Switzerland knocked the United States off the position as the world's most competitive economy as the crash of the U.S. banking system left it more exposed to some long-standing weaknesses, a report said on Tuesday.

Greatest country my ass. Our country was ruined by Bush and now the retarded conservatives want to install another Bush in office soon as they get another chance. I hope they all end up homeless, freezing to death on the streets this winner.

winter.

As Obama asks for the debt limit be raised to over $12 trillion let's reflect on his words:

"Barack Obama: "Raising America's Debt Limit Is a Sign of Leadership Failure"

"Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is "trillion" with a "T."

gatewaypundit.blogspot.com

Yet Obama has managed to increase that by $4 trillion in just 8 months.

Of course, nothing changed in the interim.

Funny, at the end stark threatens to throw him out the window.

Since the average income in Switzerland is almost twice what it is in the United States one is left wondering what the fuck "competitive" means?

How we could have ever held that position makes no sense, since our wages are more than ten times those in China.

If it means they are one of the recipients of trillions of US taxpayer bailout money then that is a windfall, but hardly "competitive" either.

Its all bullshit, and its bad for you.

Yet Obama has managed to increase that by $4 trillion in just 8 months.

Oh really? Now just how did you come to that conclusion? Did you just pull those figure out of your ass or do you have any proof at all of that figure?

the name really fits you ignorant ass

rin, you should listen to the news some time. Try to keep up with what is happening.

Sounds like Sniper has proof. Please, Sniper, set forth your proof.

Sounds like Sniper has proof.

He's got an email from somebody....

"Try to keep up with what is happening."

Yeah, try to keep up with Sniper....hilarious!!!

Sniper and KBM obviously don't read the news. If they did they would realize that the bailout Obama signed was Bush's baby and the stimulous bill was only about 750 billion of which only half has actually been spent so far. The rest was the usual 3 trillion dollars that the 'gummint' gets every year. It's called the national budget. Half goes to republican supported weapons manfactures and the DOD. Also, sniper and KBM might note, if he read the news, that the bailouts are being repaid and at a profit for the 'gummint' which any half-assed accountant will tell him is recorded in black ink.

The problem, as I see it, is these people want to throw the baby out with the bath water before the baby is washed.

As for the subject of this thread, of course the Swiss have a more competive economy. They have half this countries profits tucked away in secret accounts. A hell of a lot of the untaxed profits have already been put into other areas of the global economy that the Feds can't touch, and a lot of it is over valued Swiss Chalettes. What country wouldn't do well with huge reserves of untaxed US dollars?

I just want to know why a "neutral" country is toppling anyone!

Of course, in O'tard land, we can ignore the amount we overpaid on the assets so that we can pretend we've made a profit. Keep the faith.

It is not nice to ridicule the retarded. Please give Snippy a break, guys!!! Like the majority of the Rtards here, he only knows what Glen Beck and Fred Phelps tells him.

Kind of like how in Dubya land we kept the war off the books so we could pretend the economy wasn't really that bad until a Dem was in office.

As usual, the hypocrisy goes both ways. ;-)

At least try to stay on topic, Kanrei, sheesh!

=(

(though of course, I agree)

I am on topic. We are talking about the US economy. That is why I said "we kept the war off the books so we could pretend the economy wasn't really that bad until a Dem was in office".

Is this coming from the same poster who claimed Bush was the worst abuser of human rights in the last 10,000 years, topping even Adolf Hitler?

No point talking economy to these merde-munching-morons.

They don't have the mental prowess to distinguish between what the government spends and what is deficit.

These rump-rangers deserve the death panels. Let's change the health plan to require euthanizing of all the Republicans before we get around to offing Granny!!!!!

I agree with your assessment of Dubya. I'm not really pointing out hypocrisy though, just that the 4 billion profit should be taken with a grain of salt, considering we overpaid for the assets to begin with.

That is why I said "we kept the war off the books so we could pretend the economy wasn't really that bad until a Dem was in office".

As if the war being on or off the books would have one iota to do with those authorizing spending bills ad nauseam.

Did I say 10,000 years. Shit, I meant to say 100,000 years!!!

You Bush apologists get your pantys SO twisted any time anyone says something bad about Jeff's girlfriend.

HAHAHA!! (nuff said)

Here's the truth. He who has the most toys wins. What are toys? Toys are things people can only afford after paying the bills. Those with Swiss bank accounts have toy bank accounts. Get it?

The coomon denominator between the beggars in Kolkota and those with Swiss accounts is DEATH: they are all dying one after another.

