Christian Science Monitor: Pressure is building in Pakistan to hold former President Pervez Musharraf accountable for constitutional violations. Failing to do so would cast doubt on Pakistan's prospects for establishing an independent judiciary. However, so would overlooking the comparable abuses of his contemporaries.

This level of criminality and corruption in Pakistan sums up in a nutshell why it is difficult to rely on this erstwhile ally.

But America doesn't have any other options, now do they?

Beggars can't be choosers! LOL

n the name of fairness, Pakistan's Supreme Court needs to try Mr. Musharraf and all of those who committed or abetted crimes.

What crime has Mushi committed?

None.

Only the Parliament can legislate Mushi into being a criminal... retro-actively. But they don't have the balls to take him on. LOL

They don't have the balls, because, again, Pakistan is such a corrupt society.

Pakistan is such a corrupt society.

Far less corrupt than America, sez Micheal Moore.

Only Americans can go make a fake war so the gravy flows to Haliburton, Chenny, etc.

THAT is real corruption, my man.

Your health care is another scam. See "Sicko". etc etc etc.

Anyway, I hope Mushi is left in peace. The country owes him a debt of gratitude. There is no need to tar and feather him.

"The country owes him a debt of gratitude"

hells yea.

The country owes him a debt of gratitude

Mush is the reason high speed internet access spread all over Pakistan. Its sadly also what drove him out.

He should be left alone because Pakistan has bigger fish to nuke.

And he has total immunity now that we let him run off to Saudi Arabia. When we let anybody out of the country and then launch a case against them, we're not going to prosecute them, because they've automatically been punished by being put de facto in exile.

Sending a Pakistani into exile is punishment enough.

Ask me.

He's already in Saudi Arabia, the party that wanted him prosecuted was thrown into a spat with the governing coalition and its Karachi partner party, enough time for Mushie to be parachuted into Jeddah.

The spat ended, Musharraf was safe in the embrace in the House of Al Saud, and the leader who did the most for Freedom of Expression in Pakistan was safe.

Case Closed.

musharraf should be sent to work at a Saudi Arabian chinese restaurant.

i think some pakistanis who have been to saudi would find that funny...

Mush is the reason high speed internet access spread all over Pakistan.

Very true. It's how I am posting here and stealing movies with 2-Mb DSL connection. LOL

Seriously.. the guy changed the face of communications and TV in Pakistan.

Its sadly also what drove him out.

Sad but also very true.

Mushi could not have been forced to leave if this was still the 80s or 90s.

He was killed by the media and by the internet. They crucified the poor bugger.

Which is actually a good thing in the sense that a country with such free and powerful media can't be taken advantage of for too long.

He should be left alone because Pakistan has bigger fish to nuke.

Exactly.

"and stealing movies"

Thief.

Thief.

Oil-Thief.

"Oil-Thief."

I pay for mine.

You admitted you're stealing movies.

I pay for mine.

Yes, your taxes let Bush invade Iraq for their oil.

You admitted you're stealing movies.

Stealing from a thief isn't really stealing, now is it?

"Yes, your taxes let Bush invade Iraq for their oil"

The difference being I am not my country. You, however, are you, If I had my choice, America would not have invaded Iraq. You, on the other hand, choose to be a thief.

"Stealing from a thief isn't really stealing, now is it?"

Yes, it is. You're a self-admitted thief.

I am not my country.

You are.

That is how we see it.

If I had my choice, America would not have invaded Iraq.

It did using your tax dollars. Whether you wanted to invade Iraq or not, it WAS DONE with YOUR money.

Your fault for letting Bush steal an election.

You, on the other hand, choose to be a thief.

When it comes to stealing from thieves, I am proud of being a "thief".

Robin Hood... that's me.

"You are (your country). That is how we see it."

Then you're an idiot.

"it WAS DONE with YOUR money"

You continue to ignore the difference between a country's choices, and an individual's choices. You're trying to deflect away from the fact you're stealing someone else's copyrighted product.

"I am proud of being a "thief"."

Yes...you are, aren't you? That explains a lot.

"Robin Hood... that's me."

You need to reread the tale. You're bastardizing the theme.

Then you're an idiot.

Whatever.

What that means for you is, there is a possibility for ordinary Americans like yourself to pay the price for the actions of your country.

Like it or not, that is what happens around the world.

You're trying to deflect away from the fact you're stealing someone else's copyrighted product.

I am not deflecting at all. I said I was doing it, didn't I? Just like everyone else with a fast connection. LOL

You need to reread the tale.

I am a pirate with a heart of gold.

Just like Capn. Jack Sparrow. LOL

"there is a possibility for ordinary Americans like yourself to pay the price for the actions of your country."

Yes, and I probably will. But that has nothing to do with your individual decision to rip-off something that's not yours.

"I said I was doing it, didn't I? Just like everyone else with a fast connection"

No, only thieves steal other people's property.

"I am a pirate with a heart of gold"

Bullshit. You are stealing for yourself.

rip-off something that's not yours.

It's mine now.

No, only thieves steal other people's property.

That's right. Just like Iraq.

You are stealing for yourself.

No, I believe in sharing. If there is anything I have that you want, I'll give it to you. No problem since I got it for free. LOL

And I do have a heart of gold.

I am one of the good pirates. God help you if you run into one of the bad ones.

