Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The House voted Thursday to deny federal money to the community-organizing group Acorn after a video emerged in which employees of the group gave advice to two conservative activists posing as a prostitute and a pimp who said they wanted buy a house in Baltimore and start a brothel. Republicans added the prohibition to a Democratic bill on college lending by a bipartisan vote of 345-75, showing that Acorn, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, was increasingly seen by Democrats as a political liability.

All the votes to continue funding were Democrats. LOL!

Poor misunderstood nuts at ACORN...even the Canadians are catching onto them

Oh, my:

By Matthew Vadum Thursday, September 17, 2009
Jaime E. Feliciano, president of the radical Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1000 District Labor Council 784, has been convicted of possessing child pornography.

Even before the kiddie porn charges were laid, Feliciano was already a convicted sex offender, the Sacramento Bee reported last year. The paper reported that according to court records, "Feliciano was convicted in 1993 of lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14 years, which is a felony."

Two SEIU locals, 100 in New Orleans and 880 in Chicago, are ACORN affiliates. The chief organizer of Local 100 is Wade Rathke, who was expelled last year from ACORN for orchestrating an eight-year long coverup of his brother's embezzlement of nearly $1 million from ACORN. ACORN insider Keith Kelleher is chief organizer of Local 880.

Six months ago, ACORN tried to cover up the fact that Locals 100 and 880 are part of the ACORN network.

Where did all the libtards and demascraps go??? I'm glad to hear some states are going to investigate the organization so maybe we can find more....

Acorn is bleeding to death...

I wonder whats next.. Now that is what it looks like to get your asses handed to you..

Obama = Acorn

Dont worry. The Democrats will hide the funding somewhere else in the budget.

I want those nutty assholes to give back the 2 billion dollars that obama gave to them.

'I want those nutty assholes to give back the 2 billion dollars that obama gave to them.'

I hope it doesn't end with just that.

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (commonly referred to as RICO Act or RICO) is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. RICO was enacted by section 901(a) of the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970 (Pub.L. 91-452, 84 Stat. 922, enacted October 15, 1970). RICO is codified as Chapter 96 of Title 18 of the United States Code, 18 U.S.C. 19611968. While its intended use was to prosecute the Mafia as well as others who were actively engaged in organized crime, its application has been more widespread.

Wow. The crickets are sure chirping on this thread.

Liberals hang their pointy little heads in shame and are busy reading the tea leaves.

It doesn't look good does it?

Damn! Rcade removed my link and put the fuckin' New York Times article up instead...sorry folks! I'd NEVER link to NYT...

Sure, prosecute them big time. I know you felt the same way when the last administration was giving bonuses to companies that were electrocuting American soldiers.

www.thenation.com

And for the simple minded, I'll make it clear. I am not defending ACORN nor support them in any way, nor am I trying to deflect away from this issue.

What I am trying to do is get people to see their own hypocrisy in their selective outrage.

ACORN and Halliburton et al are all part of the same ilk, those just trying to funnel your money into their pockets.

When I pray for God to expose the corruption in this country (whether it has an R or D behind it), and then I see this happening, I know God answers prayer!
ACORN bastards stole my wife's (R) registration in '04.

"ACORN bastards stole my wife's (R) registration in '04."

Hahahahaha. Good for them. One less rtard vote.

Today was our day of fasting and prayer for our government officials.

Nanc, I don't think it's the same article. If it is, I didn't have to register to read it before I posted it.

too bad the liberry's closed or we could have an earful from alfsakaiabble....

Oh I'm sure he'll have something to say, Badger.

He always does! :)

Ain'T THAT the TRUTH!!!!!

"Sure, prosecute them big time. I know you felt the same way when the last administration was giving bonuses to companies that were electrocuting American soldiers."

I'm sure you're just as vehement about prosecuting now as you were about prosecuting Haliburton and the previous administration.

The @!%#* idealogues on both sides is why i'm a Libertarian.

The non sequiturs fly from left and right.

This one just happens to be from the left.

Rack one up for common sense. ACORN needs some direction. What? It's too late!!! Well we always have Obama to blame. Who cares how long they have been funded by the gumment.

A1 - i posted this earlier today:

biggovernment.com

and someone, probably nullnvoid, marked it as spam so it doesn't even show in my comments - is this the article to which you were referring?

this isn't the first time i've had comments and links disappear for no good reason.

Why is the federal government funding acorn in the first place?

Because they're Barry's buddies.

about time, this is a libtard sespool of slime and crap that should have been done away with along time ago. its nothing more but a place for libs to push their agenda and funnel funds to idiots that are too lazy to work for a living. just a leach on the taxpayers.

'Rcade removed my link and put the fuckin' New York Times article up instead...sorry folks! I'd NEVER link to NYT...'

The New York Times knows about this? Charlie Gibson reads the New York Times.

Legacy Media. I followed the link and the two bit rag asked me for a UN / PW.

Are there people willing to register to read the New York Times?

In the wake of Fox News reporting on the unfolding ACORN scandal, ACORN is now threatening to sue the network. Now that Fox is actually breaking news on this story by showing new videos, ACORN might just do it. Fox News should pray that ACORN does sue, because it would blow the doors off this story, possibly destroying ACORN and erupting into a political scandal in Washington.

