Former Representative Joseph P. Kennedy II announced Monday that he would not seek the Senate seat held by his late uncle, Edward M. Kennedy. "After much consideration, I have decided that the best way for me to contribute to those causes is by continuing my work at Citizens Energy Corporation," he said, referring to his non-profit that provides low cost heating oil to the poor.

This is tragic.

Who is worthy to fill the loafers of a Kennedy,
than another Kennedy? Absolutely devastating.

It's like a death of a Kennedy has one again taken place.

Be Well.

Good choice, Joe. I'm not a fan of nepotism.

Just what the Senate needed is another drunken (and drug addled) Kennedy. Joe Kennedy would have run if he wasn't a complete disaster.

This is so unfair! We demand he run so that we can demean his family!

Whether You liked Teddy Kennedy or not You have to admire His contribution to the American experience. I so wished Joe Kennedy would have taken His Senate Seat. this really bites Big Time.

Hey Larry it's been what 3 hours where's the punch line?

Kennedy or not, America can move on --- dot org.

His rap sheet will have to be hidden first.

His rap sheet will have to be hidden first.

So will his rap album.

beefers says..... Oh Thank God!

I would love if Joe Kennedy would run. However I really think it is entirely appropriate that he not run to fill his Uncle's seat.

Thats like electing Jeff Johnson to the congress from Florida.

(+100 Interwebs to anyone who gets this reference)

He should run on the strength of his own character and ability to make a contribution to the government as a representative of his state.

I know that is asking a lot in our current climate crowning families as political dynasties. I know we are still jonesing for a king and or queen (english/european heritage, Washington should have taken both jobs and solved the problem back then) but cant we get that from Hollywood?

If the guy sucks like some of you have said (i dont know enough about him individually to make a judgement one way or another) then he shouldn't be there.
