In a new posting on her Facebook account, former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) made a dire statement about health care reform -- that it could result in an Obama-created "death panel" killing her infant son with Down Syndrome:

The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Palin/Bachman 2012!

Republicans everywhere are thrilled by the prospect of these two illustrious, brilliant women being their choice for President of the United States.

There's already a thread with 97 posts on it about this exact same topic on the Front Page.

How did you feel when the state ordered the death by starvation of Teri Schiavo, even though her parents said they would take over her care?

Isn't that what the state of Oregon is working up to doing, by refusing some treatment or other, but suggesting suicide as an alternative 'treatment'?

Of course, Teri died of dehydration, first. Sure save the state of Florida some money over Oregon's 'suicide treatment', don't you think?

No need for any consideration of the feelings of someone who was so diabled that they couldn't speak, while murderers and rape-killers are treated gently to ease any nervousness and seeing that they feel no pain.

Who cares about this woman's fears that the federal government might follow Florida's lead and starve her Downs child to death ... hmmm?

Leftists only care about the feelings of terrorists against the USA, murderers and rapists ... not Downs dummies or those so disabled that they can't say how much agony they are experiencing by being starved to death ...

You defend your leftist hatemongers and the nationalization of medicine, so that Florida's example may become reality ... starve the old and disabled to death ... no need for any 'suicide kit' or humane treatment for those losers.

... they were probably rightwingers, anyway, and good riddance ...

How did you feel when the state ordered the death by starvation of Teri Schiavo, even though her parents said they would take over her care?

Fucking moron... Schiavo was a meaty tomato.

How did you feel when the state ordered the death by starvation of Teri Schiavo,

The state ruled for the husband

Tadley and "johnson" were twins separated at birth.

I won't call you names such as ignormaus Zombie, just because you're not reading materials that render your ideas passe. I wonder though at your outburst of anger. Do you ever introspect to try to understand why you are so passionate regarding this matter? Probably not since your passion is irrational and that understanding would confuse you even more.

There are not findings that find that approximately one-half of people in a so-called "vegetative state" are aware of their surroundings.

Teri Schiavo quite possibly was quite cognizant of the fact that she was being murdered by denial of care, which her family compassionately wanted to provide, while her "hsband" in name only had dissipated furnds available for her support putting them to his own use and then secured her death so he could devote his full attention to his paramour.

the lefties are always so "compassionate" with their redefinition of compassion to accommodate their cold-blooded stances required by their ideology to which they are in thrall.

That should read:

There are now findings that find that approximately one-half of people in a so-called "vegetative state" are aware of their surroundings.

"There are now findings that find that approximately one-half of people in a so-called "vegetative state" are aware of their surroundings."

Which, naturally, explains johnson's posts.

Here's a report of a letter from the Oregon state health care program to a lady seeking prolongation of life with treatment, informing the lady that she's not worth it, and offering assisted suicide, a legal $35 to $50 procedure in Oregon as the alternative.

As the state spokeswomen said, we've got to be careful with the taxpayer's money.

Careful with the taxpayers' money? Tell that to Pelosi as she creates the Congressional Air Force. Didn't she raise a stink to secure preferred transportation for herself privately from the Pentagon?

Why yes she did.

But as George Orwell observed in "Animal Farm," "Some pigs is better than others."

Way to go Nancy. Way to go, Obama. If they get this plan through their euthanasia program will eliminate millions of the elderly, the disabled, and those with orphan diseases through denial of care. How's that for budget balancing?

Leftist ethics.

Kill them at birth. And if killing does not succeed, Obama voted to exonerate the M.D. killers with a medical license from the need to provide care for the surviving victims of intended but failed butchery.

Kill them if they're young.

Kill them if they're old.

Kill them if they're disabled.

Kill them if they suffer from an orphan disease.

These folks are not worth keeping alive. Isn't Peter Singer, the ghoulish Princeton Professor sitting in on ethical decision making now for Obama? Obama's plan may enable him to exceed even Chairman Mao in numbers of people dying because of his, Obama's vision.

Obama's lying and people are going to be dying.

while her "hsband" in name only had dissipated furnds available for her support putting them to his own use and then secured her death so he could devote his full attention to his paramour.

I call horseshit.

That said, we all need to fill out our living wills

Obama Healthcare Step One: Killing Off the Old, Then They Are Going After Quadriplegics

Some cultures respect the old. Under Obama healthcare, we will kill them off. Here's Peter Singer, professor of bioethics at Princeton University, in a New York Times Magazine article, Why We Must Ration Health Care, already deciding who to kill off once national healthcare hits.

www.nytimes.com

It's the cost, and "the tax and run up deficits," "salvage billon dollar corportations," and their "multi-million dollar executives," but be cautious with health care spending.

Why not leave it private?

Is the goal control of another large segment of the economy and populace by people with a totalitarian mindset, who use any tactic or device to secure their ends?

"Obama Healthcare Step One: Killing Off the Old, Then They Are Going After Quadriplegics "

Which, naturally, explains why johnson is concerned.