Anyway, if my "stealing" bothers any American, do remember I can do it because Mushi gave us fast-internet (like YS pointed out).

One more reason for Americans to hate Mushi. LOL

See here.. I am "stealing" a movie right now as I was posting here. LOL

farm4.static.flickr.com

It's a bit slow... only going at half-speed... but even so I will get it in an hour about.

I am "stealing" a movie right now as I was posting here.

And that is one more thing Mushi won't go to jail for even though he is responsible. hahahahahahahaha

"It's mine now."

I'm sure that's what all thieves say.

"That's right. Just like Iraq."

Why do you continue to deflect to a different concept? I didn't vote for Bush, and didn't want to invade Iraq. It was done despite me. In your case, however, it's you and you alone making the decision to steal something that doesn't rightfully belong to you.

"I believe in sharing. If there is anything I have that you want, I'll give it to you."

You have nothing I want.

"No problem since I got it for free."

You got it by stealing. You took someone else's work, work you knew was copyrighted, and stole it. In essence, you took money rightfully owed to another, and put it in YOUR pocket. That's thievery.

"Anyway, if my "stealing" bothers any American, do remember I can do it because Mushi gave us fast-internet"

What a piece of shit, blaming everyone but the actual perpetrator.

If someone invented a universal key, would that mean you could go into all your neighbors' houses and steal whatever you wanted?

"Mushi won't go to jail for even though he is responsible. "

Nice try, to deflect yet again from the fact YOU are the one responsible.

Or, as you've proven, irresponsible.

Why do you continue to deflect to a different concept?

My concepts are how the world sees you, that's why.

I didn't vote for Bush, and didn't want to invade Iraq. It was done despite me.

Cute argument but a weak one. Doesn't wash since we all know how gung-ho you all were to go to Iraq and look for "WMD".

You have nothing I want.

But I might be able to get it. LOL

In essence, you took money rightfully owed to another

American money. Money that will be used.. at some point... to kill more people and bomb more weddings.

I should be given a medal. LOL

would that mean you could go into all your neighbors' houses and steal whatever you wanted?

Don't be silly. I would never steal from other Pakistanis.

"My concepts are how the world sees you, that's why."

Your "concepts" are nothing but lame attempts to mitigate your thievery.

"Since we all know how gung-ho you all were to go to Iraq"

I thought you said you didn't lie. Hmmm. I guess that was a lie.

"American money. Money that will be used.. at some point... to kill more people and bomb more weddings."

Still...money that belonged to someone else. And again, you're conflating a country with its citizens. That money could just as easily been going to people trying to prevent what you're fearing. Yet another in a long line of false deflections away from your thieving ways.

"I would never steal from other Pakistanis."

But would you commend others for stealing from individual Pakistanis, if they thought Pakistan would use money to bomb more weddings?

Regardless, you're willing to steal, even proud of it. That makes you a thief.

Don't be silly. I would never steal from other Pakistanis.

Posted by Tosser at 2009-09-04 05:03 AM | Reply

Aren't You stealing from other Pakistanis when You steal movies that they go and pay more money for to compensate for the loss from Your theivery?? So Yes indeed You're stealing from Your fellow Pakistanis.

Larry

Or, as you've proven, irresponsible.

You are annoyed because you are afraid your kids are doing the same thing I am.

Aren't You stealing from other Pakistanis when You steal movies that they go and pay more money for to compensate for the loss from Your theivery??

No, they got fast internet too. It's cheaper than buying/renting DVD's.

I guess that was a lie.

Nope. I noticed how on EVERY American blog, everyone was jumping up and down about Saddam and his evil "WMD" which he was going to attack America with any minute now.

I also get American news tv here. I saw what all the talking-heads were saying and went "wow!"

That money could just as easily been going to people trying to prevent what you're fearing.

LOL... since when do Americans use money to stop wars?

Better you have less of it.

But would you commend others for stealing from individual Pakistanis

Nobody steals Pakistani movies. Most are shit.

The few good ones have always been made available online by the producers themselves.

if they thought Pakistan would use money to bomb more weddings?

Pakistan bombed plenty of "taliban" weddings and dinners and breakfasts. We have no problem with that.

you're willing to steal, even proud of it. That makes you a thief.

Yes I am a horrible horrible person and I will probably burn in hell, but you should know it makes me more attractive to women.

Also, the Koran sez, thou shalt not steal... it doesn't say "thou shalt not download torrents".

Loophole!

It's theft.

You're a thief.

Nope. I noticed how on EVERY American blog, everyone was jumping up and down about Saddam and his evil "WMD" which he was going to attack America with any minute now.

Not EVERY American blog. About half the people here thought Iraq/WMD was Bullshit from the beginning.

I thought it was bullshit when Clinton tried it.

Sorry to ruin your revisionist history with the facts.

Sorry but I have been T TOTALLY against the Illegal Iraq War even before it started. Nice try Tosser but no ceeeeeeeegar

Larry

I thought it was bullshit

You are not the majority.

America was united and very clear on who they wanted to go after.

Iraq war (and now Afghanistan) became unpopular ONLY AFTER American soldiers started getting killed there in larger numbers.

Anyway... I am a thief... I am not alone here... and we are proud to steal anything American.

In life everything comes with a price. Consider our thievery a price for your stealing from other nations.

I don't lose any sleep over it.

