what nobody gets is these "blue dogs" won't be around in the next election if they do go along with the potussa. i'd be willing to bet that at least half the people who voted him in do not even pay attention to the next election period - they got what they wanted in the white house and now it's time for him to put up - they expected miracles from "the one" and he cannot produce.

This is about more than party politics. When you vote for someone you don't write them a blank check. Most of the sitting senators want to be re-elected to their seat and that is their primary concern. It's the politicians survival instinct. If you ignore your constituants get ready for early retirement.

we have 4 US Reps (Dems) in our area who are wondering daily if farts have lumps

their support of cap & tax energy stirred alot of folks to get educated & active

after their 1rst round of town halls, all 4 went into hiding because their constituents were clearly better educated on the proposed bills & effects than they were, AND on the opposite side of the issue

at this point none of the 4 could survive their Dem primary -

Congress needs more Blue Dog dems and the equivalent in Republicans (Red Dogs?)

The blue dogs won in districts that mostly went to Republicans in the past. The Dems fielded relatively conservative candidates that had a lot of crossover appeal.

Now, the Blue Dogs are doing their job: they are representing their constituents. They serve their voters before they serve the Messiah or the DNC.

The really funny part of this is that the DNC thought the magic 'D' was all that mattered. They got their numerical majority, but the Blue Dogs make the margin, and they are not little obedient robots like most democrats.