Hmm. Among the folks who are your associates and peers, I'll bet such comments rank as brilliant. What wit. You certainly have distinguished yourself and what an uplifting vision you present. Do your friends aspire to match your commentary?

"Hmm. Among the folks who are your associates and peers, I'll bet such comments rank as brilliant."

Yes. It is true.

I am brilliant.

More of your brilliant repartee.

Again, among your peers you must have a great reputation for observation and commentary. Maybe you can secure a gig as a stand-up comedian.

I wonder what your investment in single payer health care is. Somehow it evokes gratuitous irrelevant statements from you speculating concerning my situation, which is befuddling because of its lack of rationality. But that's okay. Somewhere in your psyche there is some connecting thread. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to formulate these brilliant ripostes.

"More of your brilliant repartee."

Of course it is.

"Didn't she raise a stink to secure preferred transportation for herself privately from the Pentagon?"

Nope.

Funny. the obvious conclusion here is that the insurance company, which the right supports blindly, is fucking the patient, yet you try to spin this into an anti-left rant because some other policy has been in place for quite a while?

Why is your anger not directed at the proper target: the insurance company? Seems pretty simple, yet your intellectual dishonesty leads you to ineptly spin an anti-obama rant? Funny stuff.

"Mr. Johnson? Ah, there you are... You've been 'reevaluated.' Please come with us to the Disintegration Chamber."

If Johnson want to convince me or anyone that people in vegitative states are "aware" of anything, he should at least have the decency to provide a link to the groundbreaking research that led to this amazing discovery.

Something mentioned on Fox and Friends, by the way, doesn't really rise to the level of proof that I'm looking for.

Teri Schiavo quite possibly was quite cognizant of the fact that she was being murdered by denial of care, which her family compassionately wanted to provide

Sure, assume that there was a flicker of activity in that mass of necrotic tissue beyond her brain stem - it makes for an interesting thought experiment.

Do you honestly think it would be compassionate for her family to keep Terry the Conscious Potato alive indefinitely, trapped in her body and unable to interact with any part of her surroundings? Imagine being trapped in solitary confinement, paralyzed and unable to communicate. Forcing you to stay in that state is so fucking compassionate.

Both her family and her husband were acting out of selfishness. The family couldn't let go, and the husband wanted money. Some people keep pictures and heirlooms but the family wanted to keep a sack of meat with a pulse. The husband was a scumbag, hands down, but he was a scumbag who advocated the right course of action (if for the wrong reasons).

Well killing retards is a good first step.

What was left of Schiavo's brain after all those years being comatose wasn't much more than a slightly elaborated brain stem.

At best, she was reduced to "core consciousness" - not anything like what we experience on a daily basis, although it IS necessary for higher levels of consciousness. She was certainly not cognizant of her environment in the way healthy individuals are; most of her brain was gone. The fact that her eyes could follow certain movements doesn't count; again, that's the brain stem at work - a low-level reflex which is biologically ancient.

CT scan: Normal brain vs Schiavo's

The bright white spot in the middle of all that black (liquid brain-mush) is a thalamic stimulator, not healthy tissue.

She wasn't ever, ever going to be "coming back" or otherwise recovering...

Cortex gone = no narrative "self" or experience of feeling emotion, no higher processing...essentially, with the destruction of the cortex, "Terri Schiavo" as she was known to her family, friends, etc., is gone as soon as the cortex dies off.

Limbic system gone = locus of emotion out the window too.

She had part of the so-called "reptilian brain" intact...presumably some of the brainstem (although some of those nuclei were probably destroyed as well judging by how many machines she was hooked up to) as well as at least part of the cerebellum were left intact. As I mentioned above, at least some of her most basic reflexes were preserved, as well as some motor functionality.

Essentially, though, she was most likely less conscious than lowly reptiles by the end...

She wasn't ever, ever going to be "coming back" or otherwise recovering...

And if she did, she'd have me to reckon with.

Essentially, though, she was most likely less conscious than lowly reptiles by the end...

Lowly reptiles? Perhaps you have forgotten who secretly controls every government, bank, and major corporation in the world... we'll see who's lowly when the hatchlings that have been incubating just above your spleen decide that they want to chew their way out of your chest...

LOL lizard people

I'm in ur gubmint, stealin ur votes!!!

The people who wanted Schiavo kept on life support are reptoids, too. Had her ethereal human form been kept alive, "Terri Schiavo", in reptile form, would've spontaneously regenerated and was slated to meet with ambassadors from Alpha Centauri.

The "reptile brain"? Implanted with malicious microchips which stream information to our cold-blooded (literally and figuratively) overlords. Working as intended.

(All doctors are scaly, too; they've already got Obama and healthcare "reform" in their pockets)

Me? I took proactive measures and trepanated myself.

Fuck you, lizard scum!

Little did we know that she was in a "vegitative state" because was telepathically controling a giant robot 5 years in the future, fighting in the ruins of Tokyo alongside the few humans who survived the awakening of the reptoid hatchlings preserved beneath the Antarctic ice.

Now who's going to pilot the damn robot? Some whiney kid?
