Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, August 13, 2009

The large, plastic and metallic sculpture parked outside UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science, is stoking the angry fires of parents of children who attend nearby Claremont Park Elementary School.

"My daughter suggested that it was funny," said John Copeland, whose 7-year-old daughter attends summer camp there.

Copeland said he hopes the owner of the plaza removes the sculpture before school starts next month.

"There are 1000 kids in the school that are going to be exposed to it," he said. "It's vile and offensive, and kids have no business seeing what God thought fit to hide from our eyes."

"She shouldn't be talking to me about this. Now I'm forced to explain genetics to her, and why the Bible doesn't say anything about it."

This is a special kind of stupid here.

Obviously, your daughter's maturity level is higher than yours.

"Now I'm forced to actually talk to my kid."

Pussy.

And we're all made out of atoms, too; Stardust.

Deal with it.

Needed repeating.

This has gotta be a joke.

WTF?

Nothing more offensive than two ladders wrapping around one another. They probably think the ladders are having sex or something. I know I get all hot and bothered every time I see two long poles with a lot of rungs between them.

where's the photo of the vile and offensive statue?

i'd love to see them put one up of laminin:

the stuff that keeps our bodies from falling apart!

Oh Christ, Nanc, you don't actually believe the guy in that video do you?

You realize that is a cartoon, right? Not an actual representation of what laminin looks like.

laminin is like the genetic version of the jesus cheeto:

as far as I'm concerned, people who are desparate to believe there is a creator only need look at the starry sky at night, however people are desperate to believe in their particular religion as right will go to the most absurd lengths to try and prove it.

Yeah, well-what're they showing in the Maytag Galaxy?

No fucking way... some people are stupid, but this stupid?!

Then again, I'm sure you could scare up a few. One of the many things fundies seem to lack is the sense to know when to shut up.

Funny, Zombie seems to do the same, also lacking the sense to know that he is being prejudicial and stereotypical.

This is a representation of some people's opinion. I think the discovery of the DNA molecule and the double helix design is something to be in awe of.

Also, I would say I am a fundamentalist, as I try to follow the fundamentals, or basic foundations of the scriptures. I don't see that as bad. The fundamentals are, 1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. Sounds like a good plan to me. Fundamentally sound if you will.