Besides, it isn't against the law in Pakistan.

So I am breaking no laws at all, downloading whatever.

What is up there, is available to all. I am simply picking it up. I did not rip it and put it up there.

The real thieves are the people who "rip" DVDs. And most of them are Americans themselves. LOL

And... bringing it back on topic... like I said, none of this would have been possible without Mushi.

That's just a curious fact.

Mushi can be called "the daddy of broadband internet" in Pakistan.

We got cable, DSL, EVDO, WiMax, Wifi, options... all because of Mushi.

He's my hero. LOL

Before Mushi we had to rent DVDs that were themselves pirated... from out of Hong Kong, I think.

JUst want to mention.

Copyright laws don't extend over international borders.

If the pak govt doesn't enforce US copyrights.

Toss isn't stealing.

Secondly anything that can be copied with the click of a button should be free anyways.

Hording information is staggering human development.

That's my opinion. You may not share it. But being a musician I know all about the bs that are copyrights.

There are "legal" ways to steal someones idea. (Microsoft) So I just give my music away for free.

Information HAS to be free. And one day it will be.

Copyright laws don't extend over international borders.

If the pak govt doesn't enforce US copyrights.

Toss isn't stealing.

That's right.

Like I said, I am not breaking ANY laws.

Secondly anything that can be copied with the click of a button should be free anyways.

Ameen, brother.

Giving Tosser a hard time about downloading movies is pretty small potatoes. His brand of moral dishonesty goes far beyond watching pirated flicks on his computer. Which is probably why he has no problem backing a corrupt politician such as Mushy.

Which is probably why he has no problem backing a corrupt politician such as Mushy.

The problem with that sentence is that even Mushi's worst enemies (and he has many) have not been able to find any case of corruption against him.

No kick-backs, no nothing.

There are no secrets in Pakistan. If he was corrupt, someone would have dug it up by now.

So yeah, I have no problem wishing the guy some peace in his life.

Giving Tosser a hard time about downloading movies

No, it's okay...

There isn't shit you can do about it anyway. LOL

watching pirated flicks on his computer.

Pirated flick also sometimes goes into Tosser's mobile phone where it gets shared with other mobile phones by Bluetooth.

Actually, I never had a problem with Mushy. He was a fairly loyal vassal to the U.S.

"JUst want to mention. Copyright laws don't extend over international borders."

Bullshit. I personally know people who sit on WIPO.

"being a musician I know all about the bs that are copyrights."

Then you must be a shitty musician, not to know about the worldwide group dedicated to protecting your rights from thieves like Tosser.

Also, the Koran sez, thou shalt not steal... it doesn't say "thou shalt not download torrents". Loophole!"

Downloading copyrighted material without paying for it is stealing. There's no loophole, except to the illiterate.

"Nobody steals Pakistani movies."

I wasn't talking about Paki movies. I was talking about all other things of value they might own. Do you believe taking those things without compensation is stealing?

"I am a thief... I am not alone here... and we are proud to steal anything American."

And the truth comes out. You're proud to be a thief, as long as you're stealing from Americans.

"In life everything comes with a price. Consider our thievery a price for your stealing from other nations."

What a pile of shit from a piece of shit. Nothing but cockamamie deflections designed to mitigate cur behavior.

"Then you must be a shitty musician, not to know about the worldwide group dedicated to protecting your rights from thieves like Tosser."

hey dipshit

they have ZERO authority in pakistan

WIPO can try all they want, but the pakistani govt doesn't prosecute copyright violations as of yet.

that may change.

but the govt has to agree to WIPO

i don't care who you know
they are protecting nothing

btw.

what the hell does my musical ability have to do with knowing of an organization that doesn't protect anything successfully.

oh right

absolutely nothing.

When it comes to the internet, music and copyrights, I would like to turn the attention of anybody interested in those three things to

Exhibit A:

The Collapse of the Record Industry

Exhibit B:

The Survival of I-Tunes as a Fossil of the "Sell Copies of Music for Money Model".

You can't sell music anymore. The new model for musicians to make money is simply live performances. Look at the exposion of music festivals in North America. Musicians will no longer be able to make money selling copies of music. Now they have to perform well and earn money by actually playing real music. Thank God the internet is killing copyrights and the capacity for companies and musicians to make money of laziness. Even DVD/movie sales are feeling the pinch of this competition. And Thank God! Have you seen all the good movies that have come out this summer? All that internet competition has meant that people don't buy dvd's of crap movies, they watch them for free, and so the only way to make money is to lure people back into the cinemas. And the way to get them back into the cinemas is to make good movies.

Starting with The Departed in fall '06, this decade finally saw un uptick in good quality movies leading to District 9 and Inglorious Basterds.

"And the way to get them back into the cinemas is to make good movies."

Another proud thief, hiding behind the bogus claim 'I want it, but it's only good enough to steal, not good enough to pay for'.

Screw you. If you want it, pay for it. If you aren't willing to pay for it, don't take it. Hiding behind the lie "I'd pay if they made better movies" is cowardly. Stealing it proves you wanted it.

Tell us...if your neighbor invented a universal key that opened all the locks on your doors, would that make it okay for them to take your property?

Screw you. If you want it, pay for it. If you aren't willing to pay for it, don't take it. Hiding behind the lie "I'd pay if they made better movies" is cowardly. Stealing it proves you wanted it.

