Nanc it's very difficult to take the words of the Republicans seriously when they refused to speak out against Dubya WHILE He was in office but now that He isn't everyone opens their yaps up. What's even sadder is the fact that when Liberals spoke out against Dubya we were labeled traitors unAmerican UnPatriotic servile etc etc etc. But now it's all peachy keen to speak out against Obama. It's very Patriotic in Republicans eyes. They have lost any claim to hold that moral high ground. Except being a Dem, Rep or "patriot" is pertinent in determining whether or not it IS rightly placed indignation.

For the majority, it seems that indignation is born more from politics than real policy decisions IMHO as exhibited by the fact that they all of a sudden come out of the woodwork once a Dem is in office and STILL refuse to criticize OR investigate the wrong doings of the previous administration.

Spud agrees that the vast amount of discontent found on the left and right and all points in between these days has more to do with eroding standards of living for th eworking poor and shrinknig middle class and the disconnect between public opinion and public policy than it does about racism per se.

That sed to try and deny the existence of racist elements in the US electorate or the pundits who stoke those fires is madness.

As much as this writer and Obama want him to be wrong, Carter was correct in assessing too many racist reactionaries in the deep south and elsewhere.

So why th elow numbers?

Obama is too much like Bush in terms of policy for many on the left and he's not enuff like Bush to satisfy the rtards.

All his attempts at change and progress seem to be stymied and watered down by the hopelessly corporately corrupted nature of DC these days.

Plus his attempts at bipartisanship are being percieved as weakness as he continues to cave in time after time in a futile attempt to bring on board people who's only goal seems to be obstructionism in aid of regaining political power.
