Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

TVNewser has learned, and a CNN spokesperson confirms, that in his morning editorial meeting today, CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein asked his show producers to avoid booking talk radio hosts. "Complex issues require world class reporting," Klein is quoted as saying, adding that talk radio hosts too often add to the noise, and that what they say is "all too predictable."

I am mixed on this. Talk radio hosts do often stick to a pre-determined point of view, but they also talk to the general public far more than politicians or TV news people do.

Its probably easier to institute a blanket ban than to discourage booking rabble rousers who don't contribute to the dialog in a substantive way.

Rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble...

Okay, I'll club it down.

It's the Chicago Way!

"Complex issues require world class reporting,"

So how is this Untrue?

"talk radio hosts too often add to the noise, and that what they say is "all too predictable."

Again --- what's untrue about this?

If I remember correctly, this is America, and in America a Business can refuse service/access for Any Reason.

While "world class reporting" has rarely been CNN's forte, all the righties have been proclaiming that Daddy Rush and Uncle Sean weren't really reporters and thus should not be expected to tell the truth, so there's no real loss, right Member?
Now if CNN would just get rid of reading and showing other people's blogs as news "sources".....

I rarely watch CNN anyhow, and even as a talk show fan.. I think they do have one point.. almost everyone on TV news now is predictable.. turn to Keith Olbermann, you won't ever be surprised, same with Hannity, etc.

we have to think for ourselves.. boo hoo.

What is CNN?

Are they banning Lou Dobbs too?

Are they banning Lou Dobbs too?

He was probably the reason behind it. They fired him without firing him.

Now that he's turned his guns on the Dems, Loud Dobbs is no longer a hero of the left.

Eventually Jon Stewart will be next.

Loud Dobbs was never a hero of the left. He's a nativist asshole and has been for years.

I don't think old Lou is going to last much longer at CNN, he's sort of lost it, not that I'm saying he really ever had it, but the birther crap has reduced his credibility to absolutely nil.

I just flipped channels to CNN for about 60 seconds. Lou Dobbs was on there. He looked sedated. He had two guests, one a black woman who mentioned that her white friend sent her an e-mail telling her that the people at the town hall he attended looked like a bunch of racists. That's kind of funny since she called him her "white friend".

The man labeled the town hall attendees as "crazies".

I wonder if this is the type of journalism that Dan Rather is trying to save.

"Complex issues require world class reporting,"

What the fuck does cnn know about "world class reporting"?

The funniest thing about this so far is Neal Boortz stating he doesn't care about this new rule when it's obvious he's eating his own liver over it, without salt.

ALl the righties? You are sounding more and more like danni.

ALL

FUCK YOU LOU.

Just another reason that FOX News is so outpacing them and their ilk.

MSGT is correct. By booking a bunch ideological radio talk show hosts FOX has cornered the market on stupid unthinking viewers who like to be told what to believe.