I agree. I don't support paying $10 for a movie not worth $5, so I joined Netflix and wait for the DVDs of 99% of the movies out there.

"what the hell does my musical ability have to do with knowing of an organization that doesn't protect anything successfully."

If you were any good, you might have something worth protecting.

"i don't care who you know they are protecting nothing"

Especially when they have to deal with pricks like you who condone stealing someone else's intellectual property.

Copyrghts

Danforth: Slave to Media Corporations

WAH WAH WAH!!! The Media Corporations aren't sucking YS_1's blood!!! I give them MY neck to suck and they suck $10/$20 worth of my money and then give me this shiny shiny disk in return!!! WoooHoooo! I gave my money to an exec who doesn't give a shot about me and got this dvd in return! Now my conscience feeeeelss soooooooooooooo much better that I GAVE MONEY for nothing but a SHINY PLASTIC DISC.

Aren't I Danforth such a good whore to the corporate media? X-D

"Especially when they have to deal with pricks like you who condone stealing someone else's intellectual property."

Everyone should steal intellectual property and undermine this corporate welfare scheme.

"Everyone should steal intellectual property and undermine this corporate welfare scheme."

And what of musicians who don't go the corporate route? Steal from them, too?

"The Media Corporations aren't sucking YS_1's blood!"

There's a simple solution: don't buy it.

But otherwise, you're just finding a way -- any way -- to justify your thievery. Bitching about it, but wanting it enough to steal it, is cowardly.

Rainbow Centre

If we in Pakistan paid morons like Microsoft and Sun Systems the dollar amounts that their piece of shit programs cost, we would never ever be able to afford using Microsoft Office and other such software. This is long before Open Office was a dream and DSL was nothing but a very, very expensive mirage. With the low cost of living that Pakistan has, a middle class person would never afford software at its US price. Thus buying software just at the cost of just the cd was totally profitable and its what has taught a generation of kids, not just un Pakistan, but throughout the world, how to use a computer.

Universal Key

Total Bullshit. Dude, NO SUCH THING EXISTS. It is, in reality a figment of your imagination

Seriously, this imagining of threats/scenarios is a seriously stupid, but very common Indian/American method of Argument. I call it the "What If" scenario? Best example is the OMG OMG what if Pakistan's nukes fell into Taliban hands???ZOMGZOMG!!!!11

Stop pulling shit out of your arse, you're an American, not a monkey.

And for your goddamn information if I had a universal key, I like my neighbours, and in fact the people of my whole country that I would not steal from them. For Gods Sake man, is that how your mind runs? That you would steal from people if YOU had a universal key?

Sheesh Danforth, you disgust me.

"If we in Pakistan paid morons like Microsoft and Sun Systems the dollar amounts that their piece of shit programs cost, we would never ever be able to afford using Microsoft Office and other such software. "

What a whiner. If you can't afford it, you can't afford it.

"Thus buying software just at the cost of just the cd was totally profitable and its what has taught a generation of kids, not just un Pakistan, but throughout the world, how to use a computer."

In other words, the rest of the world is subsidizing your thieving ass, and you're still crying about it.

"Total Bullshit. Dude, NO SUCH THING EXISTS"

But it does with downloads, and somehow you've told yourself it's alright to steal what someone else owns.

"I like my neighbours, and in fact the people of my whole country that I would not steal from them."

But you'll steal from people you don't know. Wow...some man.

"That you would steal from people if YOU had a universal key?"

No, I wouldn't. You've proven, via your theft, you would.

"Sheesh Danforth, you disgust me."

So what? I don't care that a thief is disgusted by someone who suggests they be honest.

" Microsoft and Sun Systems the dollar amounts that their piece of shit programs cost"

See this?

They call the software a "piece of shit", but they still want it.

I guess thieves will do anything to justify their crimes.

I personally know people who sit on WIPO

Ah, so our dear Danforth is not a vivctim, but rather a part of the coven of professional vampires themselves.

Of course you would abuse people who download! You (or at leest your "friends" wouldn't) make money of them.

"And what of musicians who don't go the corporate route? Steal from them, too?"

All musicians should be compensated. But the current system is corporate welfare. It should be abolished and new business models allowed to take its place.

Correction:

Ah, so our dear Danforth is not a victim, but rather a part of the coven of professional vampires themselves.

Of course you would abuse people who download! You (or at least your "friends" wouldn't) make money of them.

The distributors want their cash. LOL.

And their friend Danforth is here to help X-D

"All musicians should be compensated. "

Then formulate a model that compensates them the way you believe they should be paid, don't just steal from them and justify it any way you can.

"But the current system is corporate welfare."

Then don't download anything. That'll teach them. But stealing it, and then claiming it's okay because you're fighting corporate wealfare, is the route of a pussy.

"It should be abolished and new business models allowed to take its place."

Go right ahead. In the meantime, try not to steal anything.

"Ah, so our dear Danforth is not a victim, but rather a part of the coven of professional vampires themselves."

I'm one of the royalty artists you're stealing from, yes. And I work alongside folks who deserve to be paid when their work is downloaded again and again. Last year, 90% of the music downloaded was done illegally. Because someone invented a Universal Key when it comes to other people's intellectual property. And thieves will say anything to justify ripping someone else off. Except, of course, "I won't do that because it's wrong".

