIR- have you noticed no lefties are lining up to protect this guy? Given the right's continuous apologizing for guys like Cheney, Nye and Cunningham, you should at least admit we're a lot less partisan than you guys.

thinly veiled bribe...bring the fucker down.

North - Republicans denounced Rino's when our side had the House and Senate, but defended those seen as actual Republicans.

In this case this is a "Blue Dog" or Dino, so Democrats should happily turn on him.

It is my opinion that to say one side is less partisan is a ridiculous statement after paying attention for the last decade.

This will not be cover by network or cable news, except maybe one exception.

Well Maddow covered it yesterday so you must mean MSNBC.

Where I live, $420K will get you a closet.

A big one, mind you, but still....

"RIR- have you noticed no lefties are lining up to protect this guy? "

Just the contrary. The more scandals the better when it comes to weaselly blue dog Democrats.

he is a blue dog not agreeing with "Dear Leader" so he has to be brought down at any cost. "Dear Leader" can do a "sweat heart deal" on a house and that is OK but let anyone that doesn't agree with him do the same and they are fair game. bet "Lady M" came up with the info.

Null, youre right frankly any scandal for any politician from either party is a good, cleansing thing. If they face any consequences, that is.

Sounds like this man needs to experience some jail-time. 40 years seems about right.

You do understand 'K', no?

The funniest part is when you called him 'turd brain' all while being COMPLETELY WRONG!

The Democrat Party continues to amaze me every single day with all their craziness and coruption. He and ex-Congressman Jeffers must have attended the same seminar.

Could you imagine if this was a Republican? CNN, MSNBC, ABC and NBC all part of the Liberal Alliance Media (LAM) will not even report this.

UTA, I'm with you man, as a Republican voter, but our side has as many corrupt officials. It's a problem of D.C., not party.

No politician is as clean as the wind driven snow, unfortunately.

"when grown ups say "400 K", the "K" stands for "kilo", which is the metric version of "thousand", so when somebody says "400 K", its just grown up talk for 400,000."

Why would "grown ups" write 400 K?

"K" is the symbol for Kelvin temperature, while "k" is the proper symbol for kilo.

Grow up.

which is why we can wipe our collective ass with the bill being pushed through. The dems have as much skin in the game as the repubs. Both sides need to be set on fire then doused with honey and dropped into a fire ant colony.

Tort reform, single payer would cost the scum too much money our of their coffers.

the best democracy money can buy.

Commonsense you are obviously too stupid to understand what I wrote. The reference to 400 thousand was to denigrate where spud lives cos no shit hole trailer cost anywhere near 400 thousand dollars.

Try thinking before spewing leftwing nuticisms.

The more scandals the better when it comes to weaselly blue dog Democrats.

The only way the Democrats could get their magic majority was to back blue dogs in Conservative districts. You drive them out and those districts will go back to Republicans. And then the Republicans will have the majority again.

But hey! You wished and dreamed of this majority for a decade .... ENJOY!

If you read the story, this deal went down two years ago -- when Bush was president and there was no talk about the government taking over health care.

Also, commercial property values are not based only on property appraisals. Established businesses also have such things as customer good will and future earnings that affect their value.

Both sides are corrupt, or have their corrupt
members. Selling out is not owned by one
political party or the other. In fact, its
practically promoted in our lovely Capitalism
or nothing society...
