I've never dismissed him as Shill O'Liely. In fact, you're addressing someone else with your suggestion. I dismiss him as I do any other talking head in the media.

The only principles they stand on are those that get viewers. For proof, I only need to point to Glenn Beck who, last year, referred to some ron paul supporters as "extremists" who the government should "use the military to get under control".

Now he's changed stations. He may not be an extremist, but he plays one on tv. It would be nice to think that he's had some epiphany, but experience demonstrates differently.

I disagree about "lying and bullshit." Percentage-wise, it's pretty low on O'Reilly's show. The problem is that he has now been lumped in with Limbaugh, Savage, Malkin and others and now many on the Left can't or won't distinguish for themselves.

When he is not bloviating or shouting down guests, O'Reilly actually runs a pretty fair show and has featured an amazing array of guests from all parts of the political spectrum. He may spout, but he can take a lot of crap too is capable of conceding a well-argued point. I've seen it for myself. Sift through say, the Olbermann show and see if you can find a similar result.

If you want informative talking head coverage that is also entertaining, you should follow a combination of C-SPAN, O'Reilly, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and listen to NPR on radio.

On the other hand, we should all probably avoid talking heads.