"Of course you would abuse people who download!"

Strange, how calling a thief a thief is "abusing". There's a simple solution: if you don't want to pay for it, don't download it. But don't bitch that they want to charge too much, so that makes it okay to steal. Produce your own content, and give it away all you want, but 'it's worth stealing, but not paying for' is transparent bullshit.

I don't like the idea of people downloading music illegally but if Danforth keeps this up I'm gonna buy the biggest capacity ipod I can find and fill it with pirated music

"I don't like the idea of people downloading music illegally but if Danforth keeps this up I'm gonna buy the biggest capacity ipod I can find and fill it with pirated music"

Typical gas from GAS.

Stop American kids from putting stuff up there. That would stop us from downloading. LOL

And do understand, American laws on copyright and stuff are for America only.

They do not apply to me and will never be enforced.... no matter how much you might wish it were so.

"That would stop us from downloading."

Certainly what passes for your conscience won't.

They call the software a "piece of shit", but they still want it.

Microsoft's stuff is a piece of shit if you have to pay 6000 Rupees for it.

But if you get it for free, it's worth it.

"American laws on copyright and stuff are for America only.

You're a liar. Nothing new there.

"They do not apply to me and will never be enforced..."

They do apply to you. The fact they'll probably never be enforced, so you believe that justifies your thieving ways, speaks more of you than anything else.

Certainly what passes for your conscience won't.

Now you are deflecting. LOL

Listen... I can't come into your home and steal your stuff.

It's your kids who might put up your music making it possible for me to download.

We can't steal without the cooperation of nice American kids.

"But if you get it for free, it's worth it."

What a pile of shit. You're admitting it has a value by downloading it. Not being able to afford it is no reason to steal it. Except, I guess, in your cur world.

"We can't steal without the cooperation of nice American kids."

Spoken like an accomplice trying to get a lesser sentence.

And if your neighbor leaves out a bike, is it their fault if you steal it?

You're a liar. Nothing new there.

You obviously feel strongly about this, but that won't change the fact that American laws have NO VALUE here.

Even if someone decides to enforce some silly American law here because of some international agreement or something, and take me to court, you will find at your cost, what a mistake you made.

And if your neighbor leaves out a bike, is it their fault if you steal it?

I don't steal from my neighbors or from other Pakistanis. I thought I made that clear.

Spoken like an accomplice trying to get a lesser sentence.

I'm afraid I know what I'm talking about.

The up-loader is more guilty than the down-loader, under the law (that's right).

There is no way in hell I can download something that someone never put up there.

You're admitting it has a value by downloading it.

Maybe it's worth a lot to me. Maybe it's as worthless as a booger.

I can only tell AFTER I download and try it out, no? LOL

Having said all that, as far as software is concerned, I do try and do the responsible thing and go for open-source as much as I can.

I no longer run Microsoft Office... hate it. I use the free Open Office.

I never use Microsoft's stupid browser.. I use Firefox.

I only use Google's CAD (Sketchup).

etc etc.

I am waiting for Google's operating system to come along next year so I can dump shitty Windows as well. LOL

As it is, I use Ubuntu on one of my computers anyway.

But when it comes to music and movies... ahhhh... the thrill of the hunt is still there!

"that won't change the fact that American laws have NO VALUE here."

So you think it's okay to steal what doesn't belong to you.

"The up-loader is more guilty than the down-loader"

Apologist, hiding behind his skirt.

"I can only tell AFTER I download and try it out, no?"

No, buy it and find out, like everyone else. Or get off your ass and read a few reviews. But you're a scum. You've never sent a penny, even if you've liked what you've stolen. Your point is bullshit.

"the thrill of the hunt is still there!"

Yeah...as you steal from the safety of your cur cave.
"There is no way in hell I can download something that someone never put up there."

And there's no way you could steal your neighbor's bike if he didn't leave it out.

"I don't steal from my neighbors or from other Pakistanis."

Because you could actually have to answer for your thievery. But you'll steal from anyone else. What a pussy.

You obviously feel strongly about this

Lookie here:

#54 I personally know people who sit on WIPO

#73 I'm one of the royalty artists you're stealing from, yes

Both #54 and #73 are true.

And how does that mitigate the fact you're a thief?

But you'll steal from anyone else.

No, I will steal from YOU only.

If you treat the world like shit, don't expect any decency from us in return.

Whatever the reason, I told you I AM PROUD to "steal"... "acquire" would be a better word... American intellectual property and treat it like dirt if I want to.

China does it too.... all the time.

What can you do about it except whine? LOL

Your laws work in America only. Period.

Stealing my neighbor's bike is wrong. There are laws against that and I never break any laws if I can help it.

Downloading stuff? No laws against it.

No, buy it and find out, like everyone else.

I'm afraid your way of doing things is way too old.

This thread is funny.

A Pakistani-American, a Pakistani-Canadian and a Pakistani-Pakistani see the way things ARE.

The American dude however insists on some fantasy he thought of about "intellectual property" or something.

You may have a point... where you come from.

However, as you can see on this thread, WE see things VERY differently.

It is time you join the winning side.

Pakistan is... I am proud to say... the 2nd or 3rd biggest pirate of American "intellectual property" with China, of course, being number one. LOL

You wanted to make Pakistan your "pal", you got us.. we be your pal, your buddy. And this is our price for cooperation. hahahahahahahaha

"If you treat the world like shit, don't expect any decency from us in return."

