I read the article carefully and I do not see what else she could have been. His actions upon being approached by cops certainly seem like a panicked man. It does not look good for Pastor Ayers. Too bad I wanted him to be just helping out a poor woman or something.

Wow these cops are sure to pound their chest after this arrest. The streets are safer now.

The inane so called "war on drugs", which has INCREASED drug use, much like the "war on terror" has increased terror and terrorists, has been more of a war on civil liberties, black men in particular, and reason/logic.

What are you talking about Fedup? The video shows him hitting one cop with his car and then turning and aims his car at the cop who took the shot. The car is pointed directly at the cop when he appears to fire.

I normally don't trust cops any further than I can throw the ones that hang out at the corner gas station but even I have to admit that it appears to be a justified shooting.

This CNN article says the cops were investigating drugs while other articles claim it was a prostitution sting. Whether it was drugs, prostitution or both being investigate that is where I have a problem with this whole story. We need to stop spending so many resources on these "crimes".

Me thinks the preacher done screwed up an got heself kiiled. Maybe all the cop badges and cop guns pointed at him should have been a clue to stop and give heself up to da law. Of course slammin his car into the cop musta been just the thing ta git those trigga feengas twitchin.

I did not see in the article that the police knew the pastor's identity prior to the incident, only that they had been observing the female. In this case, he was not a known entity who could be apprehended at a later time.

A car is a dangerous instrument, and in this case the operator attempted to use it as a weapon. Police were identified as such, guy couldn't have been confused as to that. Knew they were cops and panicked over something (yet again another "holy" person caught involved in deeds over which they condemn others? Ruins the money train).

All the police probably wanted was to gain the man's identifying information; an investigative detention.

Maybe he was a pastor - ya know...

While watching the video, the first thing I noticed was that the cops arrived in a vehicle that has the embedded flashing lights. This was OBVIOUSLY a police vehicle. If the car was unmarked and the people not in uniform, the pastor MIGHT have thought it was a robbery. But in a police vehicle?

Shouldn't have ran, shouldn't have hit the officers with his vehicle (a deadly weapon), shouldn't have continued to flee after he was shot.

And, for the record, whether it was drugs or hooking, either one should be legal as far as I'm concerned.
