I remember this from back in early 2009 when it first came out. The electron was not "split" in quite the same way a composite particle like a proton can be "split" into quarks (bound into jets of other composite particles). Under extreme conditions, the charge and angular momentum of an electron become separated and behave as if they are two distinct "quasiparticles". The electron hasn't really been split in two, though, since the quasiparticle pair is a bound state.

It is difficult to get all of the subtleties educated folk display. But do I understand when I'm being spoken down to.

Photon pairing for quantum entanglement requires a number of modalities to be qualified. I'm not sure how to explain phase conjoining - basically, it's when one atom corresponds to the next, which "encourages" a stable pattern of orbits and phase-corrected similar atoms. When I mentioned fabrication regarding encryption on the prior Zatoichi thread there apparently are materials which naturally "encourage" conjoining, thus a COMPUTER. When I state that the "form" of atomic displacement is directly related to the entanglement (such as the resonance inference imaging), it's mostly to show that I won't help you to encrypt. Goatman displays interest in lightspeed, so there is someone who can.

If imagination is too "babblesque" then I'm sorry for that. My education is nil and I don't really read much on quantum whatnot, but I'm always open to what people are sharing. Otherwise, I'll leave this thread to you smart guys and go back to scrubbing the carpet (which a hot & wet Roomba should be doing).

Got a behind the scenes tour of the ATLAS linear accelerator.

They don't split electrons, they do collisions that make new nuclides.

Their doing beam runs now to make Nickle isotopes.

The Advanced Photon Source is amazing.