The royalty artists you're stealing from have done NOTHING to you. You're hiding behind that excuse because you're a thief.

"I told you I AM PROUD to "steal"... "acquire" would be a better word..."

No, the proper word is "steal". It doesn't belong to you, honest people pay for it, and you steal it because you feel safe from retaliation.

"Downloading stuff? No laws against it."

It's copyrighted, and you don't own the copyright. Just because you live in a backward country too sackless to enforce intellectual property rights doesn't make stealing someone else's work acceptable.

"Stealing my neighbor's bike is wrong." There are laws against that and I never break any laws if I can help it."

What a coward. The reason you won't steal your neighbors' property is you might get caught. But from the safety of your cave, you can pretend you're a really, really big man, when all you are is a gutless thief.

You're hiding behind that excuse because you're a thief.

But I am not hiding at all. LOL

I told you what I do when I am bored. I download a movie or ten.

The royalty artists you're stealing from have done NOTHING to you.

Did I not mention that you... as an American... will pay for the sins of your country?

This is a good way.

"And this is our price for cooperation."

Then excuse me if I don't feel sorry for whatever befalls your backward world.

"Did I not mention that you... as an American... will pay for the sins of your country?"

What a gutless chickenshit, taking your frustrations out on people who never lifted a finger to harm you. Enjoy your thievery. I'm glad I don't have to live with your conscience.

and you don't own the copyright.

But I own the product. hahahahahahahaha

Just because you live in a backward country too sackless to enforce intellectual property rights doesn't make stealing someone else's work acceptable.

Silly boy. Intellectual property rights in Pakistan (and China) are very strictly enforced.

We just don't give a shit about American intellectual property rights. Those are not enforced and we couldn't care less.

If you fools were smart enough, you would realize there is an easy way to get what you want.

Make the product HERE, partnering with a Pakistani company or artist. Then it will have full protection.

Then excuse me if I don't feel sorry for whatever befalls your backward world.

And what is going to "befall" us? LOL

We are not the ones making war on the world.

taking your frustrations out on people who never lifted a finger to harm you.

Americans hate people from Pakistan, muslims in general, and Asians, for NO REASON at all.

I am just making it easy for you and giving you a reason to hate us. LOL

And yes, it will be taken out on YOU. That is the way of the world.

"But I own the product."

You have it in your possesion. You stole the product.

"Make the product HERE"

That shithole? No thanks. Keep the twenty cents your low morals have cost me.

I'm glad I don't have to live with your conscience.

My conscience is crystal clear, oil-thief.

You have it in your possesion.

And "possesion is nine-tenths of the law".

That shithole? No thanks.

See? That is why you suffer.

No problem at all. LOL

"The American dude however insists on some fantasy he thought of about "intellectual property" or something."

"Intellectual property rights in Pakistan (and China) are very strictly enforced."

So it seems "intellectual property" wasn't a fantasy after all. And you're a liar as well as a thief.

Cooperate or die.

Make your products here or else don't complain if you get ripped off.

At least Boeing understands.... they are going to make parts of their new plane in China.

Just like parts of the 777's engines are made in Pakistan.

That is the only way you can enforce some rights.

So it seems "intellectual property" wasn't a fantasy after all.

The way you insist on doing it, is a fantasy.

American intellectual rights, are a fantasy.

"That is the only way you can enforce some rights."

Well, we obviously can't rely on any moral underpinnings of Pakis.

Well, we obviously can't rely on any moral underpinnings of Pakis.

You will just have to, now won't you? Beggars can't be choosers.

Here is another example... Pakistan gave nuke technology to North-Korea and America (of course) had kittens.

Even though NO LAWS WERE BROKEN, America had kittens.

Pakistan has the right to do whatever we feel like since we never signed off on your silly agreements.

We don't break laws. LOL

Tosser

Please don't generalize about Americans. Obama's election and takeover of Congress should show you a majority of us are NOT batshit crazy. Just as we don't assume all Pakistanis are like the Taliban. Not the vast majority of us.

Obama's election and takeover of Congress should show you a majority of us are NOT batshit crazy.

It shows you are even crazier than I thought. Obama is a war-monger in a suit and tie. I am surprised how people haven't got a clue about this monster.

If you'd like Bush back, you can have him !!!

America should have focused on Afghanistan post 9/11. Sorry we're just getting around to it.

If you'd like Bush back, you can have him !!!

I am sure if a third term as President had been allowed, you would have let Chimpy steal another election.

Sorry we're just getting around to it.

LOL... no you are not getting around to it. You are losing men and material and time there, that is all.

"I am sure if a third term as President had been allowed, you would have let Chimpy steal another election."

Ha ha!! Not a chance in Hell!! Bush was the most unpopular President since polls began 60 years ago - 21% approval rating when he left office.

The time something could have been done with international help in a big way was right after 9/11 when even Arab nations were offering to send troops to help stabilize Afghanistan. But, would you just leave it as it is now with the Taliban threataning, killing, and Afghanistan a lawless blight on the region?

(Bush was the most unpopular President since polls began 60 years ago) ....

which is why so many now call themselves "Libertarians". They're ashamed to say they voted for Bush and now want to pretend they never supported him.

