When my grandmother broke her hip Healthpartners would not allow the doctor to perform the surgery neccessary to fix the hip the way it should have been. I was told later from the doctor that HP would allow the best fix on younger patients and the medium one on middle aged patients but when someone older broke there hip they didnt see it neccessary to devote the money to the best fix since they would be dieing in a couple years anyway.
