Algae Car Attempts To Cross the US On 25 Gallons of Fuel

"Powering our cars with algae-based fuel could be the next Apollo mission." That's what Rebecca Harrell, co-founder of the Veggie Van Organization and producer of the upcoming film FUEL, told me yesterday in front of San Francisco's City Hall.

An algae farm could be located almost anywhere. It would not require converting cropland from food production to energy production. It could use sea water and could consume pollutants from sewage and power plants.

perhaps a good time to ask your congressman why the high efficiency European diesel engines those folks will be driving are not allowed in US production cars??????????