Hahahaha, Hussein will be in the teens by Christmas.

Bush was a great president compared to the Ayers/Soros sock puppet.

Get fucking real.

Tosser as far as stealing US technologies, it's meaningless....

In ancient Rome there were vomitoriums where the rich would engorge themselves and then vomit into a cistern, the poor would then eat the vomit to survive.....

Somethings never change.

A ridiculous atatement like "Bush was a great President" in any context is moronic. Lower approval than Nixon. You betcha!

Husseins approval has dropped 25 points in 200 days, he will leave office as the most hated president in US history.

And deservedly so.

No one is falling for his bullshit anymore, except for the brainwashed idiots who are like japanese soldiers hiding in the jungle for 40 years.

He has been exposed for what he is, a tool for radical leftists, a manchurian canidate intent on the destruction of the country.

I would give his chances of finishing his term without impeachment or resignation at less then 50/50.

And I am always correct.

Hmm.

Fuzzy math. He fell from 65% to 55% in Gallup. Rasmussen is a garbage poll so out of line with any other it's simply moronic to take it seriously.

Riggghhhht, how are the bananas?

he will leave office as the most hated president in US history.

I might desperately hope that as well, had I voted for W twice.

lol.

Good point, Alexandrite.

Seems to be a dearth of "Libertarians" these days! LOL

yeah, it amazes me that 3rd parties that just so happen to be conservative leaning blew up 1000% lately.

Became obvious to all but the very brainwashed/brain dead that W was an abysmal fucking failure and "compassionate conservatism" is deader than Reagan.

So now "libertarians" are swarming the US like locusts.

Alex

Whenever I see a "Libertarian" on the 'net using a term like 'leftist' their true colors jump out bright red. lol

Tosser as far as stealing US technologies, it's meaningless....

America losing it's car industry to Asia was meaningless to you? LOL

Because this is what it eventually leads to, you know. In the end your industry or the creativity of your artistic talent dies.... and I can hardly wait for that to happen.

In ancient Rome there were vomitoriums where the rich would engorge themselves and then vomit into a cistern, the poor would then eat the vomit to survive.....

Wrong analogy.

It more like we are the tooth fairy. You lose a tooth and we give you some sweets in return so you lose more teeth.

Husseins presidency is done, finished.

It doesn't matter if you see that yet, it is the reality.

But, would you just leave it as it is now with the Taliban threataning, killing, and Afghanistan a lawless blight on the region?

Afghanistan seems to be now more lawless than before.

If you people aren't the solution, you have to be part of the problem.

No, Tosser, my analogy was correct.

I harbor no animus over the loss of technologies, I see it as a vast ocean that high and low tides.

I harbor no animus over the loss of technologies

Good man. We need more Americans like you. LOL

yeah, it amazes me that 3rd parties that just so happen to be conservative leaning blew up 1000% lately.

Became obvious to all but the very brainwashed/brain dead that W was an abysmal fucking failure and "compassionate conservatism" is deader than Reagan.

I get a kick out of this too. I think they wish that they had never voted for Dubya and regret their decision. I made a couple statements here about 20 to 30 Years down the road what they will say about the years 2001 through 2009 about if they supported Dubya or not. Gotta love the braindead Conservatives. hehehehehehe

Larry

It's like an old shoe Tosser, they may still be comfortable, but they smell funny.....

I know you lived here a good piece of your life, technology changes so quickly in America, we can afford to expel the run off....it's like fecal matter, or vomit....

I know you lived here a good piece of your life,

Why do you say that? I have never been to America.

technology changes so quickly in America

If and when it does, we get it.

If it's software, I get it.

we can afford to expel the run off.

Not really. You can't afford it for long.

...it's like fecal matter, or vomit....

No, more like a Vampire bite.

You obviously feel strongly about this

Lookie here tossie

And @ R_Zeitgeist too:

#54 I personally know people who sit on WIPO

#73 I'm one of the royalty artists you're stealing from, yes

@ R_Zeitgeist: Don't use the Christmas analogy, i.e, X Good event will happen by Christmas, the Kaiser and the British said that about their involvement in World War I.
I think you'll have to give B.O a leettle more time to pull his own "lewinsky". My theory on the Monica Lewinsky thing was that by the late '90's Bill had suffered so much stress that he had become inclined to do something stupid. People say Bush later on was sleeping with Condoleeza Rice. So maybe Barack Obama will do somethingstupid under stress.

Small fish clean the teeth of hippos, it's a symbiotic relationship, the cleansing of filth provides sustenance for the detrius.

Life is a cycle, large and small.

Life is a cycle, large and small.

In this cycle you are being cut down to size piece by piece.

America's days of living on the creativity of it's brain-drained immigrants, have ended.

China is the new land of opportunity.

YS, I have no idea what you are talking about.

As for copyrights and the concept of intellectual copyrights, the whole idea arose after recording technology and its mass production came along.

Convenience dictated how it people would get their piece of media. As records got smaller and more convenient to transport it got easier and easier to duplicate media. Now with media literally reduced to the size of electrons, the mass convenience for the public is simply to find what they want in the easiest and most technologically simplest way. It has gotten to the point where the most simplest members of society can easily access their favoured piece of multimedia.

I 1/4 of the way agree with you Tosser.

@ R_Zeitgeist you said

Hussein will be in the teens by Christmas

Me thinks it'll take a wee bit longer than that.

