Crowley held a new conference afterwards. Very well-spoken and personable. He said he and Gates had a great talk and both wanted to focus on the future, not the past and that they both felt each had something to learn from the other. He also said they and their families met during individual tours of the WH, introduced each other, and continued the tour together. He said he and Gates plan to meet again. He also had nice words for both Obama and Biden.

Crowley acquitted himself very well, with a great sense of humor, too.

Gates sees himself as a reincarnation of DuBois or Malcolm X but comes across as the animation of Elmer Fudd.

The fool Gates profiled SGT Crowley because he is white and the bigger fool Obama followed him over the cliff. Obama's "teachable moment" should have been a "learning moment" for himself and dickhead Gates.

This is all good and well. Now 18 - 30 beers apiece now that would make news.

This whole thing was big pile of crap and Obama is still being viewed desservedly as moron over his handling of this by jumping to conclusions or acting "stupidly" as some may say (including me).

Not only is Obama is a racist but he is a sexist too. He failed to invite Lucia Whalen who initially made the 9-1-1 call and never mentioned race but has been branded a racist and she received no support. She was being a good citizen and reported a "possible" breakin.

I think it's pretty cool two average guys got to have a beer with the VP and the Prez. Makes you realize Obama and Biden have very important jobs but are still regular guys. I've settled many disagreements over a few beers.

Strategically, Obama painted himself into a corner. He jumped to conclusions and then used an instance that had nothing to do with racial profiling as an excuse to open his trap about racial-profiling.

He had his little photo-op over a beer to try and smooth things over, and IMO, only made himself look more foolish for doing so. Having said that, much of the media coverage over this has been tepid to upbeat - 'what kind of beer are they going to have?' 'What type of wood is the picnic table made out of?'

Now that the photo op is over, strategically, the second best thing he can do is shut up - it's over, it's done with. The press won't push him on it and he knows it. The BEST thing he could do would be to use this opportunity to talk frankly about race-baiting and how its baselessness only harms racial healing. THAT would show true leadership and true post-racial president. I'll be very surprised if he opts for the best option.

The latent racism of the left is manifest everywhere. The left somehow invests its benign racism and dehumanization of people as invested with value rather than meriting the denunciation it deserves.

If racism is to be eliminated, then it should be removed as the prism through which events are viewed. And all people should recognize that their human qualities override particular individual characteristics.

There should be elimination of deference to blacks as "particularly sensitive" and entitled to be nasty, whereas their insufferable behavior if it occurs, should not be reciprocated. There should be recognition that whites are equally as sensitive as blacks to slights and denunciation.

Gates is the quintessential racist. His stereotypical view of the white officer and his refusal to cooperate because of his racial prism distorting his view of reality interfere with the more efficient operation of society.

To digress. When a cop is called to a possible crime scene and encounters a man at the door who purports to be the legal occupant of the premises, the first thing he wants to do is establish what the situation is. The cop asked Gates to step outside to insure that he was not "covered" by a criminal intruder and being asked to assure the cop that nothing was amiss so that the cop would leave and the robbery in this case, could continue.

Instead of complying, Gates the racist, immediately responded belligerently based on his racist view of the world, and wrongfully attacked the officer, and become uncooperative.

Cop: We've had a call of a break-in. Would you please step outside Sir.

Gates: No. This is my house.

Cop: Sir, we need to investigate. Would you please step outside.

Gates: No. You are hassling me because I'm a black man, and you're a ..., etc.

Cop: May I please see some identification?

Gates: (Continues diatribe) (Pulls out Harvard picture ID without address.)

Cop: I need ID showing this as your address.

Gates: (Continues offensive rant.) (Reluctantly produces Driver's License.)

Cop leaves premises.

Gates emerges from house and continues to berate Cop.

There are elements of various offenses here.

But the disrespect evinced by Gates as a member of a community based on his own blatant and antagonistic racism is what proudced this situation in which Gates wrongfully assailed the Cop.

The deference to inappropriate behavior by blacks and the way in which lefties justify such inappropriate behavior and apologize for impropriety by blacks boggles the mind if these lefties are indeed as they profess, against racism.

These lefties are depriving not only the whites but the blacks of their humanity, and they are also proceeding as if blacks cannot realistically be expected to conform their behavior to societal norms. The idea that lefties don't view this as demeaning to blacks and a perspective that is in itself "racist," making decisions based on race, again is difficult to comprehend and impossible to justify.

Lefties want to provide all sorts of concessions to blacks to "compensate" them for all sorts of imagined shortcomings. Racist?

Blacks and whites living in this society should be expected to treat each other with decency and respect as they do all other people without special licenses accorded to blacks based on the arrogance of leftists views that blacks are not equal members of society subject to the same standards of behavior as others. Do you lefties want to accept blacks as putative equals, or will you continue to view blacks as "special" and from your declarations and actions, "inferior," requiring kid glove treatment based on the leftist expectation that blacks aren't as "human" as whites, and are differentiated by greater sensitivity to slights, and an inability to act in accordance with community standards applying to others.

"Soft core" racism does not necessarily involve negative discrimination against blacks.
