The survey suggests that, by 13 points, Americans think the Democrats rather than the Republicans would do a better job handling the economy and Medicare. The Democrats have a 9 point advantage on health care and an 8 point edge on Afghanistan

It's about time they re-engineered the polls to get better numbers.

A majority of Americans trust used car salesman and driveway resealerss over Republicans, especially where there are children involved.

Spinning! Whirling! Always spinning.... Whirling, whirling, whirling!

So now the political standard is being better than the last crooks and scumbags.

So, even after all the lies and myths about "killing Granny" and "socialized" medicine, all the astroturfing town halls, all the backstabbing GNOP "Senate "negotiators", the public still isn't fooled.

Next week's speech will cut these numbers lost in half, and Dems will find that they have support even in the conservative districts they hold.

Hello health care reform.

oh please...the health care reform you talk of will look nothing like the reform that he tried to get through in a span of two weeks

admit it

as laura ingraham said

these smarter than everyone else people were beaten by normal citizens and 'granny' because they thought that the OBAMA SHINE was still there..

the WIZARD has been exposed

AND here is a little news for you as well

the area that he is REALLY screwing up

"oh please...the health care reform you talk of will look nothing like the reform that he tried to get through in a span of two weeks"

It is, however, more than the Party of No managed in...gee, how many years was it, Aflak?

"oh please...the health care reform you talk of will look nothing like the reform that he tried to get through in a span of two weeks"

After the millions of dollars spent and the 24/7 right wing radio and TV campaign to frighten the average American into thinking that death panels and other such horrible things were about to be unleashed on them it really will be a defeat for the right no matter what is in the final bill if it is passed. Their assignment by the big insurance companies was to defeat any reform which would cost them profits and they were given virtually unlimited budgets to accomplish their goal. The fact that apparently a majority of Americans still trust Democrats more than Republicans means....the grip on their base once exercised by the right wing punditry is slipping, more and more of their viewers are getting wise to the fact that these liars are just corporate shills pretending to care about America. You'll see, some of the old line talkers are going to start being replaced by newer, less obviously dishonest shills, a whole new crop of liars will soon be replacing the current one if the health care bill passes at all.
Hell, they couldn't even keep a black man out of the White House??? They are losing their grip.

"So now the political standard is being better than the last crooks and scumbags."

Apparently.

But the percentage of people who think Obama will move the country in the right direction has dropped 11 points since May, while congressional Democrats have seen a 5 point dip. Congressional Republicans have seen a 4 point rise over the same period.
...

"Two-thirds of all Americans are angry at the way the government in Washington is working, and the Democrats get the brunt of that anger," adds Holland. "But the amount of anger has not quite reached the level that polls found in 1994, when voters turned the Democrats out of power in Congress and elected a GOP majority for the first time since the 1950s."

Not rooting for the GOP, but here's hoping the Dems lose a little.

-as laura ingraham said

You might as well be quoting Miss Marple.

The "Teabaggers" and other right wing idiots are further turning off Americans to the GOP - far beyond the toll their ineptness when in total control and spinning us into a costly and deadly war earned them.

I love how all those idiots on the left keep screeching teabagging this and teabaggers that... what is the fixation of the left on testicals?

Really, grow a pair for yourself, stop sucking on your neighbors, quit dreaming of all those right wingers that are straight and wouldn't allow you to lick the sweat off their balls and go on to something intelligent...

And, please, don't try trotting out the carabou barbie or whatever the lame name game came up with.

You should just admit you're a right wing hack who'd like to pretend he never supported Bush, and so calles himself a "Libertarian". You aren't fooling anyone.

And, PULEEEEEZE don't whine about 'name calling'. No one makes tea except with teabags these days.

Well let's see--how's Afghanistan going, now that the Dems are fighting it? Wasn't August the bloodiest month in both Iraq AND Afghanistan? BTW: I thought Obama said we would be out of Iraq within three months of his swearing-in. Then he moved the goalposts on that too. And how about those multitrillion dollar Wall Street bailouts? Everyone pretty happy with those?

His lack of support among moderates and conservatives hasn't surprised me. What's astonishing is how many libbies still love him. Must be the (D) that comes right after his last name.