People say Bush later on was sleeping with Condoleeza Rice.

I don't know if Bush slept with her (yuck!) but I do know the woman was a slut who slept her way to the top.

I didn't say which christmas.

Hussein will be in the teens by Christmas

Just like Benjamin Button... he will keep getting younger.

www.youtube.com

Oomph! "Sandmann"

Benjamin Button

Crap movie.

Anyway: Back to copyrights

A lot of what I said was based on an essay an economist wrote when he was asked to predict the future waaay back in 1996.

This is what the gentleman had to say on copyrights:

Today, if you develop a marvelous piece of software, by tomorrow everyone will have downloaded a free copy from the Net. If you record a magnificent concert, next week bootleg CDs will be selling in Shanghai. If you produce a wonderful film, next month high-quality videos will be available in Mexico City.

How, then, can creativity be made to pay? The answer was already becoming apparent a century ago: creations must make money indirectly, by promoting sales of something else. Just as auto companies used to sponsor Grand Prix racers to spice up the image of their cars, computer manufacturers now sponsor hotshot software designers to build brand recognition for their hardware. And the same is true for individuals. The royalties the Four Sopranos earn from their recordings are surprisingly small; mainly the recordings serve as advertisements for their arena concerts. The fans, of course, go to these concerts not to appreciate the music (they can do that far better at home) but for the experience of seeing their idols in person. Technology forecaster Esther Dyson got it precisely right in 1996: "Free copies of content are going to be what you use to establish your fame. Then you go out and milk it". In short, instead of becoming a Knowledge Economy we have become a Celebrity Economy.

Luckily, the same technology that has made it impossible to capitalize directly on knowledge has also created many more opportunities for celebrity. The 500-channel world is a place of many subcultures, each with its own culture heroes; there are people who will pay for the thrill of live encounters not only with divas but with journalists, poets, mathematicians, and even economists. When Andy Warhol predicted a world in which everyone would be famous for 15 minutes, he was wrong: if there are indeed an astonishing number of people who have experienced celebrity, it is not because fame is fleeting but because there are many ways to be famous in a society that has become incredibly diverse."

I knew of this dude from some years back. Then when I got a textbook from him that was written by him, his star went up in my book.

Free copies of content are going to be what you use to establish your fame. Then you go out and milk it

Getting green light for sex might not be a total good thing. Having to deal with censorship makes your mind sharper.

R_Zeitgeist, All the vids you posted had Ideas, Messages or stories, like Sandmann.

That is what I was anglin' fer man.....

Pakistani music has real feeling and emotion behind it...more so then almost any other 'country wise' genre....

R_Zeitgeist: Thanks man. Got to agree with you on the German reference man; those guys rock out hard since the '90's. But will be honest, until some years, my only reference for Germany's music was

Musaraf goose was coked the minute he sided with the war on terror and against his own people. Once he invited us in (against the wishes of his people) it was downhill from there.

All of his "quesitionable" act stem from being our ally.

jesus christ...why does rex have to soil every thread with his "music" choices.

Musaraf goose was coked the minute he sided with the war on terror

Rubbish.

Mushi's goose was cooked the minute he:

1. Tried to fire the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

2. Pissed off a bunch women senators who could have saved him in the end.

If he hadn't tried to act cute with the Chief Justice, he would still be here, without a doubt.

Never mess with a lawyer.

Mushi encouraged women lawmakers in Govt. making Pakistan one of the highest number of women lawmakers in the world.

That bit him in the ass. LOL

Mushi gave us over a hundred tv channels and new media freedoms and fast-internet.

That also bit him in the ass.

Poor guy was done in by his own creations.

Since Pakistan is such a thorn in our side have we ever considered attacking them also? I to couldn't hurt.

Meant to say It couldn't hurt.

America will only attack Pakistan if Jackass-the-fake-Ninja joins the army and leads the way and takes the first bullet.

Otherwise no.

In fact, why don't you email Pak-Gov pictures (fake pictures) of your "karate-teacher" so that we surrender? LOL

If we attack both Pak and Afg we are bound to get Bin Laden.

Tosser where's that video of that really old sufi Afghan guy on a mountain

Tosser where's that video of that really old sufi Afghan guy on a mountain

What video? Was it music or something?

I send so many videos, I don't remember which one.

If we attack both Pak and Afg we are bound to get Bin Laden.

The only person who can attack Pakistan is your ex-wife who got you arrested and made you pay child-support out of your ass.

She might have a chance.

Yeah, its an old afghan guy on a mountain singing a sufi Pushto (I think) song, with a musical instrument in his hand. And the video looked like cassette quality.

Can't seem to find the damn thing again ....

I am a search-engine genius!

www.youtube.com

It was this one, yes?

I searched using the name "rabab". That is what the Pathan guitar like instrument is called.

Tosser, thanks FTW.

Theres this Los Angeles comedy website run by these wannabe Hollywood writers. They've got some really funny shite on it sometimes.
This was featured as no 2 on their list of "Three Most Baffling Fight Scenes in Movie History".
Enjoy

This is why I don't watch Pakistani movies.....

Mushi and Chief Justice will do very well in this fight scene. In fact, this is what happened.

Mushi and Chief Justice

Zardari and tindie are in it.

Remember, its a four way fight.