As bizarre as it seems, ACORN is threatening to sue Fox for reporting on these incriminating videotapes. Glenn Beck broke news with a new tape on Monday, and Sean Hannity might be doing the same shortly. Evidently, ACORN is accusing Fox of coordinating with the filmmakers, arguing that somehow these reports make Fox legally liable.

ACORN's unavoidable problem, however, is that suing Fox News would give Fox or any other media organization the ultimate Christmas present: a legally enforceable way to compel ACORN to give up all its secrets.

If you had bothered to read the rest of my post you would see that I am.

But don't let the facts get in the way of your rant.

A few Acorn employees gave crappy tax advice to a fake pimp and ho. The fed cuts all their funding without investigation. Haliburton rips off the fed for millions, kills soldiers with crappy electrical work, and provides contaminated drinking water. Haliburton get's renewed contracts and bonuses. Yeah that seems fair and balanced.

Van Jones... ACORN.... congratulations, Beck!

oh IM here....

fox news asked all but one of the senators about their vote and they all...most rather said the same thing

well they do a lot of good too..
but that doesnt really matter now which is a shame I guess if you are in that situation.
but remember too...the GRAFT goes far beyond this one incident
AS FOX NEWS has been trying to tell all of you for some time now.

INTERESTING TIME AHEAD

when this comes to obama's desk..
it will be ONE tense moment for him.
will he serve the people who put him there or will he serve justice.

Actually AFKABL2, I think Obama is going to Reverend Jeremiah Wright them. Just throw them under the bus and keep on truckin.

Lonnie

Keep that list of Dems who supported them. Using the current logic of prosecuting CIA activities, once the Dems are no longer in power, these 75 members can be brought up on RICO charges for funding a criminal enterprise.

I believe ACORN is threatening to sue due to ACORN claiming and the videographer admitting to the tapes being edited with FOX not disclosing this fact in it's on-air reporting.

The question will be whether the edits where material in forming a negative liable hit piece biased against ACORN or not. Either way it would be interesting to get to the truth.

LMAO, look at the rtards foaming at the mouth in desparation on this thread. After the teabagging and birther laughing stocks, they think they have their new Whitewater. Sorry, culpable deniability with this independent organization means this episode is just a fart in the wind, just watch and wait. Look at the vote, dumbasses.

I can't believe that 75 f@cking libtard Democrats STILL wanted to support an organization that is under investigation in several states for voter fraud, advising citizens on how to commit tax fraud and FACILITATING CHILD PROSTITUTION!

Come on libtard Dems!! WTF!!! Seriously! These are the same asswipes who try to protect child prostituion ring advisers but get pissed because someone shouted "You Lied" at the President. Unf@ckingbelievable!

Holee S&IT!

It amazes - nay, positively astounds! - me how people who come up with birthism, mandatory euthanasia for over-40s and no pills at all for Republicans, THEN boast a Congressman who calls their truth-speaking president a liar ... can make a major schrei about as insignificant a pimple on the anus of political life as Acorn. herm

as insignificant a pimple on the anus of political life as Acorn.

They put our Imposter-in-Chief in his current position...

"They (ACORN) put our Imposter-in-Chief in his current position..."

They surely did NOT. Sixty million voters did. Even if it registered Mickey Mouse, and Mickey actually voted, that leaves 59,999,999 good Americans who voted against the Bush machine. herm

43 comments on this thread. This is the best thing that happened in years, you'd think people would have more to say.

None the less, the celebration continues.

Congress, all but seven Democrats, say they will pull all funding for the "hallowed" ACORN. I heard a Senator today saying that they will drop that section of the bill when it goes up for a vote. Sounds Like Politics to me.

I was a little put off by all the voter fraud investigations with ACORN. No one wants to win an election like that.

But my brother had me watch the ACORN videos on YouTube and I was very disturbed by what I saw. I hope the administration did not train these folks to do this kind of stuff.

At my bro's urging, I have started watching Fox News and surprisingly, it has been interesting. I have started watching Glen Beck...and I cannot believe I am saying this, but he is actually very good. I am not saying that I agree with everything he says, but he does make good points.

I try to be open-minded instead of just watching CNN all the time. And forget MSNBC - I cannot stand Keith O...and I voted for President Obama. Keith O. is a POMPOUS JERK!!

Beck is a regular Howard Beale--really.

""We are mad as hell and not going to take it any more""!

ACORN is toast--and deserved.

Obviously what has happened here is the cat is out of the bag. Acorn hired a bunch of idiots. Way to go ya bozo's.

"These 75 Dems who voted to keep the funding intact... anyone here get to see/hear them defend their vote? I wouldn't expect the mainstream media to ask that question, but it does seem a curious topic."

How CAN they defend it when 80% of the nation is opposed to their receiving federal funding? The three percent with a "very favorable" opinion of ACORN are all here on the DR...with Rcade and Doc_Sarvis leading them.

"Among those who have been very closely following recent news stories about ACORN, which describes itself as "the nation's largest grassroots community organization of low- and moderate-income people," 80% think all federal funding should be ended.

Only 15% of voters now have even a somewhat favorable opinion of ACORN, while 67% have an unfavorable view of the group. Those figures include only three percent (3%) with a very favorable opinion and 47% with a very unfavorable view."
