Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, August 13, 2009

America's most vulnerable citizens are barely considered in most emergency plans, according to a report being issued Wednesday by the National Council on Disability. Huge gaps exist in mergency plans despite an executive order issued by President Bush in 2004 urging federal and local governments to consider the unique needs of the disabled when planning rescues and preparing emergency shelter.

This is one of the prime reasons New Orleans was never evacuated during Katrina. People, unfathomably, wouldn't leave disabled loved ones behind.

#43 | Posted by panchovilla

Yeah! You said it. Thank you for being honest. It's amazing how many people want to argue a point and they have no clue about it!

I thought we were getting off topic, here, but we're not.

The article is all about how the Federal Government can't help all of the people. That's why we have the State's being responsible for their own residents. Louisiana is an example of how they, a corrupt Democrat-run State, could not help its own people when they were charged with this responsibility.

So, we learned from that and tried to fix it. We Can't at a federal level. This much is a fact.

So, now you want the government to take over a failed system and try and make it right?

I'm sorry, but the Fed's track record on this sort of thing is really bad. Ever try to get good health care from the VA that was better from a private provider just next door?

#46 | Posted by AILtd

Why don't we just wait for Mysterytoy to come and defend himself.

I was just trying to shed a little light on it since many of the posts on this thread were retorting his one post.

"So, now you want the government to take over a failed system and try and make it right?"

The health care system has had problems for the last 30 years (if not longer). 20 years ago people realized that with the baby boomers about to put even more of a burden on it, the liklihood of it becoming a monetary disaster would become a distinct problem. For all those years the health care industry and the private sector have done very little so fix the problem, or even attempted to do so. Only entity left to make the attempt is the government. So it should get a shot.

"Why don't we just wait for Mysterytoy to come and defend himself."

First, he's had almost 24 hours to do so. Doesn't look like he's going to.

Second, the point was being made that he didn't need to provide support for his statement. My assertion was that he most certainly does. Still stands.

EDDIE, cynicism doesn't befit you. The research was done on why people stayed during Katrina after the storm. A prime reason people remained was sick or invalid relatives.

You have a point, me boy. These weren't the people on rooftops waiting to be saved, by-and-large. One reason for that may be that a good number of them drowned, along with their loved ones, as the storm peaked.

This shouldn't surprise you. Rescue didn't come to some nursing homes, and old folks drowned there. A lot of people died. I hope your memory isn't really that short.

The more I consider your response, EDDIE, the more annoying it seems. Many people in New Orleans were faced with the choice of moving their infirm family member, which might kill them, or keeping them where they were during the storm, which might kill them.

Hope your life is always neat and tidy. Hate to have someone make fun of you someday for making your best call.

Only entity left to make the attempt is the government. So it should get a shot.

That you regularly make a horse's ass of yourself here? You even have to ask that question?

"Ever get health care from the VA that was better than the private provider next door..."

Reminds me of the WWII vet I knew, a person who fought in Normandy---He came down with first a heart attack and then cancer. If if hadn't been for the VA, he would have died.

Seems like the private providers wouldn't see him. Now, that's sure a mystery. Just as a guess, though, I'd say their decision had to do with money.

You have a point, me boy. These weren't the people on rooftops waiting to be saved, by-and-large. One reason for that may be that a good number of them drowned, along with their loved ones, as the storm peaked.

#53 | Posted by Zed

I remember, my relatives were there. They got out, except for my Uncle. He stayed for the reason that some stay, to watch his property. But, they got my 92-year-old grandmother out. My friend's family got their elderly out of town.

I also remember an old folks home that was not properly evacuated. It was some scary shit watching that and feeling helpless. They were left behind because their family thought they were being evacuated. How frustrating can that be!??!

But, I don't remember reading that most of the 30,000 or so needing rescue stayed because they were strapped with invalid relatives. Oh, I'm sure there were some, but not all of them.

Do you have links to this?

Did I mention self-retorting?

My point was those with sick family, by and large, would not be on roofs because their responsibilities were on ground level. So, depending on exactly where they were at the time of peak flooding, most of those people drowned.

Another prime reason many people didn't evacuate was because they'd done that before and the experience was hell. Again, people making best selections from available alternatives.

It's ok, Doc, Rogue will be along soon to call me a Nazi.

LOL, you fool.

Those Death Panels, are they powered by solar energy or regular electrical current?

Eddie's mom kicked him off the computer until he cleans his room.

Hey Eddie, it would be far easier for you and for congress to real HR 676, Medicare for all. It isn't anywhere near 1000 pages. Probably 1 0r 2.

Actually, American should have a health care bill we could all read in a few minutes.

"Medicare for all."

Gee, that's easy.

"Eddie's mom kicked him off the computer until he cleans his room."
2.bp.blogspot.com

I did see the latest amendment added to HR 3200 earlier today regarding the death panels...

It is explained here:

Just days after leaving her judge's post at "American Idol," singer Paula Abdul announced that her next gig will be serving on the nation's very first death panel.

While details of the panel remain sketchy, Ms. Abdul said that it will most likely be showcased on a reality show, tentatively called "So You Think You Can Live."...

News of Ms. Abdul's new duties raised eyebrows in official Washington, where many questioned whether the former "Idol" judge had the qualifications to make life-or-death decisions.