A beggar died and went to paradise. A rich man died and went to hell. Luke 16:19-31. Reversal of fortunes!

In the end nothing is free. There are no free houses. No free cars. No free food. No free jobs. No free health care. Only fools buy such lies.

No free imperial adventures either, Zulooooooser.

I thought Iceland was the best place to live, oh that's right they're bankrupt.

Dear boy you wouldn't know what an 'imperial adventure' was if it walked up and tapped you on the shoulder.

I spent almost 3 years of my life in Switzerland and I have some comments based on personal experience.

While westerners know the country for chocolate and watches, the Swiss economy thrives on Machine Tooling, Banking, Food and Pharmaceuticals. Their historic neutrality is based on a quasi military conservative social democracy designed to protect their borders but in no way makes them economically isolate. They have virtually no poor class hence there average income is probably the highest in the world (along with perhaps Luxembourg and Kuwait).

Being tiny in size and population their natural resources and non-existent and thus depend substantially on imports.

Their historic neutrality

Neutral maybe, but it seems to me they treated the Third reich as a business opportunity

Bruce, I agree. The Swiss did make some money of WWII - the robbery of Jewish possessions, ransacking of gold and other atrocities, some later remedied. I think we can thank the great Allen Dulles for keeping tabs on the Swiss / Nazi collaboration during this awful period.

I think we can thank the great Allen Dulles for keeping tabs on the Swiss / Nazi collaboration during this awful period.

That's sarcasm, right?

Dulles was sent to Switzerland ostensibly to keep tabs on them but instead of report the fact that they were the bankers for the nazi regime complicit in the atrocities taking place in Hitlers Germany he kept silent.

He was aware of the flight of capital out of Germany via Swizz banks but kept silent and many assume he recieved a quiet cut for doing so.

Later at the wars end he used corrupt Vatican channels, the infamous "rat-line", to spirit prominent Nazi's out of Germany into Spain and South America via Italy.

Many former SS agents eventually went to work for American-Anglo intelligence services after having been shielded from prosecution during the Nuremberg trials.

Prior to the war he did not stint in his praise of Germany's "dynamism" under Hitler.

He was not a great man.

Be Well.

Wow, Spud, we have read different things on Dulles.

OK, lets say I believe what you write, meaning I'll read some more to get a better idea of the man.

Gee, I posted this article at the same time in my blog!

Whose fingerprints were everywhere:>)

Majestic 12

Nuclear physicist and UFO researcher Stanton Friedman has offered other rebuttal of many arguments against the documents' authenticity. For example, Philip J. Klass suggested that the Cutler/Twining memo was fraudulent, because it was typed in the Pica font, while Klass insisted that genuine White House documents of that era were only typed in Elite. Klass offered $100 for every example of genuine Pica font that could be presented. Friedman responded, as Speiser wrote in the same article cited above, "Friedman provides no fewer than 20 such exemplars, more than enough to win the maximum prize." (Klass paid him $1000, though Speiser suggests the challenge might more accurately be called a draw: "Klass' letter specifically called for 'letters' and 'memoranda'; Friedman provides only headings and dates in his initial response.) Some other Friedman objections to Klass' arguments are provided further below.

Bills passed by a Democrat controlled House of Representatives.

cue Schoolhouse Rock

Bills passed by a Democrat controlled House of Representatives.

Bills introduced by Bush, and forced down the House and the Senate's throats with threat of martial law when they all knew the score. They bought a temporary reprieve, but the games not over yet. The dramatic and sudden loss of American manufacturing while Bush and Clinton were at the helm will be the deciding factor in the end game. Once America is no longer the worlds financial overloard, the games over for the US. Big Money will invest elsewhere.

I hope they all end up homeless, freezing to death on the streets this winner.

such compassionate liberalism.

Wow, this thread is everywhere, including the requisite Bush bashing (newsflash, he's no longer the president).. its an Obama economy now.. and IF it turns around, all of the Bush bashers will immediately claim exactly that..

The most interesting thing in that article... and its a very interesting article.. is "Concerns were growing about the government's (United States) ability to maintain distance to the private sector"..

They do have nice watches and chocolate.

Oh that's a good one. You might want to remind all your rich MegaChurch leaders spread out across the southern states of the u.s. like so much cancer.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAA

What a hypocrite.

But you keep thinking that. we don't need no gullible stupid people with a lot of money in their pockets walking around this country!

Wow, this thread is everywhere, including the requisite Bush bashing...

Get used to it NMG NO. I hope Bush has to put up with it for the rest of his life, and I suspect he will.