But for her part, Ms. Abdul was dismissive of the naysayers: "Hello, I held Clay Aiken's life in my hands. Whatever. Where am I again?"

#108 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

Why do you do this? I try to have an adult conversation with you and give you a little respect and then you turn around and behave like a child and stabb me in the back.

You are an aggressive woman! I really think so. Your moods change like the song...

"She's always a woman to me"

Rogue: Always a woman...
Doc: Unraveling...

What next?

"I try to have an adult conversation with you and give you a little respect"

...

"You are an aggressive woman!"

Dude, you must be the stupidest fuck alive.

"You haven't read the bill"

Eddie, I daresay I've read a good deal more of this bill that you have. Or, for that matter, ever will.

"and you dare challenge me on it?"

Yes, Eddie, I "dare" to call your bullshit "bullshit."

"You come here trying to discredit me."

No, Eddie, you do a bang-on job of that yourself.

"Why?"

Something in your blood, maybe? A genetic tick, perhaps? Too much crap consumed out of too many alumninum cans?

"Do I threaten you that much?"

Yeah, Eddie, you've really got people on this thread on the run. LOL!

Eddie - no one here discredits you but you. We just have a little fun at your expense, although I'm starting to feel a little guilty.

Originally I thought you were just a whacko nutjob spouting off stuff you probably knew was BS. Now I'm fairly convinced that you're really just not very bright, and making fun of you would be wrong.

What next?
#113 | Posted by Eddie

Well, I just checked my watch and my guess is your bedtime is probably what's next.

I have seen many men here who act aggressive as well as irrationally, Eddie. The "aggressive woman" line you use as an insult does not help you win a discussion nor does it give you credibility.

HEY! I'm not agggressive OR irrational. And if you say that again I'll scratch, uhm, err, punch your lights out!

Dude, you must be the stupidest fuck alive.

I didn't mean it as an insult, just an observation.

And, I really don't expect to make headway with Rogue and Doc. They routinely visit me and give my all levels of crap and I give it right back. It's a game to keep us from becoming too bored while waiting for the intelligence to return.

And, wait, LOL!!! You think that their insults to me give them credibility?

Are you serious? Have you been paying attention?

No, but really. Void of any other stimulus, Rogue comes off as a college-aged woman going for her law degree. She gonna take some white guys down! Don't ask me why it's so specific.

Originally I thought you were just a whacko nutjob spouting off stuff you probably knew was BS. Now I'm fairly convinced that you're really just not very bright, and making fun of you would be wrong.

Nice try, Rogue, and you told me this a few months ago, the last time I got your goat.

You're not fooling me.

You and Doc play with me because I am the only one of your opposition who actually responds to you.

It would be nice if you were more intelligent and less on the childish insults.

BTW, I wrote Doc off as a hypocrit. He hasn't read the bill and he knows it.

Anyway on with the show!

She gonna take some white guys down!

Oh my. In addition to being a misogynist, our little Eddie is a bit of a racist too.

My oh my.

Don't ask me why it's so specific.

#123 | Posted by Eddie

Big LOL!

Anyway, Rogue, I'm going to read the bill as painful as it will be and you have to read up on Ron Paul on Health care.

Your job is so much easier. This is not fair at all.

But we both know that neither one of these ideas are going to be adopted by Congress. No way will Obama's bill pass.

And no way will anyone ever want to approach Ron Paul's ideas.

To many rich and All powerful people have too much to lose if we go either way.

It's a battle that will go on forever.

But, what do you have to lose but a little ignorance.

She gonna take some white guys down!

How is this racist?

(If you don't know, I;m not gonna tell ya)

Wow! If you see this as racist then you must be a racist.

Don't ask me why it's so specific.

It's weird, I don't know how to describe it, but he/she really is channeling some aggressive upwardly mobile law school chick that's out to prove her/himself to the confident self-reliant male.

So what, the plan should be for getting the majority safe and the secondary is for those disabled.

None of these local governments were able to come up with one.

I am a conservative and have a sincere, conservative question: Is Eddie fucking retarded? Anyone can feel free to answer this for me.

Nice job tearing yourself down, Eddie. You really do sound like you've got some serious issues you ought to give some thought to addressing.

WHAT?

#137 | Posted by LIVE_OR_DIE

You're more of a Lib than Rogue and not as smart as Doc.

did I mention that you are a LIAR?

Why shouldn't MysteryTOOL support his statement and show everyone how any proposed plan leaves the disabled without healthcare?

Shouldn't everyone support their statements?

I typed in "Obama care bad for disabled" into the google and got 1,520,000 hits.

Maybe you can start there. I know it will be tuff to leave this place to actually read/research other outlooks on the dem health care plan as well as other outlooks on life, but try it. You never know you might actually enjoy learning.

I once read a protocol for doctors to follow during catastrophes. It has always been like that.
When faced with a sea of need, those with the best chance of survival and producing a next generation are triaged ahead of the rest. Children are at the head of the line but "necessary personnel" (i.e. soldiers in war) come absolutely first. The disabled and those less able to care for themselves are last.
It has always been the protocol. Nothing new.

Another slap in this face to the retards from President Obama.

First, the pile of dogshit Obama compares his shitacular bowling skills to being "like the Special Olympics or something."

Then, he makes sure that if there is a disaster they all die.

Why does Obama hate the tards?
